Nice insulating material
Purchased this product to insulate some HVAC Sheetmetal ducting running through cabinetry. Adheres well and easy to work with. Would definitely recommend this product. I bet it would work well too as a vehicle insulating material and sound deadening material under your vehicles headliner or carpeting.

Great stuff
Use to insulate and block heat well. Countless options for use.

Works Great!!!
Used it for sound deadening in SUV, a lot cheaper than dedicated auto sound deadener. Works great!!!

Works as a cheap sound deadener.
I used this in my 04 dodge ram to quiet down the cab.for the price you can’t beat it, however it could be stickier. It takes some heat to get it to stick. Helped quiet the cab down a fair bit. Helps with some road noise.

It works great in trucks!
Great for inside your truck doors – I sprayed headliner adhesive to make sure it stayed in place but mightâve been overkill. I also cleaned the surface with brake cleaner before. Good stuff.

Terrible adhesive (if we can even call it that)
I bought 3 rolls to use on a van ceiling. It was the perfect amount. However, the adhesive is a joke. I immediately could tell this was not going to stay put without some help. So I sprayed some 3M 90 on the ceiling first. I really should have put it on both the ceiling and this, but even with that I clearly put too much faith in the adhesive that came on it. I firmly and methodically pressed everything in place, but within minutes it was already peeling away from the ceiling. I canât speak to its performance because it wonât even stay up. Not sure what Iâm going to do because now I have a ceiling with spray adhesive on it and strips of this cut to fit. Other than that it seemed like maybe it could be a decent product for its intended purpose, which is why I gave it 2 stars. Itâs not super thick and cuts easily. Iâm sure it would insulate ducts well but I donât expect crazy high performance in a van for the interior/roof. I also am not convinced that its sound deadening properties would be anywhere near on par or better than butyl mats, mostly because of its lack of mass and lack of even, reliable adhesion. I just added a photo of the duct wrap taken the morning after putting it up (much less than 24 hours later). Some panels already fell off. Iâll come back and add another of what it looks like two days later – it has basically all fallen down. Just know that if you try to use this for a car, 1.) this is not a sound deadener – sound deadeners add a rubber like mass to the sheet metal to essentially change the properties of the metal so it vibrates less by converting vibrational energy to heat energy, which requires really good adhesion, and 2) if you apply it to sheet metal in a car and then cover it up with door panels or headliner material, this is more than likely whatâs going on underneath there. As far as sound isolation goes, it has such a small amount of foam, and chances are youâre not covering every square inch of the cars interior surface it likely would have a negligible effect.

The glue on the interior is not as good as I thought. I have used it for aluminum ducting and it didn’t work, I had to use an aluminum tape to wrap it

The foil wrap for heating ducts is foam and adhesive backed. Perfect for sticking to ductwork that you want to keep warm or block sound from entering the ductwork. It is one continuous roll and there is no backing paper so you have to be careful when unrolling it. That is why I gave it four stars instead of five. It should have a paper backing so you can cut it to the size you need without is sticking to you or the work surface. On the plus side it is quite thick and sticks to the ductwork quite well.
