Perfect for 3D printed parts
Use this for 3 D printed parts requiring tight bonds. Worked well. Iron temp is easy to adjust. Inserts fit well and hold up under repeated use.

Great bit of kit
This is a slick little piece of kit for people who are into 3d printing and using metric inserts. It was much more than I was expecting, with the took coming with 380 inserts from 2-8 mm as well as 1/4-20. The tool itself is actually a temperature controlled soldering iron with a sturdy silicone sleeve over the hot pointy end. There are individual swappable tips for each size of insert. The iron is nicely sized and easy to handle, heating quickly. Just pick the size, install it on the iron, turn it on and when ready, press the insert into place. For those who are not quite comfortable placing inserts, there are of number of print-it-yourself plans available: Some of which require you to heat set inserts so you can heat set inserts. 😕

Pay attention!
Make sure to hold perfectly or it will make your screws crooked.

Tip beds easily!
Great for uses around the house and the included kit is great. No idea why the tip continuously bends but it came with a replacement
Laurie teague –
Perfect fit
Works exactly the way they said it did.

Case of inserts is smaller than shown. Also, while the inserts are accurate in size, they are thin and likely not going to hold securely

Perfect for what I needed. Very easy to melt nuts into 3d printed parts

Looks good, has all the items you need BUT plug is not safe for use in the UK. It is not fused and I suspect the wire is coated aluminium which means it can get hot and melt under high load. These problems means that it is not safe to use.
