Get these if installing drawers
If your replacing drawer slides or even building them new, this jig will make a much simpler – and faster process. Odds are if ou. Planning n doing this you have some sort of clamp. If you donât own two, borrow or buy them. Using these eliminates measuring and trying to hold them in place. The small grey tabs give app. 1/4â spacing and will keep them square to the cabinet face. The last picture I took shows it out of square as I did not ave the clamp tight. Great jigs.

Nice helper and not too expensive
Considering the price of alot of Kregs stuff, the drawer slide jigs are a nice helping hand for the money. They worked well for me, but be aware there are some draw backs. One is that if your installing slides in existing cabinets, there might be spots where you can’t use them. My cabinet boxes are custom hand built in place plywood from the 60’s. Therefore I ran into spots where there was additional structure that was “in the way” of using the jigs. I either couldn’t use them there, or in a couple of spots, I cut away the additional structure to make room for the jigs. When the jigs can be used, they worked great, both installing the cabinet portion of the slides, and also installing the drawers onto the slides. I am very happy with them, good value for this reasonable price.

Good concept, results not so good.
I made this closet organizer for my granddaughter, my first experience with FYI drawers. Because she wanted drawers where you reach in to open, it had no cross members so the guide has to be clamped to the side of the cabinet. Using the jig to mount the cabinet slide seemed to be OK, however, because I could only place a clamp on one spot it was easy for the jig to move if youâre not careful and thus not level. Placing the drawer (using partical board so they were heavy) on the jig is a great concept but later it discovered the slides were not consistently square or spaced from the bottom side lip of the drawer. I decided to build some wood spacers and repositioned all the cabinet slide parts so they would all be level/square and equal distance to each other. Further inspection of the drawer side slides showed they were either square and equal distanced from the bottom ledge of the drawer side. I made a simple wood gauge to locate the slide exactly 1/2 inch from the bottom. Considering all the issues I had, I believe the ultimate issue is not being able to secure the Kreg jig securely enough to prevent shifting. (Not sure how that can be resolved. Perhaps I was careless, but building my own guides was pretty fool proof.
