Perfect Outdoor Ceiling Fan â Stylish, Quiet, and Functional!
I purchased the 42″ Black Outdoor Ceiling Fan with Light for our backyard gazebo, and I couldnât be happier with it! Hereâs a quick breakdown of my experience:Installation was pretty straightforward. It comes with a plug-in cord, which made things easier since I didnât have to hardwire it. The instructions were clear, and all necessary hardware was included. It took me about an hour to get it mounted and running.The fan has a sleek, modern look with a matte black finish that complements my outdoor décor perfectly. I’m not kidding when I say this was a pleasure to install
I have not had the pleasure (a word I use facetiously) of installing a ceiling fan before, but have had my share of light fixtures and it’s never been fun. But this one, mounted to my patio cover in the back yard, was so easy that I did 90% of it sitting in my patio chair. The only parts I did standing were screwing the bracket to the wood and bolting the fan to the bracket. It came with a long cord that plugs into the wall and disconnects 6-8 inches from the fan via a 3 pin waterproof connector and I have to route the power how I want it, but I am going to be installing a new patio sconce and our garland leds are plugged into that. I have to install a socket in addition to the new sconce because the new one doesn’t have one, but when it’s all done, it will all run on the same switch. However, in addition to being on the same switch circuit, this has a remote control to change speed, light brightness and wavelength, and fan direction, as well. It’s been holstered to the wall next to the switch. I believe it is bluetooth, but haven’t needed to tap it yet. This was actually a pleasure to install and for only having three blades? This things blows!

Don’t use the included hardware
I will start by explaining why this lost one star. The included hardware is of poor quality. I pre-drilled holes in wood before putting in the screws. When I was putting my second screw in the head snapped off. I then pulled out the first screw, moved the mount a little bit, drilled new holes, but the first screw in and that head snapped off too. I then had to move the mount a little bit more and drill two new holes and used two of my own screws to mount it. The concerning thing about this is that these screws are what hold the mount in place which then holds the entire ceiling fan. Since this is an outdoor fan, I mounted it over my hot tub. If those screws fell apart while that is mounted above me, then I have an electric item falling into a tub of water. Not ideal. I would suggest tossing out the screws that they give you and just using some of your own that are of better quality.The LED light that mounts inside the fan was also missing one of the magnetic connection points. The panel snaps onto be steel plate to hold it in place. With one of the maggots missing, I had to use a little glue to hold that third point in place so the LED panel was not hanging at an angle.On to the fan and light themselves: the fan works great and the light goes from the perfect level of dim that I wanted all the way up to bright enough that I can see every spec of dirt that I need to clean out of the hot tub. You can pick from three color settings and you can brighten or dim the light to your heart’s content. The fan itself has six speeds and can really move a lot of air if you turn it up high. The remote works perfectly well and it’s easy to use. I also downloaded the app and was able to add it to that, so now I can control this with my phone, if I wanted to. The fan blades are made of plastic, which I’m sure they are waterproof. The electrical connection screws together and the cord is plenty long enough to get to the plug that I need to attach it to.I follow the instructions to put the fan together and it was very straightforward and easy to do. The only problems I ran into were the broken screws and the missing magnet for mounting in the LED panel. One extra note on the LED panel: flipping the cable over there so the connection is upside down then plugging it in. It does actually plug in very easily.
