Great light, but meant for new construction, so check your installation environment if doing rework!
I installed ten of these under a balcony at my church, replacing 30-year-old dome lights. It was a nightmare, because I had to work through the very small cutout. Also, the balcony had metal strips for attaching the drywall, so cutting the drywall was not easy. Every light was a little different. Also, the wiring ran in flex conduit, and had very little slack. The existing junction boxes were mounted on threaded rod coming from a steel beam above. I had to remove the junction box, disconnect the conduit and wiring, loosen the nuts that held the threaded rod to the steel beam and thread it up and out of the way so I could work. I wanted to attach the supplied junction box to the rod, but it was just impossible to do it working through the tiny opening (I think it was 8″ in diameter). Reattaching the conduit to the new J-box was incredibly difficult. When installing, you will need clearance above the drywall for the hinged fasteners. There are three, spaced at 120 degree intervals. If you think you can install these where an old light used a J-box nailed to a stud, you will need to cut the J-box out of the ceiling, because you have to use the attached J-box (it has the color temperature selection switch). The lights themselves are awesome-looking. They are very bright, though, and I had to install a triac dimmer, since the existing circuit wasn’t wired for 0-10V dimming. Because I installed 10, I was above the 150W limit, so make sure if you install a dimmer that you get a proper wattage one. They dimmed beautifully using a Lutron Diva, with no flickering, even at very low levels. So in summary, the lights are beautiful, very high quality, but very difficult to install as rework. Check to see what you’re getting into before you purchase. I spent 2-3 hours on each light.

Excellent, will buy more
High quality lighting with adjustable colour temperature, easy to install, compact, bright (maybe too bright?), broad beam spread, bdimmable, low-key modern look. Probably a bit more expensive that other options, but they look good and work well. Planning to buy more for other locations.Note:If you want to adjust the brightness without using a dimmer, get the one that has both colour temp and brightness adjustments in the supplied junction box. It not dimmable, but you have 4-5 brightness options.

Long life and better quality light.
We installed several of these pop in lights when renovating 3 years ago. We have since replaced two of them from other brands, but the Halo ones have so far had no issues.

Just ok
Good when they work. Iâve notice after a few months we have some that are the flicking on and off which truly sucks. Iâve already had to replace 3 in less than a year.

Easily installed. Just a bit brighter than we would like, even with the dimmer on low.
