Don’t Judge This Crate by Its Cover—It’s Bigger Than You Think!
This just arrived, and I was so excited to open it up. Let me tell you—don’t judge a book by its cover. At first glance, I thought this crate would be way too small, but it’s MUCH larger than it looks!It unfolds in four easy steps: unclipping each side, then opening the top with its two handles. There’s a button on the locking bars that locks and unlocks the securing bars—nice touch. It even comes with a waterproof mat that can be removed and washed—bonus points for that!The crate zips open on the top, one end, and one side, and the top has a zippered storage compartment—perfect for a leash, poop bags, or small items. You can also lock the zipper closed for added security (except for the top zipper).The top bars themselves are metal, but the locking mechanism uses plastic sleeves. I can see that being the potential weak point in the whole design, so I’ll keep an eye on it over time and let you know how it holds up.Breakdown is super easy:Lock the side and front zippers.Unzip the top.Disconnect the upper tubes using the spring-loaded sleeves (slide them back).Use the supplied rubber bands to fasten the tubes to the vertical tubes (optional but helpful).Unsnap the bottom tube hinges.Zip the top zipper back up.Push the netting inside and fold everything together.Snap the two fasteners to hold it closed.It’s compact and easy to store—and I’m loving it. Now I just need an extra-large one for my big dogs!

Super comfy dog crate!
This thing is solid! It looks awesome too! We chose the small size thinking our 20 lb cat might prefer this on long car rides. He seems cramped in his current carrier. I think we may have overcompensated a bit! This thing is tall!! It’s way more space than we need for our short and stocky cat. If you have a long and lean pup in the small/midsize range, this would be perfect. Plenty of space to stretch and stand. We had it set up for a few days and my two cats thought it was the best new bed! It’s big enough for both of them to hang out in, and they willingly jumped in many times! It’s obviously comfortable and it folds up quickly and easily. I think this is a fantastic buy, just pay attention to the dimensions!

The moment I saw this Gardner Pet Soft Collapsible Dog Crate I knew it would be perfect for my 13 year old Mane Coon Cross Mix cat to take him to the vet, etc. And I was right. However, we also just recently adopted an 8 week old kitten, and to try and keep him safe as we introduce his scent to the rest of the cats in the household, we have been keeping him in it. It has proven to be a great crib/playpen. And because the resident cats can see him and smell him and he them, the introduction has been going great.The size I ordered was the small but it’s plenty big to fit my Mane Coon and he really liked the soft waterproof insert that came with it. When I first unpacked it he was very curious and I opened all the mesh windows and he settled down in it right away as did my other two female cats. Slowly, I closed up the mesh and none of them were upset or tried to get out as the airflow was great and they could see out which keeps them very calm. In fact, with the male kitten currently using it my female cats have been hissy about not being able to go into it for naptime, lol.I found that carrying it by the two handles was quite easy, even with the cats inside of it, as it wasn’t overly heavy and cleaning it out has been a breeze since its made of waterproof material. All I need to do is get a wet cloth and its clean once more. The material used for the main sections plus the mesh is nice and thick with really good stitching and I see it lasting for some time to come. There is also a pocket on the top that can hold any necessary items to keep our fur babies happy. Also putting it together was so simple, just connecting two inside bars after unfolding it and packing it away is just as simple. I really like the fact it folds up and will take up so little space till its needed in comparison to the large plastic crate I was using previously.This has proven to be such a huge improvement to the comfort I can provide my babies, especially my big boy, when needing to transport them. And for those wanting to use this when going camping or traveling long distances this would be a much more comfortable option.I highly recommend this one to any small pet owner.

I ordered this because we are dogsitting a medium sized beagle and he is crate trained so I’m hoping he’ll be more relaxed with a crate to go into. This one is the perfect size for him. Our own dog is a labrador setter mix and is large but not as large as they can get. He fits in but the crate being light and collapsible it tends to flop around a bit when he’s moving around trying to get comfortable. Given that I’d say it’s perfect for medium dogs but for large dogs you might have issues.The crate packs up into a small square that is very light and easy to carry around. You could probably just throw it into the back of our SUV and leave it there for when you need it on trips. Quality wise it’s quite strong. There are handles that you can use to lift it when a dog is inside and they hold well. There are side bars that need to be set in place when assembling the crate. I think there are most likely to be where failures occur if you tried to lift the crate with a very heavy dog inside. One thing to note when assembling for the first time. Some of the bars are folded over and held with elastic bands that some dogs might chew. They aren’t needed so I cut them off.There is an included furry soft base that is quite nice. Your dog might like their own bed or blanket in the crate but if you had it folded up in a car I think the included base would be comfortable enough for most dogs.I think this is a nice useful backup or travel crate that most people with small to medium dogs would get good use out of.
