Making your power drill a powerful metal-cutting shear is now a more attractive idea than ever before! This well tailored attachment quickly inserts into the chuck of a corded or cordless drill to make fast straight, curved or square cuts in most common sheet metals. A sleek, lightweight aluminum cast shear head and molded drill clamp allow maximum portability and ease to go wherever the work is. The compact telescoping drill clamp adjusts to fit both length and width of popular drill sizes including smaller bodied impact drivers. Optional spacers are stored on clamp for large motor housings. The clamp collar allows the shear head to be rotated 360° and set in any position for optimum tool clearance when navigating profiles or to facilitate easy material flow. The shear’s wide-opening jaws can operate at high or low speeds for the control you need to follow a precise trim line, navigate crosscuts through profiles of metal building and roofing panels or cut through layered metal and seams, even the ribs of spiral duct. Heavy-duty gearing and beefy, hardened carbon steel blades combine to offer up to 18-guage (1.22 mm) cutting capacity in mild steel. Hey, work is work….but this tool puts a smile on faces around here.After 30+ years of building metal buildings, and roofing with metal around the farm and shop, we finally had a project that was huge…..and knuckles that were more arthritic than when I started. So, it was time to get a power tool to cut the metal.We were lucky, and the metal we purchased (used, but nearly new) was 26 gauge R-Lock galvanized. It was MUCH heavier….25% thicker…. than the 29 gauge galvalume farm panels we had used previously. We had 9000 sq ft of it to apply….lots of doors and window holes. WOW…..I mean REALLY……WOW….this little bear chewed through it like butter. There is a learning curve. The blades have to be tilted just so to effect a smooth cut. INCREDIBLE, this can turn a corner and leave a radius corner no bigger than a soda straw diameter !!! The ridges and valleys on R-Lock panels are deep. It just takes a bit of experimentation to find the right angle up and over and down. The nemesis of sheet metal/roofing work is lengthwise cuts. This little tool breezes up long cuts….and it doesn’t matter if they are on the flat, or the top or side of a ridge. For the first time in 30 years, it looked like contractors, and not farmers, had done the work.BUY YELLOW….KEVLAR….DOT GLOVES….DO NOT USE COTTON DOT GLOVES. LEATHER IS FINE, BUT THE KEVLAR DOTTED GLOVES ARE THE PRO CHOICE. REMEMBER THAT YOU ARE WORKING WITH SOMETHING THAT CAN CUT YOU LIKE A STRAIGHT RAZOR. ANY SHEARS OR NIBBLERS WILL DROP AND LEAVE SMALL BITS AND PIECES OF METAL….RUBBER SOLES WILL PICK THEM UP….AND THEY WILL PLAY HAVOC WITH LINOLEUM OR WOOD FLOORS IN THE HOUSE !!!!!We mounted ours on a corded, quality drill. I have not used it on a cordless drill yet. Some care is needed in the mounting, and the harness is somewhat cumbersome …….BUT….there is no drawback that can cause less than a 5 star rating. This tool does all, and more, than advertised. I bought a set of replacement jaws with it, thinking that they would be needed halfway through the job. I don’t think that they will be needed after another building this size.Perfect tool for a sheet metal project. Be careful, stay safe, and good luck.

Buy this tool, you will not regret it
I bought this product because I was needing to cut pro panel and I saw a design of a tool that was about $450 and I couldnât bring myself to pay that much so I bought this tool hoping that it could cut the roofing material. And boy did it, this thing right out of the box cut the pro panel roofing like nothing. I assume it cut the roofing in about 30 seconds the hardest part and cutting the roofing was actually measuring how much and where I needed to cut but this type of tool works amazing if you get it, youâll love it Today. I cut everything I needed for my wood barn.

good tool with one difficulty
This tool lets you cut metal roofing (for example) using your own cordless drill… a big help on the roof. It is very fast on flat metal and this is the beginning of the one issue I have with this tool. I am installing “5v” roofing. the creases in the roof are like an inverted “v,” very sharp. This cutter will cut the flat but only with great, great, great, difficulty will it get over the “v”s. Usually this marks the heck out of the cutting area. I have reverted to using a sawsall or scroll saw on these “v”s. I know from the videos it will cut over rolling creases ok, but in the “v” situation no-go. Otherwise a great and useful tool. I mark a line with tape and cut that line, on the flat, like butter. I can use the drill as usual by simply uninstalling the cutter (about 1 minute).

I built a barn on my farm and decided to install my first metal roof. After one day of struggling with hand shears, I decided to search the internet for an easier, reasonably priced solution.I found the Turboshear here at Amazon and decided to buy one based on the reviews. What a great tool, I had no trouble getting it set up quickly and using it for several days until the roof was finished.I highly recommend this tool for cutting metal roofing or any other similar metal cutting. The tool is very well made and appears to be sturdy enough to offer years of service. When ordering I thought the price seemed a little high but after handling and using the tool, I believe it is a fair price. I used this tool with a 19 volt lithium Craftsmen cordless drill.

Are you KIDDING????? This thing RIPS!!!! I love tools and I love having tools to do the job right. I needed a thin metal shear for doing a metal roof on my house, but didn’t need to spend $$$$ for a professional power shear and have it sitting there with no love after the job was done. The Malco Turboshear HD attaches to your cordless drill to make it a versatile power shear. Turboshear HD came highly recommended by a few metal roof pros that have been helping me, so I jumped on it with no hesitation. With a recent purchase of a super nice 18v impact/hammer drill combo, I knew the Turboshear would fit nicely on my new cordless drill.You will always need some form of cutting device when installing metal roofing and this shear fills the bill nicely. Cutting across ribbed panels is just one of it’s best features. The Turboshear is easy to attach and operate on most any cordless drill. I haven’t tried attaching it to a corded drill yet. The cutting power is second to none. If you don’t need a professional high $$$$$ metal shear and need a power shear occasionally, this is for you.

Works really well. I have now used it for three metal roofs and a 40â x 16â building with metal siding. It has made cutting metal roof and siding materials much easier and I really donât have any complaints about it. You do have to angle the cutters with the corrugations as you move along the cut line otherwise it will just sit there and not continue to cut. The quality is top notch and I have no concerns about it breaking etc.
