A hilarious new Isekai LitRPG adventure perfect for fans of Dungeon Crawler Carl and Full Murderhobo.
Conquer ancient dungeons. Get rewarded. Grow stronger.
After being killed by a high-velocity tree-hug, Arlo is transported to a new world where those brave and talented enough to conquer ancient Delves are rewarded with incredible power and abilities.
Unfortunately for Arlo, there is no tutorial. He is immediately forced to tackle a Delve set to the highest difficulty with a party of adventurers who are not only strangers to him, but strangers to each other as well.
Arlo has no armor, no weapons, no knowledge of the world at large, and his party is growing increasingly suspicious of his lack of preparation and paper-thin excuses for how he got there.
There’s also the fact that the System in charge seems to be treating Arlo’s situation like a big, cosmic joke.
Determined not to die again, Arlo forgoes putting any points into his highest stat, Intelligence, and instead dumps everything he’s got into Fortitude. After all, who needs equipment or fighting skills when you can eat fireballs for breakfast and still ask for more hot sauce?
Mage Tank begins a new Isekai LitRPG adventure that features steady progression, intelligent characters who spend time making intentional build choices, and tons of laughs. It’s not action all-the-time, but Arlo’s life is replete with danger and, more importantly, consequences.

Great magical power is not a reason to not be fashion forward!
System Isekai adventure (a person from our reality finds themselves reborn/transported to another world/reality/time (isekai) governed by a RPG-like magical “system” that quantifies this reality, sometimes a natural phenomenon, sometimes something imposed by controlling intelligences.) about a guy who smacks into a tree at high speed and wakes up in a room with a group of random people about to run through a dungeon (the D&D/video game definition, a maze filled with monsters and valuables.).I enjoyed this book. Arlo is smart and covers a host of insecurities and uncertainties with sarcasm and humor. I’ve read a lot of system isekai, but this System and world are entertainingly unique and interesting. The fashion is forward. The different qualities of leveling up is a little hard to grasp and I feel like the inevitable power creep of the main character makes this nuance a little redundant, but perhaps it will pay off in future books. If you like fantasy and/or RPGs, I think you will like this book. (There may or may not be several Chthonic entities wandering around, if tentacles are your thing…)

fun quirky and lots of action.
Well written, good pacing, and great character development, especially the MC. The world building was well done, not too detailed but enough to keep the story flowing at the right pace and visualization. I loved the humor, sometimes subtle and sometimes not. The end is slightly abrupt, but there is a definite conclusion to the book. Will look forward to the next one.

Surprisingly deep
So, you look at this book’s cover, and you think, “WTF?”, right? But you’re an adventurous reader, so you crack it open. What you find is a surprisingly well crafted opening that leads into a surprisingly gritty (but not darkly so), fun, nicely paced, tongue in cheek dungeon delve Isekai tale of a flawed character. Then the dungeon ends and the world building gets surprisingly deep. The book isn’t perfect. I’d say it should have been split into two books (it’s kinda long) and had the back half polished up as a stand alone second novel. But…it’s still quite fun, and well some. Would recommend.

5 I Wouldnât Put Too Much Faith In The Words Of A Malevolent Mind-Controlling Murder-Sphere Stars
Mage Tank is the first book in the LitRPG Adventure series by Cornman. This was a pretty great book. I finish this book with questions remaining unanswered, yet there are many revealed within these pages. Arlo’s beginning in the Creation Delve was the perfect origination for this story. Anywhere else in this world, he would have only gained power by joining the wrong side or suffered as a peasant.Meeting Xim and finding a new family, a place of belonging after losing the roots of his past life was a happy happenstance. Varrin is a character that’s easy to dislike, in the beginning. He grows as the story progresses, and shifts into an enjoyable friend. Grotto is the secondary comedy act, his ridiculous speeches throughout of his vast power, and evil plans to take over the world are almost adorable. Nuralie is a surprise but manages to fit in and stand out among this group. She is perhaps the most fascinating to me because she is still shrouded in mystery even now. Etja will interesting to observe as she becomes a fully realized person. I truly hope there is more discovery in her future. There are a lot of really messed up people in this world, that they’ve faced so far. Which plays muck with my understanding of the system. There is divinity, barely explained, and sort of confusing given the vessels in The Cage. The system is primarily magic-based but is entirely ruled by the Delves; who can acquire stats and abilities. Which is then limited and controlled by the ruling class. And yet the epilog has so clearly defined another entirely different species and belief system, than previously supplied, is also at work and a threat… I’m intrigued by the possibilities and that which is yet to come.Fortune running off with Reveal is another problem entirely. Which hopefully won’t entirely ruin whatever plans our cast comes up with to face their future battles. I imagine more gods will show themselves in the coming books just to weave an even messier web of mystery and entertainment.

Wonderful New Series
I love LitRPG/GameList. This is my first experience with this author, and I must say. I am very impressed with the well-thought out world-building, the unique characters, and the clear yet interweaving plot lines. Itâs a fine story with wonderful detail and some nice humor sprinkled in. I will definitely read more in the series.

Great worldbuilding.
I was looking for something new with a sense of humor. This fit perfectly. Entertaining, irreverent, and long enough to listen to on audible for two weeks worth of commuting to work.

Interesting
Well this started off well and picked up speed. Really interesting view on tanks and it was nice not to have the Noble vs peasant argument. Epilogue needs work.
Eddie Rebel –
fantastic!
Great series start, main characterâs life perspective is awesome. You died âhuh whateverâ, youâre transported to another realm ânice viewâ, your life is going to be painfilled âso itâs Tuesdayâ. Keeps an optimistic view while being pessimistic about the circumstances, difficult for me to describe as the reactions differ from the norm. Always quick with a quip and good group of delvers that will help this mage tank keep us entertained for many books to come

I loved the idea of this Mage Tank character and really enjoyed the wit anf humour of the book.Well created characters and story with an enjoyable main character.

This is the most amusing and entertaining litRPG book I have read in some time! Grinding? Naah, too easy! Letâs jump in a battle between gods! This book transcends âtraditionalâ litRPG, almost satirizing and mocking it while actually making a great job of it. A must read. Unless you dislike shirtless heroesâ¦

Starts out like a riff on the style of dungeon crawler Carl, but soon settles into its own thing. The story is irreverent but meaningful, the setting is broad but not weighty. It introduces imaginative novelty while avoiding tropes, or at least mentioning them with a wink and a nudge. It’s not really an epic inspiring kind of thing, but it was fun, creative and never boring… and I’m looking forward to more.
Avid reader –
Just the right amount of snark, a dash of blood and guts, and just a hint of world building, makes for a good story. Wrapping is all up together in a well-paced, descriptive blanket of one of the most enjoyable reads Iâve had in a long time. The American creative misuse of grammar, the occasional orotund [to steal a word from the author] word choice, and the odd typo do not distract. If you think Dungeon diving Carl got mucky, this MC takes it further!

My favorite characters in this book: Grotto and Cage. They are just awesome. Good relationships between characters. Enjoyed it.Looking forward to more from the series.
