Customers say

Customers find these deck screws work well, with one mentioning they drove perfectly with their DeWalt cordless impact driver, and consider them good value for money. The durability receives mixed feedback – while some report they don’t break or strip, others find them of terrible quality. Several customers note that some screws arrive bent.

Nice Rustproof Screws with TORX Heads
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I updated the railing on my deck and I needed longer screws that would not rust.  These fit the bill and I loved the TORX heads.  They drove perfectly will my DeWalt cordless impact. Ease of use:TORX head design.

    These worked
These worked for the bed I was making. This was to screw 2/4 legs to a 2X6 footbard and head board. These mostly worked but I did have trouble getting them to screw all the way into the end of one of the four joints I was making. It takes a lot of torque to get the screws all the way into the wood when you are traveling this distance. If I was to do it again, I wouldn’t use these screws. Instead I would use a pocket jig, available her on amazon where you make an angled hole into one piece of wood, stopping short of going through the other side, so you can “toe-screw” The pieces together. I would use shorter screws that would go in easier. And by the way, I make the hold bigger than the shaft of these screws (but smaller than the head of these screws) in the first piece of wood, and drilled a pilot hole into the second piece of wood to minimize the resistance to the screw. Still couldn’t get one of the 4 joints I needed to work. I had to put a metal face plate across the two pieces of wood to make it strong and secure. So, rethink if there is a different way of joining large pieces of wood together rather than using big long screws like this. And by the way, you need a torx drill bit, not a Phillips drill bit for this set of screws..

Likely to get a few defective screws in each pack.
The first package I received was open and missing a few screws. I’m not sure if that happened at the factory, or at the Amazon warehouse, etc. The package was promptly replaced, so, no worries there (unless you really needed them ASAP, but then I’d have driven to a big box store for some.)The new package arrived. However, the problem was that 2 of the screws either had too much of the coating on them, or perhaps were cast poorly and had additional material in the head, so the star bit would not fit into them. This renders those 2 screws useless (it was impossible to remove the material, whatever it was.)The remaining screws worked just fine; time will tell if they hold up to corrosion. So, these are fine, and a good price, but you may have a few that you cannot use, which may actually make them less of a good deal afterall, if you’re unlucky like me. It wasn’t worth the effort to attempt to get just 2 of them replaced.

My fence is falling apart and I’ve been avoiding replacing posts, I’ve come up with some creative ideas to make things last and these screws have helped. They are torx so you need the proper drive head, but they are solid. Very easy to work with and do the job. I have to fix some deck boards next season and these will come in handy. I’m not upto date on pricing but these come out to about $0.50/screw and I think that’s actually pretty good unless you’re buying in serious bulk.

These seem to be fairly well made screws. The treads are cut okay, and the so is the head. My one concern is that they do not specifically list that they are suitable for ACQ lumber, which eats regular fasteners for breakfast! I’m reluctant to use them in ACQ lumber, so for now, will only be using them in cedar. As time goes on, I’ll update my review if need be.

Over the winter, a couple of planks broke out of my step and I had to replace them. Unfortunately I didn’t have any screws so I had to order some. They seem to be working and holding well so far.I think the main thing to focus on with these screws are the fact that they screw in easily, and it would take a lot to actually strip the screw head. It uses a torx screwdriver which I wasn’t actually sure if I had or not but thankfully my father left a lot of tools to me when he passed away so I was able to find one and when I removed the two damaged planks from the step and replace them with new ones, these screws did a perfect job of screwing down through completely and holding things securely. Now I have tons left over and whenever I need to replace a couple more planks, or the full step, I’ll have these in reserve to do the job that’s needed. It’s actually kind of hard to give a good review to screws because they either work or they don’t. These ones work. They don’t feel cheap, they don’t seem like they would break easily, and they bite through the wood screw through relatively easy. If you don’t need a drill to screw through a plank, then you know the screw is doing a good job of cutting through the wood itself.

These deck screws have the torx heads, which are harder to strip and the bit grips better. The size required for these is the T-25 size. They have a sharp self-tapping end that makes them easy to start even in hard wood.

For as long as I can remember I’ve been a big proponent of Robertson Whitehorse screws, or the square head screws if you prefer, but as much as I’ve loved them………well I’ve hated them too!The slot head screws are a nightmare to work with, and the Philips screws (or stars), always seem to strip because you just never have the right bit for them.Robertsons are the same way with a poor bit, but usually a new bit will fix the problem……..but just once. These Torx head screws are knew to me, but holy smoke do I ever like them already!!I just bought a box of 1000 screws of 2 inch all the way up to 4”, but I would gladly trade them all in for these new Torx bit ones! How many times have you reused a screw…..maybe twice if you were lucky, but I drove this Torx head screw into a piece of wood for times and it was still going strong. In the attached video you will notice the finish was coming off where the bit attaches to the screw, but that’s because I had already driven it into the 2×4 a couple of times before I started recording.I realize that these are more expensive than the traditional screws that we are all use to, but boy I think I’m a convert already.I could only find a T20 bit in my disaster of a shop, but it worked great.
