Very good for $15
I used this to rip 2×10âs down to a standard width for a deck that had a beam underneath, and the height of the joists was important to me. My only complaint is that the red part of the guide bar is not quickly reversible, to allow it to be on either the left or right side of the saw. Also, the instructions lead you to configure it for the right side, which limits your rips to about 8 inches, and places your saw away from the rip. I took the screws out of the red part and reversed it, to allow the guide bar to be on the left side, which increases the rip width to about 13 inches, and places the saw over the top of the rip, which is more stable for trimming 2×10âs. The pictures show my guide bar on the left.

Does not work for smaller circles.
This does NOT work as described for cutting 6â to 8â circles. It causes the jigsaw blade to bend in as it goes resulting in the radius becoming smaller as you go with the blade ultimately bending or breaking, which is dangerous in itself. I tried 4 cuts, making many adjustments as I went to try to get it to work. Seems it would work for straight cuts. I went back to cutting them by hand and did just fine. This tool does not make the job easier with circles.

Great in specific circumstances
Im using this for a circular sae. It works with other types of saws. This is great for cutting the edge of a board straight if the opposing edge is already straight. If the other edge is not perfectly straight, or if the board is wider than this guide, then it will not be of help. It is easy to attach the saw to this and to remove it. It just clamps onto the saw with a couple of bolts.

Not a good universal option
I specifically picked this because it was labeled as universal so I could use with my jigsaw and skill saw. Itâs clear adding the skill saw function was an after thought. The plastic wing nuts and double sided screws to lock the guide onto the saw arenât reliable and donât give a tight enough fit to trust. The saw was able to easily shift not only giving a bad cut, but exposing the user to potential harm when it unexpectedly shifts away from the guide. I havenât used it for the jigsaw yet but because it will sit in the middle of the device it will probably be more secure. The included instructions leave a lotTo be desired on proper setup and use, I wasnât able to find any setup/demo videos that Boone online either.

No table saw? Use this with your circular or jig saw. It works!
This guide proved to be sufficient for helping me cut straight cuts with my circular saw. Unlike more expensive systems, you must really take your time. Its a little flimsy but its easy to attach your saw and it does a good job keeping it locked in place. It’s far more affordable than its primary competitor’s brand and it still functions the same. Overall it’s a decent alternative to using a table saw. All the long cuts you see in the pictures were made using this.
