EASY TO USE PRODUCT
This product works very well as for the freeze protection and have only tested it in the low 20’s. The actual tape, however, does not stick to itself very well, so I recommend wrapping the start and finish with 3M 88 electrical tape, or another rubber tape or it will unravel. Otherwise, it is a good product for South Texas.

Great insulated tape… but how to cover it when installed?
Purchased this tape to be used with Redford outside faucet/ hydrant well cover due to the cover’s not reaching down to ground level.Tape has a red plastic removable layer over the sticky black insulation tape that is removed as you wind the tape around the pipe. Two people are handy to have when installing. We started on the top by the spigot, and there is a few inches of sticky back to start with and then this tape is wound around onto itself a bit and sticks well as you wind down the pipe. (There is plenty of tape with about a good foot leftover so no need to start any lower down.) Remember to wipe the pipe off first to give good adhesion before starting. We dug down into the ground about 8″ to reach below grade/ground level, and at the base of the pipe we wrapped the foam tape around a few times back up again. 11 feet goes a long way, thankfully. But then you are left with the sticky outside part of the tape on the pipe exposed, (which is curious why they don’t offer some kind of plastic cover to adhere and protect the tape from getting stuff blowing around outside stuck onto the tape.) We just used some cling food film to wrap around the insulated pipe wrap as that is all we had on hand. Not as thick of plastic as I’d have liked to have use, but it did the trick and we put the faucet cover over top and secured it all in place from the winter weather. The base of the pipe at ground level gets all the weather, so it IS protected from freezing using this insulated tape; but perhaps the red part of the tape that was peeled off is supposed to be put back onto the sticky exterior? ( That would be a bit odd, too… color wise.) Don’t know… lol. We might have installed it on backwards, but how the tape is rolled is how we put it on.Still recommend this as a winter solution with the well hydrant cover- but a 4 star for now due to the ‘how to deal with the sticky side’ issue once it is in place.

100% works!
I didnât order enough for my project but this would easily work for itâs intended use. The length is sufficient and would work for a std window unit for a portable a/c.For my my project, I wanted to see if I could vent the portable a/c to atm via the dryer vent line running an exhaust line of around 12â through the garage attic.Note, I have not sealed the attic door nor is the garage properly insulated. Wall temp as of 3PM in sept. is about 88F and garage door not insulated is 94F. So attic heat is dumping into the garage until I actually cut a 4â hole to run the line to the attic. At first, I found out the hard way if the garage is not properly insulated, or the length of the portable a/c unit exceeds say 12â with sharp bends on then it will cycle 2 mins on and 5 mins off or just not cycle. Iâve verified my hypothesis with a local vendor to swap units to rule out a faulty unit. I canât believe they let me swap out 4 units.Basically the discharge pressure increases and the compressor will overheat. You can just turn it off and on if it does run but stops after 10 mins but thatâs a code for it thermal throttling itself telling you that hey maybe your garage is really hot and this is a bad idea. Yes I probably shouldâve gotten a split case but you know what. This is for science and Iâm too currently invested otherwise to do so!Nevertheless, I still tested and so far if the garage isnât too hot it will work properly if I crack the garage door attic to my t splice of the dryer line. I did install a damper to the portable a/c to the split but not on the dryer due to the lint would probably clog there.Thank you for my rant! I will order more unless I can get sponsored some how. I want to cut a hole in the garage but wanted to test to make sure the portable ac would run.

Getting it to stick requires a PITA workaround.
I just did this today so I canât speak on cold protection. However, the application is not good. Wrapping this on a pipe was an experience in frustration, as it unraveled as fast as I put it on. It did not stick (even after proper prep of the pipe) to either the pipe or itself. Another customer recommends using electrical tape to keep it on. It would be better if the product just worked without a workaround. I bought this specifically because it was made in USA. I am truly disappointed particularly because a reapplication and readjustment will necessitate I crawl back into my crawlspace in 10° weather. Pleaseâ this is a known issue with this product. Use better adhesive! I will upload pics when I crawl back into the crawlspace.

High quality. Easy to install.
Iâm a renter that enjoys inexpensive DIY projects that make the living space nicer, more energy efficient, and reduces the likelihood of having to rely on my landlord for simple fixes and repairs I can do myself as well as mitigate potential, catastrophic failures that might have me living uncomfortably for periods of time due to her lack of urgency or care. I noticed the previous insulation on my compressor unitâs cold line had been hit with a weed eater way too many times, exposing it to the intense Florida sun. I ordered a pack of these and replaced the damaged insulation in two minutes. The copper line is now completely insulated and it looks nicer, too! I highly recommend this product.

Doesnât stick to itself
Horrible. Doesnât stick to itself so the tape just falls off. Impossible to wrap it tightly around the pipe, with the adhesive exposed and not get the adhesive stuck to other pipes or wires running next to it. Tried three times and just had to throw it away. Just use regular foam tubing insulation.
