Great for Flat Vents, Skip It If Your Car Has Circles
I gave this little ventâclip mount a shakeâdown on a weekend road trip, and the first thing that impressed me was the magnet: it snaps an iPhone 16 into place with a satisfying thunk and never let go, even over potholeâpocked backroads. The steel hook clamp feels more secure than the usual springâloaded claws Iâve tried, and installation took less than a minuteâloosen the knob, slide the hook behind the vent blade, tighten until snug. Because the arm pushes the phone a few inches away from the louvers, I can still nudge plenty of air around the cabin and easily swivel the screen toward the driverâs seat without blocking the whole vent face.Living with it dayâtoâday, a few quirks surfaced. On rough pavement the phone bounces slightly more than mounts that park it flat against the vent, a tradeâoff for that handy extension arm. And while the hook system is rockâsolid on horizontal or vertical slats, itâs a nonâstarter for circular vents and anything thicker than about an eighth of an inchâworth doubleâchecking before you click âBuy Now.â I also discovered that pulling the phone straight off the magnet can yank the vent fin if youâre not gentle; sliding it sideways works much better and spares the plastic blades.Overall, though, this is the first MagSafe holder Iâve kept in place longer than a week. It frees up my cup holder, angles easily for navigation, and looks clean and lowâprofile on the dash. At roughly thirteen bucks on sale, it punches well above its price classâjust remember to pair it with a MagSafe case (or the included metal ring) if youâre rocking an older or nonâApple device. Minor jiggle aside, itâs become one of those small car upgrades that I miss the second I drive without it.

Did not fit my car Toyota GT86 –update–
Update: I tried installing it upside down. The shape of the vents in this car makes it so the base of this mount was hitting the bottom edge of the vent area and would not allow it to be tightened. But I flipped it over so I hooked the vent from underneath. There is more space above the blade of the vent, so I was able to tighten it and it held my phone perfectly fine during a test drive.*update 2*July 2025. The mount has been working great in my car. Has never fallen off.This item is well made and the magnets on it are very strong. It just does not fit my car. And to be helpful, unlike every review here, I will tell you the make and model of car so youâll know it wonât work if you have the same. Scion FRS/ Toyota GT86/ Subaru BRZ. The product clips onto the vent ok but it canât be tightened because the base of the product is too big for the vents in these cars which are small. So it was basically loose and falls right off.Sure would be nice if all the reviewers stating that it works great would say what kind of car they have. Seems like common sense.

The magnetic vent cell phone holder has helped me to keep from texting and scrolling so much while driving. It is very sturdy. My phone never moves or falls off. It was a little too short to fit on my main vent but it was easy to apply to my driver’s side vent, which is actually better since it is on the left side my non-dominant hand. I can clearly see the phone when needed without moving it.!

Good product
This mount is great, especially for the standard size phone. It holds the phone securely. The plus size phone isnât quite as strong of a hold, but still good. The only down side is the vent is held in one position with the placement and cannot be adjusted (with horizontal slots, the weight pulls the vent down). I chose a vent where this wouldnât bother me, but the first placement I tried it did. Overall, I think this is a great option and the price is good.

Love this! Itâs elevated and higher up so doesnât block air flow in the car vents. Very strong magnet. For me though I still need the magnet built in phone case. Using just the magnet provided in the box doesnât hold up. On speed bumps and what not the phone will fall off if not using the MagSafe phone case.
