Holy Grail lip balm
For years I’d worn long-last lipstick because I used to work 8-12 hour shifts, 5-6 days/week. My priority was rich, fully pigmented color that would last all day without reapplication and that would not smear or smudge. The only problem with long-last lipstick is that it’s very drying, so I’d sometimes have to deal with chapped lips.Now that I’m retired, my priority is moisture and comfort. No more need for the long-last lipstick. I’ve used Burt’s Bees Lip Shimmer. That’s a great product but, because my natural skin color is tan, I found the tint too light for me. It just didn’t show up on my lips.Enter Julep It’s Balm. I was surprised at how deep the color was–it looked like lipstick! But you can apply this without a mirror. I swipe my bottom lip, then the middle of my top lip, and press my lips together, and my lips are comfortably smooth. It’s Balm provides good moisture with a welcome, natural-looking pop of color on my lips. Yes, it comes off with eating and drinking, but it’s easy to reapply. It’s non-sticky. It’s scent- and flavor-free, which I love. I have one on my nighstand and one in my handbag. It fits easily into a pocket. I’ve never before seen a lip balm that provided definitive but natural-looking lip color. BTW, I ordered Cherry Wood Creme and Black Cherry. Cherry Wood Creme is a deep, subtle red. Black Cherry is a heavily pigmented blue-red that also stains your lips. When I want just moisture, not another application of color, I swipe my lips with the top of the balm–the vitamin E core. A little color goes a long way, so I can see where these lip balms would last a while.I think I’m rambling now, but I love this product. It’s a little pricey (yes, I’m a cheapskate), so I signed up for subscribe and save for these two colors. Great product. I can’t recommend highly enough.

Lovely Color And Texture! Purchased solely because of reviews!
I ordered Dusty Orchid Shimmer on a whim. I donât usually spend $14.95 on lip color at this point in my life(I used to buy top of the line make up from department stores). I have to say this is a nice product! Itâs worth the money because the color is great and flattering, itâs not sticky nor Does it disappear Immediately after you put it on. The color is buildable, but then it comes off more easily. Itâs moisturizing and the color lasts if you donât go crazy with it. There are several colors Iâd love to try. But I think Iâll try this one out for longer than a couple of days before I invest in more. But if you feel like treating yourself to a nice moisturizing lip color, I say go for it with this product! I do use a lip liner with it, as with other, sheer Or moisturizing lip products because Iâm 56 and my lip outline can use a little boost to keep it neat and keep the color in place. I used a neutral Sephora lip balm with it and it was fine. The color blended and didnât look weird. It looked natural but finished in attractive way! I donât like to include photos with my reviews, but if I was going to, this would be a product that I would take a selfie with (If I took selfies regularly and not just to make sure look OK and then delete the photo). I looked too much like my mom and my dad in selfies for my own comfort, even though Iâm MUCH thinner than either of them! Too thin to feel comfortable with random photos of myself. Blah, blah, blah!My point here is that itâs a great product so far and if you want a nice product without going overboard, I highly recommend this. Even without trying it on, and only a photo of the color and some reviews to go on I took a chance and it really was worth it! Normally, I buy Burtâs Bees colored lip balm, but this lip color lasts longer. It doesnât have the nice minty taste- In fact, it has no discernible taste at all, which I find unusual. No fragrance like Chanel products. No taste like Burtâs Bees etc. Just moisturizing color that stays in place, especially if you use Lip liner because youâre getting a little bit older or you just appreciate a very neat lip outline! ðThanks for taking the time to read this review and I hope it helps! Its a pass for me.
I bought canyon rose. Ugh…clearly I am old and wrinkled. I am looking for a lipstick that adds a little moisture to my lips without bleeding in all the “Slezak” crevices (ha ha 70s reference). This does a nice job of being moisturizing and going on very smoothly. I like the color. It does feel kind of STICKY and it migrates which I don’t love. I find I prefer tinted Burts Bees and will likely continue with that. However, this does get 4/5 stars because the color is nice and it is moisturizing. Think would do well on younger (or less wrinkled) lips.

Balm disappeared soon after application.
I initially gave this lip balm a 5 star as it was very moisturizing and felt good on my lips. However after several hours that wonderful moisturizing disappeared . It did stay as a stain but the balm was gone. I have fair skin and the Canyon Rose is very dark.. I donât like the color and feel it wasnât represented well in the photo. It looks very matronly on. I do like the Vintage Mauve color but I will have to add a moisturizer to work with it. I will not be purchasing again.

New FAV product
This is the best lip balm I have ever used. Moisturizing, does not give me a white line, very pigmented, lasts long, somewhat stains lips for good color, and extremely comfortable. I want every color. I am ordering some for my purse now too. I don’t know how or why anyone would rate this lower than 5 stars. PLEASE do not ever discontinue.

My favourite lipstick/balm. Great neutral shade on the pink rather than orange scale which suits me better. I donât even need a mirror to apply it & it moisturises as well as a plain balm.

The title says it all really. I love the product itself. It behaves more like a lip stain once dry but doesn’t dry my lips at all. The 90s neutral is just that, except back then it would’ve been matte. This is a gloss so obviously it’s shiny, but not too shiny. It’s a really nice everyday product, fresh looking without seeming too “done.” The bad. I hate these new gloss pencils like children’s crayons. It’s really messy to apply and it’s not really a product you can use a brush on due to the core. Since it’s so pigmented I wouldn’t dare apply it without a mirror. Years ago the body shop had a similar product (it was really crap and dried one’s lips like the Sahara) but it was easier to apply since the start had been cut like a lip stick which seems to make all the difference. So to sum up, yes, it’s nice but please make it easier to apply neatly.
