Update: 8/21/2022PETLIBRO Customer Service reached out to me after seeing my review and offered a refund or replacement. I asked for a replacement and it was quickly shipped out and works great! Very pleased with companies with wonderful customer service so I highly recommend them!!! âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸âï¸Such a bummer! This thing worked perfectly for 5 months but of course as soon as we leave for vacation, it stopped! THANKFULLY my in laws were staying over and noticed it wasnât feeding our cat, so they manually fed him until we were back. Scary to think that he wouldnât have been fed if they werenât staying at our home. So disappointed. ð

My dog and I both love this machine
I love this feeder. It was bit difficult to get it set up but once I figured out the logic of the system it worked well. It hold a lot of kibble and has plenty of feeding option. I would like if the blue ready light would shut off between feedings but that is minor and the dog does not care. My dog hears the plink of the first kibbel when it hit the dish and and it is go time. The voice message is nice but my dog ignores it and just eats what falls out. Thankfully my dog has not figured out that when you hit the machine extra kibble has a habit of falling out,

Mine did not work from supplied power supply, but worked on battery, repair required
So the power supply and cord that came with my feeder worked fine. But inside the feeder the power port was not soldered on the pins. The connector was firmly attached to the board, but the copper pads for the connector pins were not soldered, the pads were bare copper and there was a gap between the pins and the board. I flowed some solder across the pins, then spent the next half hour cleaning the resulting shorted connections. Soldering the individual pins was not possible with my iron, and I didn’t have an SMD rework station, so applied solder until the copper pads were wetted, then used a solder sucker to reduce the solder volume until surface tension caused the shorted pins to self correct. I have solder paste and a heat gun, but I didn’t want to disassemble the unit to allow me to pull the board out, and it had a lot of hot glue that would have melted into the connectors, and I didn’t want to have to clean THAT up.But the upshot is I repaired the connector successfully.Here is the deal, the batteries are only for a backup, so running off the batteries isn’t going to work when I go on vacation. Furthermore, if the unit stops working while I’m 1000 miles away, that is the definition of a bad thing. So not only did I make sure it worked, I made sure it was drawing power from the correct source.I’m an engineer, and I design hands-off automation systems, so I value remote monitoring and control, as well as redundancy. I could have used a gravity feeder, but my cats tell me the food isn’t fresh from a gravity feeder. This unit has no remote control capability, so buying a different model with wifi support as a backup made a lot of sense, so I bought a PAPIFEED 5G WiFi Automatic Cat Food Dispenser for the backup. The Papifeed uses the smartlife app which I already had on my phone which I already have a number of ifttt automations running through, so I have a positive experience with the app already.Once I have some experience with the papifeed, I will post a review of it. I got the 5g wifi version because I was already aware of problems people have mixing 2.4g appliances on 5g networks, and while I know how to solve that issue, it is a better plan to get the 5g radio as the 2.4g radio will end up being the reason things stop working. Obviously I use multiple modes of monitoring, including a Yi brand pan/tilt camera, and alerts for sounds, motion, and other methods. One of the houses I monitor has ISP issues, so I even put in a Cisco dual-wan router and two /different/ ISP connections, and I haven non-wifi power control as well as wifi power control, so I can reboot anything that doesn’t have a built-in battery backup, I can even reboot the ISP modems and the Cisco router. The only thing I don’t have is remote hands.

Food Outlet Stuck Issue – Not Recommended for Dogs
The food outlet got easily stuck after vending 8+ portions at a time. It is a design defect that the outlet is too close to the food plate but the rotor is not powerful enough to push the pallets out.I have two dogs and each dog can have up to 20 portions a day, they usually eat twice daily (sometimes three times). In order to incorporate with this machine’s “bizarre habit”, I have to use all six feedings with a very small amount of portions (like 6 or so) and still need to cross my fingers because if the dogs didn’t eat anything in the plate during the interval, the next meal will fail because the outlet is already filled with food and it will get stuck.I tried hard for almost a week to monitor how this issue can be mitigated, the answer is it definitely cannot for my case, except that they redesign the product itself. The problem is so annoying and makes this product almost unusable in long term.To be short and make this review more helpful to the potential buyers (especially dog owners), I think you can probably try it if1. You have only one dog2. It is a pretty small dog and won’t have more than 20 portions in a day3. if they do in #2, make sure they have a good routine of eating (e.g. small amount, six times a day)Otherwise, I would strongly NOT recommend this product to youBesides the main defect, the product does have some highlightsPros1. It has a huge container that can hold 6L of food. That is impressive2. The food indicator can tell you when it will be out of supply very clearly with a very big blue/red LEDCons1. The screen is too small, barely visible as you need to read it at the same height at a close distance.2. The plastic plate is difficult to clean. No metal replacement is provided and as it is a so shallow plate, you can hardly find a metal replacement with a similar size3. The inner container is not cleanable. At least I’d hope the rotor can be detached for cleaning but it cannot.
