No issues
I know this camera gets a lot of mixed reviews, but after dealing with a Ring camera linked through HomeBridge to my HomeKit setup, this camera is a revelation. I refused to use a battery-powered unit, but most are dual-power, so they are giant ugly things in case you use the batteries – I love that this one is wired-only so itâs nice and small and attractive.Notifications are fast and dynamic and it uses HomeKit Secure Video which is a massive deal. Summer hasnât hit yet, but it never gets direct sunlight, so Iâm probably good there. Video quality is great, I love the portrait orientation and the built-in light. HomeKit setup was easy and I like all of the options and automations available in the Home app, as well as direct integration with my Apple TV and HomePods. The only pain was installing the chime kit. It is actually dead simple, which was revealed to me by a YouTube video, the included instructions vastly overcomplicate it and I was livid when I thought chime functionality would require running new doorbell wires. Again, once I watched a YouTube video, it took 2mins and were in business.

Scam. Defective units and not renewed/refurbished
Do not buy. Purchased two units from two different sellers. The first one arrived broken in a boot loop. I returned it but am still waiting for a refund. Both sellers use USPS for shipping, so it takes a while. The second unit boots up correctly but doesnât let me add it to HomeKit. I get âDoorbell already added to home”. I contacted Logitech support directly, and they confirmed that these are behaviors of defective units and there is nothing I can do. I also purchased multiple chargers, cables, and transformers because I thought it was an issue on my end. What a waste of money and time. These aren’t refurbished, renewed, etc. doorbells. These are defective units that have gotten returned and are now being resold. Itâs a scam. Do not buy from third-party sellers. Maybe better luck with brand new and directly from Amazon, but then again, these doorbells seem to have a very, very high failure rate.

Itâs not perfect, but overall good purchase.
Iâve been using an Arlo doorbell camera for years but was over the monthly fee. I wanted a doorbell camera that worked within the Apple ecosystem. There arenât a ton of options and most of the reviews on those options are less than stellar. I decided to try this one. Overall Iâm glad I did. The setup was straightforward. Everything happens in the Apple home app. Regarding the camera itself, if Iâm honest, the Arlo camera overall is a better camera: better picture quality and viewing angle. However, I really appreciate the Apple HomeKit integration on this camera and NO monthly subscription fee. This cameraâs response time is pretty good. I get a notification on my phone, Apple TV and HomePods immediately. My iPhone and Apple TV immediately provide an image from the camera and option to switch to live footage. Also, I donât get false alerts. It does not provide 24/7 recording (bummer) but the camera does a great job detecting motion. It also has the ability to recognize faces and will tell you whoâs at the door once youâve identified the person. This isnât always accurate but pretty good. I havenât had any issues with wifi reception or the camera over heating. My only issue with this camera is the random going offline. It happens about once or twice a month for a couple minutes. It reconnects on its own. I cannot figure out why this happens. If this happened more often Iâd have to replace it but right now itâs annoying but generally does not effect its daily use. Overall Iâm pleased with the camera.

Smooth Installation, Clear Image, and HomeKit Integration That Just Works
Installation was straightforward and trouble-free. The image quality is sharp and clear, and the device integrated seamlessly with Apple HomeKitâwhich was the main reason I chose this model.Since installation, I havenât experienced any connectivity issues at all. Everything has been stable and responsive.Overall, it’s a solid smart doorbell that delivers what it promises. Definitely worth the money.

OK value, requires install considerations
Got two of them. Apparently they do not handle direct sunlight very well. The working one is buggy, as the red light is always on even if it’s not recording and nobody is viewing the camera. Frequently loses connection to wifi despite having enterprise grade, interference free Ubiquiti WiFi system. These are the only devices with wifi issues. Would not recommend unless you absolutely need one now and can’t afford a better camera. Also don’t let sunlight touch it!

Does not work well.
Does not work well. Rarely sends notices that someone is at the door. Doorbell does not ring when button is pushed. Often get notices that it is not connected to the hub. Do not recommend.

Only Worth It If HomeKit Is a MustâInstallation Is a Headache
This works only if HomeKit compatibility is essential. But setup is a nightmare: no printed manual or PDFâjust a clunky website tutorial thatâs hard to follow. Poor install experienceânot recommended unless you’re committed to HomeKit.

Works great but be caution about having it exposed to direct sun and it goes off line when it overheats

Iâve now ordered a total of three of these doorbell cams from this seller. All three have showed up in previously opened and damaged boxes and the product has been non-functional. After two returns and reorders, Iâm done. Three strikes and this seller is out. I would avoid at all costs.
