Customers say
Customers find the robotic vacuum effective at cleaning floors and appreciate its advanced navigation system that maps rooms in about 15 minutes. The device is easy to set up and use, moves smoothly between different surfaces, and is surprisingly quiet. However, functionality and durability receive mixed reviews – while some say it does its job well, others report it stops working after a month, and while some find it dependable, others report poor quality. Additionally, battery life is a concern as the vacuum runs out of charge every 20 minutes.

Surprisingly Easy and Effective
I’ve only used the Roomba for three days, but I’m already impressed with how convenient it is. I wasn’t sure what to expect since this is my first time using a robot vacuum, but it’s been really easy to set up and use right out of the box. It does a great job picking up everyday dust (see pics), crumbs, and hair, things I didn’t even notice before. I don’t have pets, but I still fell like my floors are noticeably cleaner. It moves smoothly around furniture and gets into corners better than I thought it would, check out the pics.I also like that it returns to its charging station on its own when it’s done, it did it once during a scheduled cleaning, and the maps of cleaning is super helpful on the app. Did I mention, I can schedule it on my app, picks zones (rooms) and give different schedules. It does the mapping once and it gave an accurate map the very first time. One thing that stood out is how much time and effort it saves. Instead of dragging out a vacuum every day, I can just let Roomba run while I do other things. It’s not very loud either, which was a nice surprise.Even in just few days, I can see how helpful it’s going to be for keeping my place clean with minimal effort. If you’ve never tried robot vacuum before, this is a great way to get started and you don’t have to clean behind it, it auto dumps into a collector (check pics). That can be emptied once a month or more. Thanks Roomba!

A game changer for a clean home!!!
I absolutely LOVE my iRobot Roomba® 105 Vac Robot Vacuum + AutoEmpty Dock! It has completely transformed the way I keep my home clean. As someone who likes things neat and tidy but doesnât always have time to vacuum daily, this has been a total game-changer.The vacuum does an excellent job picking up dirt, dust, and pet hairâeven in those hard-to-reach corners. Iâm always amazed at how much it collects, even when I thought the floors looked clean. The smart navigation system is impressive tooâit moves around furniture and transitions between rugs and hard floors seamlessly. What I love most is the AutoEmpty Dock. It empties the vacuum for me, which means I can go weeks without having to think about vacuuming or emptying a dustbin. Itâs truly a âset it and forget itâ kind of appliance, which is perfect for a busy household. The app is super user-friendly, and I love being able to schedule cleanings or start a cycle from my phone. Itâs quiet, efficient, and dependableâand it gives me one less chore to worry about. If youâre on the fence, donât be. This Roomba has exceeded all my expectations and is worth every penny. Clean floors with zero effort? Yes, please!

Lifesavers
This is a great little robot that is not going to break the bank. I see there are some really high-priced versions of Roomba that I think are not necessary. At least for me, with a 900 sqf apartment, this works great! The set up was fairly easy. It did take about 10-20 minutes. Then the device mapped out the room. It is a bit of a pain that you have to move things around for it, but ultimately, this is just how it is going to be for robots. They are great for daily use, but for a deep cleaning that goes into everything, you will either need to move things from the floor or use a regular vacuum. It did a pretty good job cleaning up! It first goes around the sides of your space, then does through the middle. Which is much better than the old models without the Lidar system. One thing I noticed, it went back to empty and then went to clean again for about 1 minute, then it needed to go to the charger. I wish it would either just finish before charging, or empty and just charge, and then do the cleaning. Not a big deal but they could figure this out better so it doesn’t go back and forth.I saw the pricier model’s dock was way bigger, so I love how small this is. It looks quite sleek and nice for a robot as well.Overall, I think it was well worth the money!

Walk Away – you are better off with a broom
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. This was my 4th Roomba and I ignored the reviews that tried to warn me away. I had it in service for about a week when it totally lost the ability to stop at stairs and took a tumble all the way to the bottom. When I picked it up, it was still running but when placed on the floor it just went around and around in circles. I could not turn it off or redock and had to let the battery run down. I had been out of town after it arrived and it was past the 30 days to return to Amazon. I went to IRobot – you have to email or chat. No phone calls allowed. I got customer service to respond after a few days and they had me troubleshoot it and finally determined it was dead the entire unit had to be replaced. Great – then they gave me a new customer service tech who wanted to me to start all over with the test. I asked for a supervisor. No response. Every email from IRobot says that cases are only open for 7 days and no response in that time means they have closed the case. After about 6 weeks, I contacted Amazon about the lack of response and they got involved and got me a refund. Got to give it to Amazon, their customer service is fast, easy and they try hard to take care of you.

