Cannot be powered by furnace
This thermostat is entry level and the quality seems to be good. The finish and screen are good. The operation is awkward where codes are used and you have to have the manual to understand what they are to set up this thermostat. The unit cannot be powered by the furnce by connecting the C wire. It has to have batteries to work. It’s not a convenient device.

Nice no-frills version, but make sure you know what options you have or need
Our place had a similar Honeywell gage. I thought getting the newer version would improve on the house power consumption and the configuration settings. Somehow the original was password locked so upgrading was an option.However this device didn’t have or come with the ability to monitor each room temperature and humidity. The Google Nest we bought actually does have these features and we immediately took this one off and put the nest one upI think both or should say all three were fairly easy to setup and use. Just the Nest has way better configuration and options to save you money and AC maintenance. This MODEL just sets the temperature up and makes it thatHowever it’s important in areas where it’s humid that you need to monitor that as well. This no-frills version doesn’t have location conservative settings. So when you leave it can stop trying to keep it super optimal at whatever you set it at. With the Nest product it’ll see when you are out and only take action when it knows your coming back home. Saving you more money

Easy swap for my application.
Easy swap into my camper replacing the camper’s original thermostat. 2 wire hook up was easy and I now get way better temperature adjustment.
