Excellent vehicle tracking capability.
We recently purchased the LandAirSea real time SYNC GPS tracking device via Amazon. The device easily plugs into the OBDII port on our vehicle, and therefore does not need batteries. The GPS is small, it’s inside location is out of the way and not noticeable. We have only had it a short time but our experience is completely positive. The product works as advertised and we can monitor our vehicle travel both online over the internet and with the mobile smart phone app. We were able to install and configure the GPS device and begin using it as soon as it arrived. No tools are needed to install, just snap it into place in the OBDII port under the steering wheel. Please note the tracker needs to be activated for a fee (after purchase), this is a credit card transaction done online and only takes a couple minutes. Without activation the product cannot be used. The Serial Number on the back of the tracker is needed for activation. Several activation plans are available, we started with the base plan but may upgrade to a plan with a higher refresh rate later. We felt the device and activation cost was very reasonable for the vehicle tracking information it provides us. One, especially helpful aspect of the SYNC product is the ability to fence locations and notify us, 24/7, with text and emails (with date/time stamps) when our vehicle enters or departs the fenced areas. Tracking is performed in what looks like Google Maps, which is an awesome visual for following our vehicle. For our purpose, we defined two fences, with different names, around each location; one to track arrivals and one for departures. NOTE to LAS – a possible software upgrade could be a single fence with multiple tracking/notification definitions. However, there are other tracking and notification capabilities or methods in the interface with which I’m not familiar. Configuration is primarily performed online in your web browser (same for activation), then available to others who may perform monitoring. We will explore additional tracking configurations as we become more familiar with the tracker interface. Thank you LandAirSea, …great product.

Does the job and more!
I purchased this product to keep track of drivers in the family, but I quickly found out it does more than just GPS tracking. Activation was quick and easy. Just create and account enter the serial number of the device and choose a tracking package. There were two plans available. One that refreshes the location every 10 seconds and on that refreshes every 60 seconds. The price for the 10 second plan is a little higher than the 60 second one. They do offer discount if you pay for months in advance. I’d like to see more plans to choose from in future updates. I chose the 60 second plan but i may change to the 10 second plan as a minute seems to be a little too long for me.Installation couldn’t be any easier. you just locate the OBD2 port on the vehicle and check that you have the device lined up correctly (you can’t really mess this up as the device can only go one way). Then turn the ignition switch. You don’t even have to turn the vehicle all the way on, just enough to get the dash lights to come on and you are good. The GSP app and website will pick it up instantly. I do have a concern about removing the device, as it seemed to be a tight fit when I tried to remove it, I was checking mostly to see if it was likely to fall out of the slot while going down the road. I haven’t looked on the website yet but there may be a tutorial for it.The web interface for the device is great! There are a lot of options available on the web interface that I don’t see on the Mobile app, but they may be available in future updates. The web interface allows you to setup OBD alerts for various conditions that may be detected by the vehicle, these features may not work if your vehicle doesn’t support them. You can set up alerts for moderate, excessive, and severe speeding, braking, turning, impact detection, fuel levels, device unplug, and power on and battery power level. You can have these alerts set to be emailed to you or sent to your mobile via text or using the mobile app. There are several other features like travel playback, and reports that can be exported in several different document formats. I wasn’t able to get the alerts to work, but I’m not sure if I totally understand their purpose and process. Still I like that these options are available because it will provide more info than just tracking, You can quickly find out if the vehicle may have been in a accident (Impact detection), or getting low on fuel.I am pleased with this product. It offers a lot of options and seems to be a very well made product. So easy to setup and use anyone can do it. I do hope the company offers more plan options in the future.

I purchased this device for the purpose of location tracking in the event of a theft. After playing around with it for a few days I am very satisfied with how accurate it is and how flawlessly it updates on the devices/vehicles location. I haven’t had a single issue with it yet! Also, dealing with their customer support line was a breeze when I had an issue setting it up. Would definitely recommend and purchase again!
