Worked perfectly for my long trip, had nothing to worry about
This worked great for my 1,640 mile round trip with speeds up to 85 mph. Rack was very sturdy and easy to install, light enough to lift to the roof of the car by yourself. The storage bag also worked great, drove through a rainstorm with no water intrusion. As extra caution though, I do double bag my luggags in garbage bags, just in case. Didn’t have any issue though. The straps seemed sturdy enough, I use some to strap to the provided roof rack and others all the way down to my car’s roof side rails. I also used one ratchet strap across the whole thing just in case. I chose this over expensive hard-shell cases because it is easier to store in my garage.The only thing that’s a pain is that you will see how filthy both the bags and rack get from bug guts after a long trip, which the bag takes a little extra work to clean since it has folds. But that’s expected and nothing you can do about it.

Sturdy, Well-Built, and Perfect for Long Trips
We recently used the MeeFar hitch mount cargo basket for an 8-hour road trip and were very pleased with its performance. Itâs exceptionally well-built and sturdy, which gave us peace of mind while carrying extra luggage on the back of our SUV.Assembly and installation were straightforward, though the basket is quite heavy. I managed to mount it by myself, but having an extra set of hands would have made aligning the hitch and pin easier. Once installed, it felt very secure.A key feature is the hitch stabilizer, which made a noticeable difference in reducing movement and maintaining balance during the drive. We also tested the folding function before disassembly â it worked smoothly, exactly as advertised.While the basket comes with two straps, I recommend using additional tie-downs or ratchet straps for extra security, especially on longer trips. I didnât fully trust the included straps to keep everything in place for the entire drive.Overall, the design, ease of use, and durability lived up to expectations. Weâre very happy with this purchase and look forward to using it on future vacations. Highly recommended!

Mostly solid build
Overall the rack itself is well built and seems sturdy. However the rubber gaskets that waterproof the screws are garbage. All but one of the gaskets disintegrated within 24 hours of initial assembly. I don’t want water getting inside so I had to take it apart and use a siliconized gasket sealer on all the assembly joints and screw holes. One of the attachment brackets was cut wrong and is missing half an inch on two edges and somehow shipped with product. The bag is good nice big zipper and velcro and straps to make everything secure. But it has a very powerful chemical odor right out of its bag. I’d worry that the smell would infuse into anything stored in so I had to open it up outside and let it sit there overnight to air it out and still use a cleaner on it.As these are mostly cosmetic and long term care issues I only removed 1 star

Well done, solid and very resistant to abuse. Weight is about 60 lbs. Easy to install, secure with the device to avoid sheaking. Easly fits boxes and heavy load. tight up secure. Easy to fold. Does cover the license plate, got a copy and framed. Also got the lights for stop and turn lights.

The unit went together fairly quickly. It’s sturdy and works great. the bag works well and is thick and built well. Not much noise from it either, none more than you would expect. Great price too

Great investment for Traveling
This setup worked perfectly on its initial voyage. Easy to install, easy to load, and very importantly easy to Zip. It kept my cargo clean and dry and was a breeze to break down and clean up after our trip. We had two families (6 people) with all our luggage and snow toys in the Tahoe. Without being able to fold down the third row I needed the roof space, the bag held a lot more than I thought it would and was easy to strap to the roof rack. Another good thing was that at freeway speeds their was barely any wind noise at all, we had the radio volume set very low and normal conversation inside the truck and never had any obnoxious rattling or whistling drowning us out. Only caution I would recommend is to remember itâs up there and your vehicle height has been increased and could cause damage in garageâs.

Worth Twice the Money!
Purchased the Meefar rooftop cargo cage and waterproof bag combo – nothing but raves from me! Yhe rack is solidly built, easily and securely attaches to roof rails.the orange/black carry bag almost seems to be over-built, with both a waterproof 3-side zipper AND a velcro over-flap. We drove through a 3-hour rainstorm and the contents were dry as toast. I would highly recommend this product as long as your vehicle has side-to-side roof rails. It wonât let you down!
