This mower is a tank. First pull & it fired right up. I went from my previous 140cc mower to this 170cc. It’s like going from a 250cc dirt bike to a Harley. Plenty of serious power, yet lightweight and easy to maneuver. My only issue is the rear safety flap on the rear of the mower. It’s flimsy & loosens occasionally on the one side. Besides that minor issue, it’s the perfect mower for my needs.I was originally thinking about switching to a cordless electric mower but was skeptical about the batteries and they’re longevity. I’m old school, don’t mind adding gas and changing oil, and glad to have purchased this horse. Plus you can’t beat the price! ðð

Follow directions and enjoy this great little mower
This is awesome LAWN mower I stress that this mower can handle any normal lawn.It is not a ” back 40″ mowerWhat this mower is lightweight,powerful,maneuverable,fuel efficient.It is not all plastic, the body is steel, the plastic parts are not fragile, nor are they easily broken.The engine and drive shaft appear to be aluminum ( hence not a back 40 mower)Now my story…I ordered my mower to replace my broken mower, I received my mower quickly, assembled easily,oiled and fueled, she started first start.I mowed my yard and in an hour my mower had hit a baseball sized rock that was hidden in an overgrown patch of weeds.The mower stopped and seized the shaft was bent now here’s the important part..I was using the side discharge not bagging, both parts of the rock were held inside the mower they were not ejected!The mower body is not cheap, the engine is light not fragile and held together after hitting this rock.( I will try to post pics)Now I was flummoxed to say the least, I got my paperwork expecting to get the runaround, I sent my information and all pertinent information to Amerisun ( the manufacturer) and in less than 12 hours got a personal responseAmerisun immediately backed up their warranty and sent me a new mower, in one week ( today) I mowed my lawn again!Carefully checking for any debris. ðFor general all purpose lawn I cannot recommend this mower or company enough they stood by their product.Buy this mower got nice lawn use this got an average lawn with crab grass buy this mower.Got a back 40 find another model from this company. Great customer service

Lightweight but not for thick grass
My mower went out so I needed to find an affordable one to use for a couple months. On the plus side, it is lightweight and easy to put together with a strong motor (144cc). Negative is the back guard is cheap and will not last and the side chute is small and easily gets stopped up. I’ve cut my grass three times. Normally I can cut my grass in 1.5 hours. With this mower, it takes me over 2 hours because it keeps getting jammed with grass and I have to stop, clear, and re-start. I first used the side chute. It is small and after about 20 feet it gets stopped up. Then after about 15 more feet the mower stops because it gets clogged with grass. I did not have this problem with my 125cc Murray motor. I have two areas in my yard where I planted zoysia grass. Those areas must be too thick with grass because the mower would get clogged and I have to walk very slow to prevent it from cutting off. Using the mulching option is pointless with thick grass. The guard on the back is thin and very flexible. If you pull the mower back, the guard will go under the blade. It lasted me 30 minutes before going under the motor and being chopped up. Luckily, it isn’t needed because the back of the mower is low to the ground. This is the third mower I have purchased. It is the strongest but also it the most troublesome and the worst cut. Next year, I will be looking to see what Murray lawn mowers are on sale.Four months later, this mower is unusable. The plastic cannot handle the heat from the mower. One wheel broke off the front and the other is wobbly. The back guard broke off. I peg that holds the panel where the grass catcher attaches broke off so the panel can no longer be attached. The bottom of both sides of the handle at the bottom broke off. I contacted Amazon and PowerSmart was to get with me. They did not respond. The product is junk. It deserves less than one star. I wish I read the reviews at other sites.

Rock Guard Failure
The mower was well packaged and easy to assemble. It started easily and did a good job of mowing. Unfortunately the guard on the back of the mower is made of cheap plastic and not secured well. It failed on the first mow and the holding ties were lost in the grass.
