    LOVE THIS WARM SOUND
This is a wonderful player; I got it to play music at my photography studio, and it just sounds really warm, nice, and full. I play both CDs and Bluetooth.I’m also a pro musician, DJ, sound engineer, and music producer. This is a quality piece and looks good as well, which is a plus. Get it!

    Great for listening to music
For something that is small and compact, this system produces a great sound. It does great with Blue Tooth devices, and I really like the fact that it has a USB port in front that allows you to charge other devices when needed. It does play a great sound and is a great product. Great quality.

    Highly recommend against
I bought this for my young daughter who does not have a cell phone yet so doesn’t stream music from a device. I wanted an old fashioned cd/FM player because between all of us older family members we have a lot of cd’s to play. Well this Philips stereo arrived with no users manual, just a Quick Start guide. None of us could figure out how to search for FM stations easily, let alone how to set a program once we found a station. I went online to get answers about how to use it and found that a true user’s manual exists. Problem is I have no way to print it and I’m not interested in bothering a friend to print the 20 page manual. So I first called Philips, who I thought was a good name in electronics. Lady told me to just view the manual online. I had wanted my young daughter to be self-sufficient in learning the use of the stereo. And there are plenty of functions like a sleep mode and other things that I wanted her to learn to use. So then I messaged Amazon and was told to message seller and they would get me a printed manual. Seller said NO. Now I’ll never buy anything from seller PHOTOTECH!. They told me to ask Amazon, which I had already done. Sooo, I message Amazon again and get a wonderful lady who took all of this info, understood that I would like a printed manual for this $120 stereo and apparently has one printing and being sent to me. People need to wake up and not stand for paying good money for inferior products and then backing off from good customer service. If this were like $20 instead of $120 I wouldn’t complain. Then as to quality, it’s really just mediocre and not worth $120. I’d have been better off just buying a countertop all in one (no separate speaker) cd player/radio like I still have in my kitchen. They’re like $40 and easy to use. I’d return this but don’t want to take back a gift to my daughter. I highly appreciate what Amazon is doing to get me a printed copy. I strongly feel that they shouldn’t have to. Between Philips and the PHOTOTECH seller, one of them should have gotten it for me. I wish I had read more reviews when I was shopping. I had read a lot, but now see tons of people say they didn’t get a manual. I guarantee you won’t either if you buy it, and the one page quick start doesn’t give anywhere near enough detail, so be prepared to keep going online to figure out how to use the features and make sure you memorize it!

    Works well and easy
This compact micro stereo works is easy to use and pretty intuitive. No need for lengthy user manuals (though you can consult that, too). It has FM radio, a CD player that can also read MP3 disks, as well as Bluetooth and USB (for USB flash player) or headphone jack for audio input. However, you do need the remote control for most functions, that’s a bit of a drawback, but the remote is well designed (see below). The speakers are nothing special, but pretty good for a small size system. They are 6x9x5 inch and have a max. output power of 15 Watts. They are not super loud, but provide fairly undistorted, true sound at all volumes and don’t sound tinny. It is equally good for spoken word, classical music, and pop/jazz/rock. If you’re used to subwoofers, you may be disappointed because they don’t deliver bass on that level, but that’s to be expected. I have this system in my kitchen and I can now listen to music without getting annoyed at the bad sound quality. There is also a DSC sound enhancer that allows to switch between balanced, clear, powerful, warm and bright, but the differences are so small that you might as well forget this function. The Bluetooth pairs easily. My android phone, my iPad, and my Mac laptop all connected without any problem. It is not password protected, so in principle, someone could connect from the outside, but with a range of 10 meters (30 feet), it is rather unlikely in my neighborhood. Finally, the remote control is really well designed and neatly arranged. I read a lot of reviews of systems with tiny remotes or simply hard to understand remotes. This one is easy to use.All in all, I am pretty happy with this system. It is the right size and sound quality for my kitchen (about 14 by 13 feet). And it has a pretty clean, simple design, so it doesn’t sit in your house like some weird transformer toy (some compact stereo systems do look like that).Edit: Upon playing an MP3 disk with an audio book, I found out that there is no easy way to get to the desired track. Such an MP3 disk has easily 150 to 200 tracks. The system does not remember which track you were at when you turn it off and later on again. So, you have to remember the track yourself and then push the forward button 80 times if you want to get to track 80. You can’t punch in numbers. That’s a huge disadvantage and I took off one star because of that.
