So easy
We got this to fry whole chickens and then used it to make our 12 lb thanksgiving turkey. It is so easy to clean, the element comes right out so there’s no cords or anything to clean around. (my favorite thing about it)It gets to the right temperature and holds it consistently. This is what DH loves most about the fryer – he does all the frying. We used to use a more rustic setup with a propane burner but it is just too dangerous with kids and pets around. This is much better, fully contained, we just set it on a sturdy table outside and plug it in about 40 minutes before we want to cook so that we know the oil is ready. We use a buttermilk + salt soak for 48 hours, then we rinse that off, pat the bird dry, and if we have time we put it in our convection oven at the lowest temp (100 degrees F) for an hour or two to make sure it is totally dry. This isn’t necessary but it prevents any spattering when lowering the bird into the oil. Then we fry at 350 for 4-5 minutes per pound. We use a thermometer to check the thigh meat and if its good we pull the bird and rest for 15-30 minutes depending on the size before carving. This is the most simple most reliably delicious poultry we’ve ever had. It helps that we use peanut oil but you can fry with other oils too.We have also fried frozen appetizers like lumpia, egg rolls, tempura shrimp, etc but mostly we use this for whole birds.HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDI really recommend this and hope this has helped you to make a buying decision. If it has: please consider tapping the helpful button. Thanks!

A Reliable and Versatile Deep Fryer – Perfect for Turkey and More!
After reading various reviews about this deep fryer, I was initially hesitant about making a purchase. However, I decided to give it a try, and I’m glad I did! I’ve used it twice now to fry turkeys, and both times, the results were absolutely perfect. Some reviewers mentioned that the skin on the turkey wasn’t crispy, but I found that following the instructions carefully led to excellent results every time. The deep fryer is easy to use and heats up quickly, allowing for efficient cooking. One of the standout features of this deep fryer is its versatility. Not only can it be used for deep frying, but it also doubles as a boiler and steamer. This makes it an excellent investment for those who enjoy cooking a variety of dishes.Additionally, the drain valve makes it incredibly easy to drain the oil and clean the fryer after use. This is a huge plus, as cleaning up after deep frying can often be a messy and time-consuming process.Overall, I highly recommend this deep fryer to anyone looking for a reliable and versatile cooking appliance. The excellent results I achieved with my turkeys, combined with its ability to boil and steam, make it well worth the price. Don’t be put off by negative reviews that may not accurately reflect the product’s quality – follow the instructions, and you’ll be delighted with the results!

Great Find!
This is the absolute best turkey fryer that I’ve ever owned. We had a propane turkey fryer and I was really scared to use it and eventually gave it to Goodwill.Today, July 4th 2025, I fried ribs. The clean up was super easy and I love the awesome drain spout. Best Investment Ever.

Only heating to 275
I love this for simple things but items that need to higher temp it just isnât getting there. Getting an exchange to see if that helps. Other than that itâs a great product for people like myself that love fried turkey or chicken but live in an apartment.Got the replacement and still the same issue. I dropped the turkey close to room temp and still same outcome. The oil temp will not maintain the highest temp drops to 250-275. I want to return it but itâs great for smaller items and crab boils just not for what it was meant for. Having to cook for longer times dries the meat out or you have to finish in an oven

These are the best and safest fryers in my openion!
This is my second Masterbuilt 3-in1Electric Turkey Fryer. After at lease 5 years, give or take a year or so. When they first came out I purchased my first one which still works great today. This is my second one and I purchased it just to have as a spare or cook two turkeys of whatever I’m cooking at the same time. next year my plans are to do something different like fry a second turkey in or I may go out on a limb, for the first time I’ve tried, and do a low country boil in the second for the seafood lovers. If your thinking about and comparing them I would buy this make again hands down. When I was younger we always used the open flame propane pot cookers, and after this I can’t go back because “IMO” they are much safer! They take a little extra time heat up, espically when it’s cool outside, but once it’s ready you just slowy put the turkey in close the lid and set the timer for the weight and suggested cooking time and leave it alone until the cooking time has lapsed. I just can’t say enough how much I recommend the Masterbuilt 3-in1. “Please Note” I am not trying to speak badly of the open flame propane pot cookers because with proper use and extra caution they work great. Always make sure your turkeys are dry as possible inside & out regardless of whatever cooker you choose…Water/moister and hot cooking oil will flame up in a second, and the most common mistake many people make! Just pat the inside & outside down before preparing the seasons to rub it down with. I put mine in the refigerator in a pan on a cooking stand, or sometimes called a beer can cooking stand, overnight the night before cooking. “Just a suggestion that has worked great for me”.

It’s a great tool not only to fry but to boil vegetables for canning…beets, peaches and corn on the cob

It had a huge dent in the side of the fryer. The metal isn’t flimsy so I can’t bend it out.
