So far so good.
So far, so good. I’ve had this for a couple of weeks. It replaced another 17″ laptop that was almost 6 years old and the improved performance is impressive. Screen is clear and bright, although light reflection is a bit annoying in the daytime. No light behind the keyboard but I am a touch typist and it doesn’t bother me. Wifi performance is better than my old computer’s ethernet. I miss having an on board CD/DVD drive, but the external one has done okay. However, it’s just one more thing to keep up with. I have been trying to convert from my mouse to the touchpad, and it is easier to do with this one. The touchscreen has been useful. On board speakers are weak and tinny sounding, but I use headphones mostly anyway. Surprisingly, this computer still has a headphone /microphone port. Have used a USB hub with no problems.

Great buy
Great laptop for the price. It sets up easily, the Microsoft Office is already there, and it is free, and it has a number pad on the keyboard. I was able to easily network this laptop to the network at my home office and access all my documents. The price makes this a steal.

UPDATE AGAIN: After two days of trying to get help – HP states warranty is void because it is not the model specs they sell. Amazon refuses to help stating it is HP responsibility. Iâm stuck with NO SUPPORT.UPDATE: // Touchpad is awful. Worked on it for a month. Google reports it is a chronic problem with hp laptops. That alone has been so frustrating that I definitely would not purchase hp laptops again.// Had to drop a star. This arrived fine. Home network setup was a bear but I blame that on a mix of Win 10/11 on my network. As for the unit, Iâm happy except for the touch pad. Chronic problems with it sticking and selecting everything it touches. Finally just turned off the function for multiple window select.

Extremely Poor HP Customer Support
I am very unhappy with this purchase for many reasons. I have been using an LG laptop for years and decided it was time for a new laptop. I thought I would buy American and selected this HP computer only to learn that it is made in China. Not a huge deal, but if your goal is to buy American, you are not with this laptop.I have spent nearly an entire day trying to connect two external monitors. I plugged one monitor into the HDMI port and the other into a hub connected to the USB-C port. I cannot get the monitor connected to the hub to connect. I used a different hub with no success. Both hubs work seamlessly, displaying both external monitors with the old LG laptop I am trying to replace.I contacted HPâs Customer Service, which was useless. I asked one simple question, âCan this laptop accommodate two external monitors?â Customer Service transferred me to their âpaidâ support line. I was told I would need to pay a flat fee or get a monthly subscription to find out this basic information. I hung up and called Customer Service again. The second person I spoke to was equally unhelpful, informing me that he cannot provide that information. He said he would be happy to transfer me to their âpaidâ support line. No thanks. I have since spent several hours trying to research the answer to this simple, basic question.The laptop came with no ownerâs manual, nor even a QR code I could scan to download a manual. On the back of the computer is a very small QR code that will not scan and very faint print that makes the model number nearly unreadable.The laptop also came with an â8 in 1â hub that is inadequate. Of the 8 ports, none is an HDMI port. Because HP Customer Support is so unhelpful, I have been left to purchase multiple hubs and devices to try to successfully connect a third monitor. This is a colossal waste of time due to the lack of support from HP.One important piece of information I have derived from this experience is that I will never purchase another product from HP again due to the fact that they provide virtually no customer service.
