Great replacement for old roofing nails; stopped the leadks
These worked great. My garage at our cabin was leaking badly through roofing nails that must have been 50+ years old. Size #9 roofing screws did not hold in the old wood. These #12 “regrip” screws worked great. In a few instances the wood was too rotten and they would not hold, but very few. In these cases I was usually able to calk the hole and screw in a different location. I thought I was going to have a lot more problems than I did. One concern/issue I had is that at the panel overlaps the nails were at the base of the ridge, not the top. Often they were too close to the ridge for the washer to fit flat. So to use the existing holes, the washer on the screw had to bend some to make 100% contact. Not ideal, but seemed to wiork ok. We’ll see once the snow comes.

Love these screws! was a perfect color match and thicker, a bit longer, and the head is exactly the same! Bought a house with a 20 year old metal roof and some of the original screws were missing and others would no longer tighten up so I rescrewed the entire roof. I’m guessing this will double or triple the life of our roof!

I ordered these specifically for a re-fasten of my metal over plywood roof-over. The old fasteners (both thread and washer diameter) were smaller, and I wanted a good seal. Could hardly have been easier. I used a cordless impact, with finesse on the trigger. Out with the old, a quick once over with a stainless steel brush, then in with the new. I initially was concerned about the greater washer diameter digging into a ridge, previous installation was closer than I like, but the washers conformed beautifully, which made for a great seal. If doing a new roof, I would definitely pre-drill the sheets, but to me that’s a given anyway. Very glad I found these, and will be ordering more for the next project. Great quality and price.

Excellent Replacement for original #10 Roofing screws
Have a large (very) sheet metal roof on house & barn. A few of the original #10’s in forest green were coming loose – mostly at corners. These screws were a perfect replacement. The larger washer sealed the original holes nicely. I recommend using a drill-driver set on medium torque. You do not want to deform the washer with an impact driver. Just seat them until the washer seals and stop. Arrived quickly in a sealed bag. No issues and as always, get extra. If you are using these screws as the first screw, I would drill a pilot hole. The threads are not drill point type.