Smart, Powerful & Hassle-Free Cleaning
The iRobot Roomba has truly simplified my daily cleaning. Setup was quick, and the LiDAR navigation is incredibly accurate it cleans in neat rows without missing spots. The suction power is strong, and it transitions easily between hardwood and rugs. The Auto Empty Dock is a game changer I havenât had to empty the bin for weeks. The app is easy to use, with accurate mapping and flexible scheduling. Itâs a reliable, time saving upgrade for any home.

Works Well but Quirky Mapping
In a household with an infant and a cat, I am thankful to have any help I can get, and the iRobot Roomba 105 Vacuum with Auto Empty Docking Station is a great help. It comes equipped with a mapping feature that I find difficult to work with despite having low pile rugs, I still found it missing some areas on my floor in need of vacuuming. Admittedly it does well picking up pet hair and cat litter dust off the floor. Itâs also very convenient to include the docking station that will hold up to 75 days of debris since I donât have time to empty the Roomba each day.

This was our first venture into robot vacuums. In general we were very impressed with its performance. One observation is that if you suffer from pet hair then get the model specifically designed for that. We only have “visitor” dogs yet the hair was sufficient to clog the vacuum. However the design is such that it is easy to clean

This Roomba 105 robot vacuum has truly impressed me with its performance and features. The package contains the vacuum and base station along with a safety guide and warranty booklet. There is no user manual included with the packaging. You need to scan a code on the safety guide to access the user manual online or to download it.The user manual does a good job of walking you through the steps to properly setup the vacuum, but this is not a 5 minute process so allow lots of time for setup. Once you have placed the vacuum and base station in the desired location, you need to download the Roomba Home app, create an account, and connect the vacuum to your home Wi-Fi. After that, you’ll need to set the vacuum to create a map of your home, a process that can take up to 30 minutes. Once the mapping is complete, let the vacuum charge fully before starting your first cleaning session.I was pleasantly surprised by the accuracy of the mapping process. I placed the vacuum in the lower level of my home, leaving the doors to four rooms open, covering a total area of about 850 square feet. I thought it was a good test as there is a kitchen with a table and chairs, an office space with a desk and chair, a bathroom off of a mudroom, and a large family room with plenty of furniture. The flooring is also a combination of carpets and tile. The mapping took about seven minutes and was so precise that you could clearly see where the furniture was located in each room. I was particularly curious about how the vacuum would handle the bathroom, as there is a step down into the mudroom just outside the bathroom that should prevent it from entering.I’ve run the vacuum twice so far to clean the four rooms in the lower level, and each time it took just under an hour to complete the job. During the first run, the cliff sensors didn’t function properly, causing the vacuum to get stuck on the step down to the mudroom. Fortunately, one of the vacuum’s great features is its ability to alert you via your phone when there’s an issue. I received a notification about the sensor problem and was able to move the vacuum and restart it after blocking access to the mudroom. Before the next run, I thoroughly cleaned the cliff sensors, which appeared a bit dusty. This time, the vacuum performed flawlessly and avoided the step down to the mudroom. I watched the entire cleaning session and was thoroughly impressed by the coverage and suction power. The vacuum initially goes around the perimeter of the space and then works in straight lines to cover every inch of the cleaning area, navigating around obstacles smoothly.Several features of the Roomba 105 stand out to me. First, the home mapping is exceptionalâyou can see every room and any spots where furniture blocks the vacuum. You can then use the app to block off areas you don’t want the vacuum to go into. So I could have blocked off the bathroom/mudroom if I found the cliff sensors did not work well for that drop down. You can also use the app to split rooms or merge rooms so you can then tell the vacuum to only do those areas instead of the entire floor. The vacuum avoids crashing into walls and furniture, thanks to its Lidar mapping and sensors. One of the most convenient features is the self-emptying function. With other robot vacuums I have used, I had to empty the dust bin after each use before I could use it again. I also noticed that sometimes the dustbin was packed full and should have been emptied even before the vacuum was done. With this Roomba 105, the vacuum can sense when the dustbin on the vacuum is full so it will return to base, empty the dust bin, then continue vacuuming from where it left off. There is no need for you to manually clean that dustbin at all. Once the large dust bag on the base is full (after approximately 75 runs of the vacuum), you remove the full bag and replace it with a clean one. The app also lets you schedule recurring cleanings and select specific rooms or the entire mapped space for cleaning. The battery life is impressiveâafter running for about an hour, the battery was still just under 50%, capable of cleaning almost twice the area on a single charge. This vacuum also has a spinning brush on the side that effectively cleans corners and edges. Finally, another cool feature is the ability to link the vacuum with Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant-enabled devices for voice command control. You can also set which devices receive notifications if the vacuum encounters any issues. I have it set up with my Alexa devices, and it works perfectly.Iâve included a video where you can see the cliff sensors in action, preventing the vacuum from dropping down a step. You can also observe the spinning brush working on floor edges and corners, and how the vacuum smoothly navigates without crashing into obstacles.Overall, I am tremendously happy with the performance and features of the Roomba 105 robot vacuum and would highly recommend it.

