Makes great espresso even using a terrible bean grinder.
Had this for just a week now and I really like it.Pro: After unboxing I had to use it right away… duh. But all I had on hand was blond roast beans I had ground 2 weeks ago with a old blade grinder, I ground them up some more just to try to get an espresso grind equivalent. And BAM this machine worked perfect with that, I got a double shot that had 2/3 to 3/4 crema and tasted like heaven. Been drinking the crap outta this thing since and it’s perfect every time.Con: The milk foamer is only so so. It foams but it’s not thick foam. I had watched a million videos on how to foam using this type machine and it just ain’t cutting it. The steamer wand just don’t have enough pressure to work good, I mean it kinda/sorta works ok and some people will think it’s just great, but I also bought a Morpilot brand machine for foaming and heating milk and that thing out does this by a million to 1.So in IMHO:Great for espresso, especially if you have a not so good grinder, as this is a pressurised machine it just uses pressure to force the water thru uneven bean grinds with dual wall filter baskets.But for me the steamer wand just don’t work good enough, oh it works ok …it foams but not thick foam, I like really thick foam. Also it would take 7 or 8 minutes of steaming to heat the milk…who wants to hold a stupid milk cup for 7 or 8 minutes? Not me.With that knowledge in hand would I have still bought this machine…..yes.So I guess it was a good buy after all as it makes great espresso using beans you could grind with a hammer. 🙂 And it is dirt cheap …$119.99 at this time point, super cheap compared to the other similar espresso machines listed.

Avoid this machine
Coffee stream starts and stops. Takes several minutes to make a tiny cup of espresso. Machine is not heavy enough. Have to hold down the machine when setting or removing the filter/coffee holder.(This was a Consumer Reports top pic for budget machines. Time to cancel that subscription. No idea how this machine got through testing and finished at the top.)

Amazing Value
This is my third espresso machine. My main machine up to now has been a Breville which was around $600 to $700 ten years ago when I picked it up at a local department store. This Mr. Coffee machine basically does the exact same thing (except it doesn’t have a built-in grinder) at a fraction of the price. You can pick up a grinder, if necessary, for under $20. I have no complaints at all about functionality. The milk frother works well. The coffee basket is easy to clean. The tamper / scoop tool combo is convenient.The machine is stylish and looks good in the kitchen.I’ve been using this for four months without any issues. Time will tell if the machine is durable and lasts a long time. But so far, so good.

Design flaw
Only 4 stars because of 1 major design flaw. You cannot fit any regular sized coffee mug to catch the espresso. It needs just another 1/4 inch of clearance and is kinda driving me nuts each morning
