Pro artist heat defense instant detangling mist and straight heat protectant
The detangling mist actually helped with the frizz that my shampoo normally leaves behind. It also helped improve my shine. What I didn’t like about it was that it was fairly sticky and even after blow drying my hair, I could feel that stickiness. The straight heat product didn’t necessarily add shine. Because my straightener already does that, I could tell that there was no difference. I’m glad that it does protect though. The only thing I don’t like about it is that it felt very heavy on my hair. Both of these products are nice, but they have qualities that I am not fond of. Overall I can neither recommend nor not recommend these products.

Great set! I LOVE the Straightening Serum the most!
These come in a nice outer product box. Each bottle is a short, small bottle made of plastic. The Detangling Mist sprays and the Straight Heat Serum pumps out. Theyâre made in USA. They have cruelty free logo (Leaping Bunny).I like to let my hair air dry if I can, but thereâs times I am in a hurry and need to blow dry my hair. But I ALWAYS straighten my hair once itâs dry, so Iâm always looking for products that will help protect my hair from heat because itâs already thin, fine and damaged. Iâd like to avoid more damage if possible. Both of these claimed to protect against up to 455 degrees Fahrenheit, and I always use well below that. So I thought theyâd be good to try.The instructions didnât say exactly which to use first or second, or if youâre meant to use both together. But, the instructions did say that the Detangling Mist is the âfirst step to effortless styling,â and since itâs a Detangling Mist, I figured it would be used first. But, itâs also supposed to protect against heat, so I wasnât sure if you were meant to use the Detangling Mist at the same time as the Straight Heat Serum. It didnât say, so I tried them each on their own and together.The Detangling Mist sprays out nice and even. It isnât too harsh. It says to spray root to tip on damp hair. It feels nice on the hair. It didnât weigh down my thin, fine hair. Since my hair is so thin and fine, I donât really have a Detangling problem. But I do get some tangles, so I tried it out. It seemed to help. But, my friend has long, thick hair that gets really tangled. So I tried it on hers and it did really help with her hair! As for heat protection, I can never really tell if they work to protect my hair from heat damage. It seemed to work fine. This left my hair looking really nice and soft, smooth, and with a nice shine without looking greasy or weighed down like a lot of products can be with my fine, thin hair.The Straight Heat Serum is supposed to work to give âinstant, sleek straight styles that last up through 3 washes.â With this it says apply roots to tips and then blow dry and straighten to âactivate and achieve sleek styles.â This feels nice and lightweight in my hair. It didnât weigh it down at all or make it look or feel greasy (which, again, with my very fine, thin hair, so many products can make my hair feel and look greasy with even just a tiny amount). This did seem to work when activated with heat. It left my hair really smooth with a nice shine to it. It felt really soft. I didnât have fly aways and frizz like I usually do. It looked really smooth! BUT, it didnât last through 3 washes. It was back to my usual wavy, frizzy hair after I washed it. I had to reapply it to get the effect again.When used together, I didnât notice anything too different. I do feel like maybe it was a little too much product. Like maybe it looked a little greasy? My boyfriend said it didnât, but I felt like it did. So I prefer to use one or the other. But my favorite is definitely the Straight Serum since I always straighten my hair. Overall, I will definitely buy the Straight Serum before I run out! I really enjoy that! The Detangling Mist is nice, but since I donât really struggle with tangle issues, itâs kind of lost on me. But, my friend absolutely loved it and went and bought some for herself after she tried mine! So if you do have tangle issues, thatâs a great product too! I give them both 5 stars!

Excellent straightening duo
My teen daughter with super curly hair uses this set to straighten her hair once in a while. She really loves this set for the super detailed instructions and dosing guide, excellent, very fine mist spray, great smell and very gentle effect on her hair. She cherishes her full, luxurious curls and when she once a blue moon feels like straightening her hair this is her trusted set to do the trick with proper care and due caution. Simply the best!

This is a nice little two pack of detangler and heat protectant/straightening serum. The presentation is great and would work very well for a gift to the hair enthusiast in your life. Really for me thereâs only one big drawback. The price is a little high for what youâre getting. Hot tools is a brand thatâs known for giving you high-quality heat tools for your hair that arenât ridiculously overpriced. I feel like they may have forgotten that when it comes to creating these products. Overall theyâre both really great and Iâm happy to have them, but I donât know that I would purchase again at this price point. The detangler comes in a bottle thatâs very easy to hold, the mist is nice and fine for even distribution, and the scent is very light and pleasant. The heat protectant/straightener did a very good job of helping to protect my hair and tame my flyaways. As a heat protectant, I feel as though it takes quite a bit of time to tell whether or not a product is truly helping your hair so I canât speak to that aspect of it quite yet. The claim that it lasts through up to three hair washes is interesting and Iâve only tested it up to two and it does seem to work. I donât know what magic they use, but it really does seem to work. I will say my biggest caution for you for this set other than the high price point for the low quantity of product that you receive was the fact that you really have to start with very little product and work your way up. It is so easy to go overboard and end up with sticky, crunchy, heavy hair that wonât do anything and you have to wash your hair again in order to get everything out and start from scratch. For me, it only took about five pumps for my whole head of the detangling mist to work, six was way too much and four was not enough. As for the heat protectant/straightener serum two pumps was too many, realistically I only needed one maybe one and a half. I will state my hair is very thin and weighs down very easily so often I need the barest minimum of product in order it to work. So, for anyone out there whose hair is like mine they should know start very slow. Trust those of us whoâve done the reviews for you , weâve done what we can so you donât suffer like we did.
