What a great way to get some great classic Candy films! Uncle Buck is a family favorite and The Great Outdoors, while not as funny, is a movie that we also enjoy watching. Going Berserk is not family fare but it is a very funny quirky movie that I have loved for years and couldn’t find ANYWHERE. If you liked the old SCTV shows you would love this one (also features Eugene Levy and Joe Flaherty.) It would have been a true Family Classic if it had included Planes, Trains & Automobiles!

Going Berserk is the classical hysterical comedy of all time
Going Berserk (“GB”)is a little known gem w/John Candy & other Second City guys, esp. Eugene Levy. The lines, the “plot”, the actors–are all hysterically funny & over the top throughout.,When Candy died shortly before the Oscars, they did a tribute to him, saying they’d show a short clip from a little known film. I knew it’d be this one, & I knew it’d be the clip when Candy holds a bag of groceries with one hand while his co-escapee, to whom he’s handcuffed, gets down on the other side of a partly locked door. Funnier to see than to read.I’ve used this to cure people who were terrified of oral surgery the next am–80 mins. of total distraction (the movie, not the wisdom teeth).My list of best movies starts w/Animal House, includes GB above, Quick Change, A Fish Called Wanda, Intolerable Cruelty (an eclectic, even haphazard list, granted). Only comedies need apply of course.

Uncle Buckâs Going Berserk In The Great Outdoors!
This 2-disc set is an inexpensive way to get three John Candy movies. The first film, âGoing Berserkâ (1983), starred SCTV members John Candy, Eugene Levy and Joe Flaherty, and was directed by David Steinberg. The jokes were crude and the action predictable. In one scene, John parks a limo heâs driving, and nearly knocks over a bunch of motorcycles lined up in a row. He goes inside a restaurant and gets involved with a fight between the bikers and some punk rockers. After almost getting beat up and spray-painted with the word SORRY, he makes his escape. Driving away he â to the surprise of nobody watching the film â drives into and over the motorcycles. (Ha-ha.) With all of the talent involved, I was very disappointed with the movie.Things greatly improve with the second film, âThe Great Outdoorsâ (1988), which was written by John Hughes. John Candy played a middle-class family man, taking his wife and kids on a vacation to a cabin on a lakeside resort, to get back to nature. Dan Aykroyd played his rich, obnoxious brother-in-law, who showed up at the cabin without being invited. The two have great comedic chemistry, and the setting naturally lends itself to hilarious misadventures. Highlights included John water-skiing, and John and Dan dealing with a pesky bat. The funniest scene is when John is chased by a bear with a bald spot. The bear finally catches up to him and breaks down the door, with John getting caught underneath the door. âThe Great Outdoorsâ also includes two theatrical trailers for the film, which are the only bonus features for any of the movies.The best and funniest movie of the three is âUncle Buckâ (1989), which was written and directed by John Hughes. Because of a family health crisis, Uncle Buck Russell (John Candy) is pressed into service as a baby-sitter for his nephew and nieces. A carefree bachelor and unemployed gambler, Uncle Buck somehow rose to the occasion and took responsibility for the youngsters. A running gag throughout the movie is Buckâs old clunker of a car. It spews so much smoke that, in one scene, a passing driver warns him that his car is on fire. Every time the car stops, it sounds like a gunshot is coming out of the tailpipe! One highlight of the film is a Dragnet-style (just the facts) conversation between Uncle Buck and his nephew Miles Russell, played by a very young Macaulay Culkin. It concludes with the following. Miles: âAre you my Dadâs brother?â Buck: âWhatâs your record for consecutive questions asked?â Miles: â38.â Buck: âIâm your Dadâs brother, alright.â For Milesâ birthday, Uncle Buck makes him a stack of pancakes the size of manhole covers. The movie ends on a heart-warming note, much like the classic âPlanes, Trains and Automobilesâ (1987). Even with the first film, this 3-disc set is well worth the low price.

we got this great movie less than 2 weeks after the order… we was watching it, and have a geaht time, when John had handcuff to the black inmate and run away,and he had a sex and JOHN, have to staying outside the door,great movie great seller, recommend everybody!!!thank you : IRENE

Regio 1 NTSC DVD, stond niet vermeld in de beschrijving. Helaas is dat bij een boel DVDâs op Amazon.nl het geval, zou toch een kleine moeite moeten zijn om bij DVDâs de Regio en beeldsoort te vermelden (al blijft dat hele Regio gedoe onzin m.n. nu er torrents streams etc. zijn).

I was looking for uncle buck when I happened upon this it is basically like the Tom Hanks set floating around out there except it is centred around John Candy with Uncle Buck, The Great Outdoors and Going Berserk. The dvd arrived before it’s expected date which I liked and it works great
