However, I decided to give it a try because our master bedroom consistently gets about 9°F warmer than our downstairs, creating an uncomfortable sleeping environment. Let me tell you, this little device has been an absolute game-changer!The sensor was incredibly easy to set up – it paired seamlessly with our Google Nest Thermostat through the Google Home app in just a few minutes. The quality feels solid, with a sleek, unobtrusive design that blends into our bedroom decor. Placing it in our master bedroom allowed us to prioritize that room’s temperature, and now our thermostat adjusts based on the sensor’s readings rather than the downstairs temperature. Excellent for townhome
This works great. My thermostat is on the 2nd floor and I live in GA. It is so hot and the air downstairs wouldn’t cool. I put one of these sensors in my living room (townhome) and now my downstairs is nice and cool.

Easy to install and worked great with my nest. I can monitor the temp on all floors now. Only had it for 3 months so I am curious on the battery life and how I replace them.

If you have a Google nest thermostat that is compatible with these sensors and can justify the average of $50 per cents cost then these might actually be something that can improve your heating and cooling needs in your house, granted you follow the instructions and use them as their intended to be used.The trick with these sensors is to see which room or rooms have a much different temperature than the rest of them and then you open and close your vent registers as needed to average it out.For example, if your bedroom is 5° more than your living room, close your bedroom register and keep your living room register open. This will force more air to the room that is needed.Caution note, however: try different variations and monitor overtime to be on the safe side as if you have a lot of events closed and one open it may get too hot in one room or another. It takes some back-and-forth and different trial and error periods.After fiddling with it for quite some time, you should see a little bit of a difference or a lot, depending on the difference in temperature and the type of vents that are installed in your house.They’re easy to pair to the Google home app, which is also set up to my Alexa app, but it only lets me control the main thermostat through Alexa not the individual sensors.Overall worked well for us so we can regulator house, but it’s very expensive, especially if you have several

I added the Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd Gen) to my living room to help with some temperature imbalance. Setup was simple through the Google Home app. It helps the thermostat prioritize that space, especially during the day. The difference isn’t huge, but it’s noticeable. Battery life seems good. Overall, it’s a decent upgrade if you’re already using a Nest system.
