OMG what a great computer (as a home server)
I wanted a powerful computer; enough to run a few heavier server applications. It boots quickly and is super lightweight. At the moment, I only have installed rustdesk which runs fine so I haven’t really tested its performance. Really great computer if you can get it at a good price.

Died after one month
While this thing worked, it was a plenty suitable mini PC. Oculink is a nice feature in any mini PC if you need graphical capabilities. The i9-12900HK has pretty good performance for the price, but it ran hotter than I expected; I put it up on a little riser to improve airflow underneath it, which helped a little. However, it died on its 28th day–luckily just barely within the return window. Unsure if I just got unlucky with a defective unit or if cramming such a hot CPU into such a tiny machine is a design flaw.

This is a great value! I believe this must be older inventory because the pre-installed Windows 11 Pro is version 22H2. This version no longer is supported by Microsoft, so you need to download and run the free Windows Installation Assistant from Microsoft and do the free upgrade to Windows 11 version 24H2.The 12900HX CPU in this unit was the flagship processor in 2022 and was very high-priced and hard to get. Today, while only being less then 20% slower than a 14900HX, its less than half the price!I found this unit to be super quiet! Upgrading it (which, in my opinion, is unnecessary given how well equipped it comes) is super easy because you simply press down on the lid in two corners and it pops open. No tools needed. Inside you’ll find DDR4 RAM and a 4,800MBps Gen4 NVMe drive with a 1TB capacity. The included Wifi is 6E with v5.2 of Bluetooth (MediaTek) and the two 2.5GBe LAN ports are Intel v226.The unit comes with an HDMI cable, a SATA cable with screws if you want to install a 2.5″ drive under the lid, a cooling fan on the NVMe heatsink, and a VESA mount with screws for mounting the PC to the back of a monitor or under a desk, etc…In many ways, the Intel Iris XE iGPU is much preferred over the newer iGPU on the later generation Intel CPUs (as of 2025).You simply are not going to find a better deal for this much power, RAM and storage! I imagine when these sell out, they likely aren’t making them any more. My advice is get one while you can. It’s an amazing deal until the inventory is depleted…

Good hardware, but only shows up as 12 cores not 14.
Seems to run fine with no crashing. Hyper-v Server 2019 will not load the NIC drivers natively, but that is not a knock on the hardware, just a compatibility note. The biggest issue is that Windows only reports 12 cores, not the 14 advertised.

Fantastic little work horse! Validated
I have three of these running a virtual machine cluster of (24) VM’s, 8 on each device or node. I rarely write reviews on here but when one is warranted, I will. These devices have been running 24/7/365 for approaching 1 year now without even the slightest hiccup on any of them. The only nuance I would say between the way I am using them, versus how many are likely using them on here, is that they are running Ubuntu, not Windows. I especially like that they have dual 2.5Gps LAN ports which makes redundancy a great back-up in this use case. There a bunch of brands pushing mini PC’s on here and I have probably tried a few over the last 2-3 years, many of them end up RMA, but not this model or brand. They really put some thought into them and designed a quality product at this price point. When you consider the cost of having the services these devices in the cloud, versus in a setup like this, the ROI for them is paid off in about 2 weeks. LOL. Great buy! Little workhorses.Â
