The JBL GX9628 6×9’s are Incredible as a 2 Ohm stock speaker replacement!
These JBL GX9628 6×9 speakers are superb for factory 2 Ohm speaker replacement. My Nissan Frontier SV Crew Cab with the stock 25 watt stereo output at 2 Ohm’s, had no real lows and the highs were over run with the mid’s. That’s because the speakers could only produce the mid’s clearly. So I go in search of the holy grail of speakers. A speaker that could do it all! Clear high’s, tight low’s and warm colorful mid’s. All happening with a high end aftermarket speaker operating at 2 to 3 Ohm’s. The GX Series does just that! At 2.6 to 2.8 Ohm’s, they don’t kill your output like a 4 Ohm would! And the sound is glorious! Smooth rich tone for days with no flabby bass tones and no shrill ice pick high’s! Even at max volume, no distortion, none, Nadal! If you can find a set to buy, you had better jump on them!

    cheap bastards
I build bluetooth speaker boxes as a hobby, with that being said I buy a lot of speakers. I have been buying cheaper speakers to cut costs and they work great. I decided to buy these JBL speakers because they were on sale. The speakers themselves are fine but unlike the cheap speakers, they did not have any accessories, no mounting screws or any hardware including speaker wire and fittings for the speakers. no templates for cut outs. I WILL NOT BUY THESE AGAIN BECAUSE AT DOUBLE THE PRICE OF THE CHEAPER SPEAKERS , THEY SHOULD COME WITH ALL ACCESSORIES just like the cheap speakers do……..

Good buy for 5th Gen 4Runner w/ JBL
1st upgrade to my 4Runners JBL system was a Dasaita head unit with DSL. Having the EQ was a big improvement. Then I swapped out the dash speakers w/ 3.5” GX JBL’s. From there I swap out the rear hatch and door speakers with 6.5 GX JBL’s. The front 6×9’s were the last OEM speakers left. Also looked at the 2 ohm powerbass 6×9’s mostly because it’s a wolfer without tweeters (knowing no highs go to the front doors). I’m glad I decided to stick to the JBL GX Series. The JBL 6×9’s provide much deeper and cleaner bass than OEM. I was hellbent on bypassing the OEM amp next with an after market one but now I’m having second thoughts because it’s sounds pretty good with all GX JBL’s. Way better than stock anyway. Still curious what a good amp would do but the cost to benefit might not be worth it. In summary, these 6×9’s bump hard with the Toyota OEM JBL system. Fantastic buy for $69, I definitely recommend them.

Nice… do not install in a sealed enclosure.
These are great for a factory upgrade, also can handle 100 watts continuous. Do not install in a sealed enclosure, if you have to use speaker boxes, just use a 3″ hole saw and cut a hole in an inconspicuous area
