The Grip-On Curved Jaw Locking Pliers are a great all purpose tool used for gripping round objects. The no-pinch lever allows for an effortless release of the locking mechanism and the newly designed teeth profile. 10x more spatter resistant with the orange epoxy coating.
SPANISH MADE: high quality materials for an extremely durable tool
GENERAL PURPOSE: for firmly gripping round objects
EPOXY RESIN COATING: coated handles are 10x more spatter-free than nickel plated handles
THREADED OPENING SCREW: for easy jaw resizing
FORGED JAWS: redesigned teeth profile for greater strength and durability
QUICK RELEASE: no pinch lever easily unlocks the pliers
Customers say
Customers find these locking pliers to be better than Irwin Vice-Grips and well-made, with a nice paint job. The release mechanism, durability, functionality, and ease of opening receive mixed reviews – while some say they work better than regular vice grips and open with ease, others report issues with smooth operation and durability. The value for money is also debated, with some considering it worth the price while others question the high-end pricing.

A really nice tool!
I bought this tool after looking at reviews to replace a decades-old Craftsman “vice grips” with the old style release (if you have had a tool like this, you’ve seen itâ¦you have to have the adjustment screw turned to just the right place in order to be able to release the jaws easily, and it is very easy to get thwacked as the just pop open “you get a finger pinched). This models opening technique is very different, and very gentle. For the long one, I would highly recommend this tool. But in addition to this important feature, overall it is a higher quality tool than the decades old Craftsman it is replacing. I recommend it highly.

Its weight in gold…
I guess mine are 5 years old now, so maybe quality has degraded since then.I hope not, because mine are AMAZING!I put a little lube into the adjuster screw, and the thing just works.Again, mine are 5 years old, and the finish is still basically new. The jaws have a little epoxy coat flaking, but no effect on the performance. It’s comfortable to use. The finish is smooth, and the contours are nicely rounded. The screw turns easily when released. I’ve never pinched myself with the release bar. The release bar always moves smoothly. And the GRIP, oh, the grip. I just used this to free a corroded battery from a cheap, totally round, slippery flashlight. The grip was perfect: no slip, not too loose, not too tight. Try that with Channellocks. (I have both and really like both, but they’re different tools for different uses.)I’m actually back reviewing this because I just used it to remove a stuck inner CV link. The cup is metal and hooked into the transmission pretty tightly. I was unable to pry it or grab it with a slide hammer. Enter the Grip On. Snapped it in place on one side of the cup. Hooked a piece of the slide hammer into some open space in the locked jaw. Couple taps. Changed position to the other side of the cup. Couple taps. Clunk, out. Just a few minutes. If the tool can hang on despite a 5-pound slide hammer yanking on it, that’s GRIP!Buy one! It locks and yanks or twists darn near ANYTHING!

Same as Snappy. Much less $$$$
Probably the best vice grips out there besides the OGs. Malco perhaps. But these are great pliers

The very first time I used this tool, it BROKE !! I am VERY ANGRY!!
This tool had a great review by Wirecutter… So, I bought it for myself after Christmas (because no one picked it from my Amazon Wish List). I was using it just yesterday, to help me hold & tighten bolts in a new Wood rack that I’d also purchased some weeks back. I was almost done with the job, and put the tool down for a few minutes (did not drop or mishandle it). Mysteriously, when I picked it back up to finish the job, I realized the inner piece that provides the tension/lock had come out of the groove in which it should slide. This really pi**es* me off!I would gladly return this, but Amazon indicates I missed the return date by a few days. GRRRRR….

Quality wasn’t what I expected
My intended use was to grip onto rounded or stuck fasteners to attempt to remove them. The orange paint had been applied a little too well and was in the threads of the adjusting screw. This made adjusting the jaws very difficult in the beginning but after removing the screw and cleaning the threads it was no longer an issue.I remain disappointed with the locking ability of the tool. Specifically, I would clamp it on a bolt and attempt to turn the nut but the jaws would loosen up and allow the bolt to turn. The paint job was very nice and I appreciate the bright orange. It makes finding the tool in a tool box or bag easy. Jaws seemed to be very well machined and there was no deformation during use.

Simply the best
These pliers are outstanding! I promise you will not be let down. The steel is all heavy gauge, the rivets are solid, and the epoxy coating feels great in the hand. The design is arguably better than the original Vise Grips, because the release lever is pulled rather than pushed to release the pliers. The epoxy coating is very uniform, and durable. It feels like a lifetime tool from the moment that you pick it up.The tragedy of the rice grips (Chinese made locking pliers) has become a pretty big issue for anyone looking for a lifetime pair of locking pliers. These Grip-On pliers are the solution. Snap On actually rebrands these because they are so awesome. I suggest buying them here because they are exactly the same, just at a lower cost than you would pay from the Snap on truck.I cannot say enough good things about these pliers. Absolutely worth every penny.

Solid locking pliers
I haven’t had a lot of chances to use them yet, but so far so good. Strong grip, very smooth action, big solid jaw teeth, and a very smooth release mechanism. No popping or jumping open. Used them so far to hold drywall in place while making repairs; nice handy tool.

I bought this to replace my 30 year old Irwin Vice Grips after reading the negative comments on some other brands. I do not like the paint job on it and would prefer a bare metal tool but otherwise it’s a fantastic replacement for the original. I can definitely see myself using this for the next 30 years, even if the paint flakes off.*5 years later it still works just fine. The paint looks like garbage, as expected. I still have my original Irwin, the screw will barely turn and the rust has taken most of it. No rust or stiffness on the Grip-on…so far. For the price I feel like I have my money’s worth.
