Essential
The camera itself records at a very good HD quality. Installation is super simple and the cable management varies on your preference and vehicle type. The only downside is the app functionality, which is pretty terrible. Also, don’t believe the hype, you CAN use 3rd party SD cards. Just make sure it’s the right format.

Compact, Sleek, and Feature-Packed Dash Cam â A Must-Have for Peace of Mind
The Nextbase Piqo 1080 dash cam is a fantastic addition to any vehicle. Setting it up was straightforward, although I did encounter a minor issue initially. After connecting everything, the camera wouldnât turn on. I realized the problem was with the power adapter, which wasnât working. Once I plugged the camera directly into my Bluetooth USB port, it powered right on, with the red/blue ring lighting up â a simple fix but worth noting for anyone else who may run into this issue.Once powered up, the setup was a breeze, and the camera worked flawlessly. The sleek, compact design is perfect â itâs so discreet that you barely notice it on the windshield unless youâre looking closely. It came with everything I needed to mount it securely, and the instructions were clear and easy to follow. One important thing to note: the Piqo doesnât work with a standard microSD card. I had to use a Class 10 microSD card for it to operate properly, so make sure you have the right one ready. The cameraâs features are impressive, especially the ability to view everything directly from my phone. It provides peace of mind knowing itâs always there, capturing footage. While I hope I never have to rely on it in the event of an accident, I feel confident that the Nextbase Piqo will be there when I need it. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable, easy-to-use dash cam!

Horrific setup experience
Horrific setup. Battled bluetooth setup then wifi connection setup, rinse and repeat. It’s time for these electronics manufacturers to stop relying on “connect to the wifi network created by the device” as a setup paradigm. Lots of blockers in the setup where you can’t proceed without completing above setup issues. Never did get view setup completed.

App never worked
This dash cam seemed to be a great price, video quality, low profile, memory storage, and easy installation but I wasnât able to try it out since the bluetooth didnât connect the camera to the app. I tried multiple times, and though the camera was visible and detected, the Bluetooth never connected, rendering it unusable.

Connection to phone for reviewing video is not great
I like the videos this records, I bought the cable that allows it to stay on while parked and the car is turned off. All this is great, BUT the connection time with my phone (iPhone 15) is so slow and trying to review the videos over the wireless connection is near impossible with the disconnections. Having to take the card out and review video on my computer via another app is not ideal. The video is clear and it picks up the sound really well though.

Easy install and out of your sight line.
Easy to install and it’s out of the way. Quality is good, even in lower light.

Pretty good little cam
Don’t let the “1K” camera scare you off. I don’t know how, but this dash cam actually makes a pretty good picture. Certainly good enough for a dash cam.Getting it set up and everything thing might be a little task, but once you’ve got that down, you’re golden. Great little features including voice activation.By the way, you’ll need a micro SD card… not a normal either… class 10. So it was a little annoying to have to go get one. I mean, I suppose that’s how they keep the price down, but I’d rather they raise the price and include one instead of finding out when you’re all excited to get going!I hope you liked my review. I always try really hard to write reviews are are candid, honest, and helpful for your shopping decisions. No AI here… all the poor writing is mine and mine alone! 😛

Mach was es soll, einzig die Anzeige von MPH anstelle KM/H finde ich unpassend, sollte mit einem Firmware Update leicht zu Beheben sein.

So far so good the only issue that I have is that it relies on wireless connection for you to watch videos on your phone through the app so if I am not near the camera, I canât watch any videos from the library or even connect my phone to the camera. I also got the quick connect, which is good because my camera will continue to be on even when my car is off.

Good little dash cam. Easy to install and get mounted. However the app connection is an absolute nightmare to get connected. You have to make sure youâre not on WiFi while setting it up because it needs to create WiFi connection between the dash cam and your phone to update and then finally let you see whatâs going on. Other than that headache itâs a pretty nifty camera

Ok, so let’s start with the good things, when you can see it the picture quality is ok and to be fair the camera is pretty cheap considering that. This is my fourth Nextbase dash cam and the other three were simple to install, stick in a memory card, attach to windscreen, route cable and plug in and finally check picture from back screen. Unfortunately with this camera things are far from simple. I refused to stick it to the screen as suggested in the set up video until I had paired it to the Nextbase app. After nearly an hour and four attempts (250 mb/s wifi) I finally managed to download the recommended firmware update which after two attempts installed. I’ve had this thing about a week, the app randomly refuses to connect to the camera (IOS 18.5) when it does sometimes it will not show images in the library just an eternal downloading screen that never ends, sometimes it will say that the camera is not connected even though the home screen says it is. A reboot of my phone left the app with just a Grey screen which needed a further reboot to fix although it isn’t fixed. Not a problem I thought, the camera just slides off its mount and I can view the files in the old fashioned way. There is no way this camera will slide off its mount on my windscreen probably without the use of a hammer and chisel which I may yet resort to so I can send it back for a refund. Come on Nextbase, I think you have seriously let yourselves down here. Update the app worked again briefly and I was about to change my review but sadly again today it reverted to the same issue of never ending syncing so still utterly useless in my opinion.

Sticks out from the windscreen too much, mounting bracket poorly designed. Does not stay connected to my phone and worst of all will not install the latest available firmware update, says it is updating but never does. Do not buy this.