Itâs been taking 4 days to charge since it as delivered. When it does work it just cleans the same areas over and over again.

I’ve let the Roomba 105 roam around and clean for quite a few days now, and I am thoroughly impressed with its vacuuming capabilities and the way it navigates my home.Vacuuming Capabilities: To start off, my rugs are quite new and untouched, which means they aren’t flattened out from years of foot traffic, so I feel like this helped the Roomba get the deep clean it has been getting since I’ve had it running. Every time the Roomba finishes its clean, it’s noticeable, and my carpets look just like they did when I was using my corded vacuum. I was very happy about this because I wasn’t sure if a robot vacuum would have the suction power and bristle brush work like a corded one has. I can now say that the Roomba 105 definitely has that power, and the bristle brush work is the same, leaving me with a clean-looking carpet. The battery holds up quite well for the amount of suction power it produces while mobile. It will usually sit around 70-75% battery after a full clean on the main floor, which I would imagine is around 800 SQ FT of free floor space. The edge sweeping brush I found to be good for the carpets but also very good on wood flooring, and since I have two dogs, there’s hair everywhere, which the sweeping brush has done a great job at grabbing. Once it’s finished the job, the powerful vacuum inside the home base sucks the dirt out of the Roombaâs dust bin and into a vacuum bag. After 8 days of daily cleaning, the vacuum bag makes it easy to see that all the dirt, dust, and hair is getting cleaned up.Navigational Capabilities: Its navigation is spot on, and I would guess that’s because of its design with the ClearView LiDAR that is located in the disc that stands out on top of the vacuum. I can see it rotating inside when it’s vacuuming, and it’s been very accurate. It stops about half an inch away from the walls and other obstacles and doesn’t have to use its bumper all too often. I did use the Roomba 105 in a dark room, and that’s where I saw it using its bumper more often, but in a well-lit room, that wasn’t the case, and it could see everything in its path. No issues with it completing its cleaning; it has so far always been able to make it back to the home charger with accuracy.Notable Features: I’ll start with the Roomba Home application since it has a simple layout and it’s easy to use. Recognizing the Roomba 105 and pairing it to my Wi-Fi took no longer than 5 minutes, though the update did take a bit of time, around 15 minutes to finish updating the Roomba 105. As the Roomba got started mapping my main floor, I was able to see it on the app, and once itâs finished mapping the rooms, it will show me the whole layout, which then gives me the options to clean all the rooms or just one of the rooms. I can also set an automation with the preferred time and day I would like the Roomba to start cleaning, very handy as I don’t need to go to the app to get things started all the time. I also found it useful that when the Roomba is vacuuming, it will show me on the app in light green the surface area it’s cleaned and the area that still needs to be cleaned, which is in white. It helps me know where to walk as I don’t want to interrupt its cleaning pattern.Another notable feature would be how easy it is to maintain. The casing with the rubber gripper that helps pull the rug up for a deeper clean can be taken off very easily by pushing in the two clips, and the same for the dust bin, which can be taken off by pushing in the two light green release buttons on the backside of the Roomba. The filter is located on top of the dust bin and can be replaced easily when the time comes. I appreciate that there was a spare filter in the box to make it easy for me to quickly get that replacement done. Inside the Home base, where the vacuum bag is kept, there is a brush and a safety cutter, which is great for cleaning any dust build-up on the Roomba along with cutting hair off the bristle brush. Super helpful when it comes time to maintain the vacuum.Overall, I couldnât be happier with the Roomba 105 robot vacuum, and I plan to use and maintain it for as long as possible!
