Great Product and Easy to Install with Excellent Customer Support
Why did you pick this product vs others?:I bought this lock because it was already installed in a condo I purchased and liked the functionality. I decided to replace a traditional lock in another of our residences where we have a lot of visiting family and didn’t want to proliferate hard keys.Ease of installation:I did not need to modify the door from the existing installation except for an optional 1/2 inch hole to secure the lock to an old steel door. I didn’t have a drill that would take a 1/2 inch bit but found a 3/8 inch hole was adequate. Everything went together easily, but I found that the system was delivered with a defective latch mechanism that would not fully engage the strike plate and would stick in the open position. I was able to e-mail customer support and got a response from “Emma M” within 24 hours. I sent them a few pictures and described the problem. They agreed it was a defective part and mailed a new one. The problem was solved with the new mechanism. Very strong recommendation for the installation instructions (video and printed material), but even stronger for the customer support. It was easy to connect the lock to our wifi and connect the lock to their i-phone application. Make sure to keep the car that comes with the system that has the product code. When I bought the condo I had to reconfigure the lock and found the previous owner had fortunately saved all the installation material in a folder.Lock functionality:The lock works as advertised. I’ve not yet had time to exercise the full functionality. We’re going to do a remodel and will provide contractor specific entry codes with limited access times during the renovation.Build quality:Excellent quality. We are on the ocean and almost anything metal tends to corrode over time from the salt air. How well it stands up to that environment TBD.  Fingerprint recognition:I haven’t set that feature up yet.

Good hardware, good software (if not using Matter), but not for interior use.
Lockly lock has very good hardware, it is very well built, very convenient to use, and very easy to install, and it recognized my fingers immediately. However, I don’t think this is good to use for interior door:1. Fingerprint ready position: if your door opens into the room and swing to the left, the fingerprint reader will be right next to the latch jamb, making it very awkward to access.2. Turning the inside handle does not unlock the door: even when you turn Auto-Lock off, if the door is locked and you turn the inside handle, it will not unlock the door, leaving it quite awkward for guests.3. While the SecureLink is fast and responsive, the Matter bridge just suck: if you have a mesh wifi, just expect to power-cycle the bridge every 2-3 days; plus the Matter integration is questionable at best, it takes 4-5 seconds for the lock to respond to Home Assistant lock/unlock, and if you issued multiple commands because you didn’t think it received it, the lock/bridge will literally become unresponsive in Home Assistant until you power-cycle it.

I’ve had some issues… mostly connection via WiFi/Bluetooth. their secure hub needs to be within 3 feet of the lock which in my case wasn’t a cut and dried affair. Their support via email was very good and prompt. . this i still think this idea of a “signal booster” -which turned out to be a small 3 inch bendable USB A cable is well…. not s booster at all. so I think they need to work on their secure hub and give it range. the actual lock itself is very well made and solid and so far it’s worked very well providing great ease of access and with the door sensor it provides security in notifications if door open/closed etc

Awesome but not flawless
I have been a Schlage Wifi lock guy, but have replaced all my doors with this lock. The biometric option is great!!! I personally suggest programming multiple finger positions per person. I have three programs for each person in many different positions. If you do not, some times it may take some time to unlock.I also have a Viewgaurd security door, you will have to drill one hole to get the face plate to stay still. If you do not it will rotate off axis a bit towards the side you open the handle towards.

I love this lock but am replacing one that I purchased 2 years ago after it simply quit working. When configuring the new lock I did not pay attention sufficiently to what “property” and what “room” I selected for viewing the lock. This resulted in not being able to find the lock on the phone app after I had installed it. Customer support was very helpful. Their AI bot replying to emails asking for help is very speedy and helpful. After we had not solved my problem in 3 emails, the bot got a person involved who phoned me to resolve my problem.

Unboxing & Initial Thoughts â Lockly with Handle!
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Just got the Lockly Secure Pro Latch Edition, and I already love one thing: it comes with a built-in handle! That alone saved me the trouble of figuring out separate handle/lock combos. The setup was smooth, packaging felt premium, and it looks super sleek once installed. Iâm using this video as my first impression, and Iâll update once Iâve lived with it a bit â but so far, really impressed with how polished and complete it feels right out of the box.

Rare product failure
Overall itâs an excellent lock mechanism product.I have purchased many, and all work superbly well, except for one that suddenly started shorting the batteries causing the four AA batteries to rapidly drain. Two sets of new batteries were tried, and the problem happened spontaneously; the lock was not damaged and did not get wet. So I have returned it.
