Really strong magnets!
Super strong magnet! We have Android phones so no Mag Safe ring built in so I bought us some OhSnap holders to replace the PopSockets. They are perfect for this holder. It was a little tricky finding a spot on my 2019 Highlander’s dash, it’s more curved than I thought it was so it won’t suction to the dashboard on its own. The vinyl circle that comes with solved that issue. Found a spot near enough to driver’s side that doesn’t block a vent or dashboard display.The magnet is so strong that we’ve found the best way to remove them from the mount is to slide them off rather than pull them off. I’m afraid we’ll pull off the OhSnap rings otherwise.Removing the phone does dislodge the suction a little so it activates the motor to restick at that point. It’s been in place for a couple of weeks and I haven’t had to recharge it yet.So far it’s a great car mount.

Automatic and safe
I think it’s good. The best part is that if it’s about to fall, it snaps into place. But the battery doesn’t last long.

I’ll buy a couple more for gifts.
I couldn’t be happier. Not only does it work great, it looks very high-tech/high-end in my Caddy.

It’s pricey and works on windows but not everywhere it should
I have a like/dislike relationship with this product and I’d like to share my reasoning.For starters, I don’t have an iPhone – I’m a Galaxy S22 Ultra guy but I have a mag case on my phone which makes it compatible with the phone holder.You need to charge it so it can provide the right amount of suction to the surface you’re using it on. I decided to place it on my dashboard so it’s positioned perfectly for me. Once I pushed it on and the motor ran, I popped my phone on and tried to pull it off…it held! Happy with this, I started driving. About five minutes in I heard the motor on the device start so it could increase the suction. Not too big of a deal. Maybe three minutes later, the same thing. 4-5 seconds of suction followed by a brief pause and then…again. And again. Then my phone fell off my dash in a turn and all went bad from there. I quickly lost faith in this things ability to keep my phone safe and do its job.The issue here was with this devices ability to create a strong seal on my dash. By checking the products manual and website it’s clear that it’s supposed to be able to hold on to a dashboard, but it wasn’t. I became discouraged and took it down. The process is easy by pushing the release button and pulling it off. Discouraged but not done, I decided to move it to my windshield days later. It would obstruct too much of my view if I put it right above my radio on the glass so it went to the left of my steering wheel. I placed it on the glass and heard the unmistakable sound of the motor running to get a solid grip. I tugged on it and it was STUCK! I placed my phone in, the strong magnet held on and my phone stayed put. I waited 5 minutes for the motor and got nothing. Finally, this thing held on to my glass and stopped running. I pulled and adjusted my phone, twisting the adjustable arm, rotating it around, trying to cause a failure and still nothing. My faith a bit restored, I gave it another shot.I’ve had it up there for a week now and the motor will only run once in a while, but for 4-5 seconds tops. Clearly it has/had trouble sealing on my dash but loves the windshield.Outside of the issues mentioned above I’m not sure how often it needs to charge. If there’s a light to alert me the battery is low it’s not in view. I just hope I don’t learn it’s in need by seeing my phone fling off the window while driving! Again.Also, it would be GREAT if this would actually charge your phone. 40 bucks for a magnet suction cup that only holds your phone is pretty steep, especially when there are others available for a lot cheaper! I can’t really tell you that this is worth the extra cash. It works (mostly) and holds your phone securely, but why is it so expensive? It feels like a strong, solid and durable device, but so do the cheapest versions. It’s just as adjustable too. I’m not sure why I’d pay that much for this thing.I’m going with 4 stars because it’s a well made product that will work, but doesn’t charge your phone, didn’t work on my dash, doesn’t easily/clearly display charging status and costs a lot more than competing brands. I think it’s actually a 3 1/2 star holder but that’s not a choice and I feel generous. Good luck…spend away if you have the extra cash!
