Very sturdy, great looking, too!
UPDATE: Still going strong in 2024. Came back to this review to double-check the date I received it so I could find the right grill cover to re-order. The only thing I have to add is this: Make sure the grill is covered during a rain because the back has an opening where rain can enter the drip pan. If your drip pan is not empty, overflowing with rain water can make a real mess. Other than that, I still love and use this grill. I especially like it for small picana roasts, pork tenderloins, steaks (my favorites now are thick, even delmonico). My original review, from 2021, is below this:I just made an interstate move–North. While I have several larger-size Weber grills already, for the cold winter months, I wanted something compact, on the small side to fit up close to the house, and easy (and quick) to use. Saw this model from Permasteel, read the few reviews (because it is a fairly new offering), and got excited. Only gave it a few hours thought before I hit the buy button. I am really happy with this choice! It compares very favorably with Weber products. In fact, it is sturdier than the Weber grills. The hood is stronger and thicker and heavier–which, to me, means it retains the heat better. The concession I made–for the sake of quicker and easier access in the cold–was to go with a two burner, rather than the three burner style on my Weber grills. Which means that I gave up the MOM setting that I could use on the Webers for roasting large cuts of meat.I know there are a lot of hardy folks out there who do not mind grilling and smoking in the cold. I am not one of them–yet. So this is the way I’ve set up this Permasteel grill for my use this winter: It has a grill top of 16″ square. To save on clean up time out in the snow, I’ve added a 14″ square cast iron griddle plate, (and I’ve also got a 16″ round cast iron pizza pan, too). So I can do burgers, brats, sausage, duck breasts, peppers and onions, veggies, etc., without having to use elbow grease and a grill brush in the cold. No grill plates, no drip pan to clean in the frigid weather. I just lift the griddle plate and place it in a low, flat cardboard box and cart it into the house for cleanup.I’m really happy with how our holiday dinner turned out yesterday: I took a small boneless lamb leg, sliced it up, seasoned up the slices, bagged it with those cute small bell peppers and a bit of olive oil. Preheated the grill (closed, and with the griddle plate in place) for 10-15 minutes. Took the bag of lamb and peppers out along with a platter and a pair of tongs. I was back in the house in about 10 minutes with nicely charred meat and veggies.I highly recommend this grill.PS: I store the grill with the side tables down and protected with this grill cover from Classic Accessories. It even decently matches the beautiful color of the “Copper” color. The “copper” is more of a really beautiful brown color–not a metallic color and no “reddish” hue that usually accompanies something called copper. The front door of the grill is not a single sheet of thin metal. (It’s way better than the door of a Weber grill.) It does have two sides to it. With my grill, it came dented, and the packing box in pieces. There was no way to return the whole thing to Amazon….. I called the customer service number that’s in the instruction manual and a very personable and easy-to-understand English-speaking individual assisted me quickly and professionally. I got the new door very quickly. Problem solved almost effortlessly.

Lacks quality control.
The grill is quite pretty, just as pictured. . . Except! There were a couple of dents and a bent panel. We fixed them with hammer and pliers, but it took time and extra effort. Luckily the damage was mostly in places where they could not be seen. Assembly was difficult, but the instructions were good and kept us on track. Except! There were no instructions about how to insert the battery for the electronic ignition nor what to do with the chain hanging on the door. We went to the internet for instructions for the battery, but the chain remains a mystery. Assembly took two people four hours. If it wasn’t such a nice Looking grill I might have given it 3 stars for the dents.

Very nice quality.
Solid. Shipping did very well and was packed well. Took a bit to assemble but was straight forward and not many tools required other than a Phillips-head screw driver.I used my cordless after hand turning screws a little. Unscrew the ignitor button to install battery. It is really a great buy and a good looking grill.

Dented Door
I was so happy to finally get a grill, one that I had been saving up for, and it came in with a dented door. Obviously, with a hundred parts and a box torn up, it isn’t easy to send in for a replacement. I don’t know how it cooks yet, so I can’t speak for that.

The BEST product and customer service EVER!!!!
Let me start by saying I am a 71 year old female, which began the morning by tearing open the box and beginning the process of assembling this grille by myself. No one to help, hold or lift, etc. While this took a while (3 to 4 hours) I completely assembled this cute little grille which fits perfectly on my tiny back patio in my tiny back yard. One of the magnets on the front frame was popped out and wouldnât fit back in. One of the burners had the packing plastic stuck to it so I decided to email customer service. Within minutes I received an email back giving me help through the process and telling me that they are sending me a new magnet and burner. When, at the last step, I tried to install the drip pan it wouldnât fit. I took pictures and sent them to the customer service rep who drew on my photo and showed me that I had installed the back panel bar in the wrong screw holes. Once changed it fit perfectly. I would give them 10 stars if I could. So pleased with my cute little grille and amazed that there are still customer service reps who go out of their way to help you. Thanks Liz.

Heat control
Hard to control the heat. The slightest breeze and it won’t even get to 300°. Looks great, perfect size for my condo. Just have to make sure it’s a perfect day.

Great grill
We love this grill. It takes time and patience to assemble. It works great. Perfect for our back porch and cooking for two of us. The thermometer stopped being accurate quickly. It can read 300F before lighting the grill and 600F lighted when we know that is not accurate. But cooking is great and it is easy to clean. Enjoy!

Great little grill.
Nice little grill, perfect for my downsized family. Easy to assemble if you’ve put a few grill together before. Heavy for such a small grill but it’s solid.
