Nice
I’ve been using these electrical crimp pliers regularly for wiring projects, and I have to say, theyâre an essential tool for anyone working with connectors. A good pair makes all the difference between a solid, professional connection and a frustrating, unreliable one.Build Quality:The pliers I use have a sturdy, all-metal construction with ergonomic, rubberized grips. They feel solid in the hand and provide enough leverage to crimp firmly without much effort. The ratcheting mechanism ensures consistent pressure, which helps avoid over- or under-crimping.Performance:They handle a variety of connector sizes, especially insulated terminals, non-insulated connectors, and sometimes even ferrules. The color-coded dies or indicators are very helpful for matching the correct wire gauge. Crimps come out tight and secure every time, with minimal deformation of the connector.Ease of Use:After a little practice, the process is quick and intuitive. Insert the terminal and wire, squeeze until the ratchet releases, and youâre done. The tool locks in place until the crimp is complete, which helps prevent half-done crimps.Downsides:Some cheaper models may have misaligned jaws or inconsistent ratcheting, so it’s worth investing a bit more for a reliable brand. Also, while versatile, one crimper may not cover every type of terminalâso a multi-tool or interchangeable die set can be useful if you’re working with a variety of connectors.Overall:Electrical crimp pliers are a must-have for clean, strong, and professional wire terminations. A good-quality pair saves time, prevents electrical issues, and makes your work look top-notch. Highly recommended for DIYers, auto techs, and electricians alike.

For the most part, well worth the money.
Review wire crimpersJust received my open barrel crimpers. I was hesitant about ordering these because they were not a ratcheting type. For the price, I was afraid they would have a poor construction quality. So far, Iâm impressed. The handles appear to be physically attached and not just slipped over the handles so they donât just slip off. The handles also have a nice feel and finish. They appear to be a harder plastic but have just a little give which should keep your wrist from getting sore after multiple crimps. Tho the tool does not have a ratcheting action it also is not just a single pivot action like some crimpers. It actually has three pivot points which causes the claws to close evenly as opposed to a single pivot where it would close on an angle. There is a locking latch for securing the tool in the closed position. Typically these latches are the worse things ever. I have thrown out more crimpers because a poorly designed latch that constantly activates and locks the tool making you fight it almost every crimp. At first, when I saw how lose the locking latch pivoted I was disappointed. However, after using it, Iâm kinda impressed. Whether by design or by accident, the locking lever is loose enough that when the tool is locked you can easily unlock it automatically by lightly squeezing the handle a couple of times and the latch will slide up past the catch and unlock. That makes unlocking very easy without having to physically manipulate the latch. Ultimately time is going to tell what the quality of the tool really is. I would have given it 5 stars but I will reserve that last star due to a concern over the spring that pulls the tool into the open position. It looks like that spring is going to be the weakest link. It looks like itâs too small and just barely does the job of opening the tool. I can easily see how the spring is going to either break or stretch and no longer function properly. The spring does not seem to be easily repairable but should be possible because the tool is not riveted together rather it has locking nuts on the main pivot pins making it possible to potentially disassemble and repair. Overall, Iâm pleased with the quality and the cost. Came packed well enough and the tool was ready to use right out of the package.

Great tool, makes perfect crimps, less frustration than other crimpers.
Accurate crimping of Weatherpack terminals. The ratcheting mechanism makes the job easier and it also prevents over-crimping of the terminal itself. The tool is a bit heavier than most, but it is well constructed, high quality, has well padded handles, and the ability to not to loose itâs grip on the terminal you are working on make it worth while. I own several icrimp tools for other applications (PEX clamps, for example) and prefer them over some higher priced crimpers that donât have the capabilities of this tool. Iâve used it on 30+ terminals so far and would give it an excellent rating.
