    Impressive
We installed it today. So far we are loving it. I set it up without really much need for the directions. The view is better than expected and you can zoom in. You also can set off an alarm if something suspicious is going on. Time will tell how reliable it is but so far very pleased with it.

    Good quality camera.
Was looking for a camera to install inside of the garage. Had hoped the manufacturer of the current camera system had released the expanded hub but so far they have not.A coworker told me of Reolink and he uses them for both his house as well as cabin. He liked the fact that they have internal storage up to 128Gb, were WiFi, and did NOT require a hub or an account. So decided to give this specific model a try as it is barely noticeable in the upper corner of a white wall.Setting it up was a bit more of a challenge than the original system. Once set up, it was quite easy to work with and manage.A key feature is the camera can be set up for either 2.4GHz or 5GHz networks. Original system cannot do that. Another key feature for the security minded is the cameras can be password protected. As a former IT manager, this is VERY important to me.This camera is being used indoors so that means I need to monitor the battery life and charge it on occasion. May just run a cable over to leave connected to the charger. A minor downside is you have to use a Type A – Type C charging cable (theirs). I would prefer to use a Type C- Type C.So far, the pros outweigh the cons by so much that a 2nd has been ordered (the full kit) so that I can place it to cover a blind spot. The full kit includes the solar panel.

Camera easy to set up and solar powered, but unsure about how long it will last.
Camera is solar powered, which makes it easy to install in locations without power access. Our other REOLINK camera died in three years, so will have to see how long this one lasts. Check out other reviews to see longevity. Set up is very easy as is installation.

    Poor Battery charge life
This is my third Reolink camera, 2 in 2021 and one in 2022. I returned the previous two. This one is a Pro 3 and I like it better.I have also bought, and returned, a nest camera, a blink, a ring, an Arlo because they were lousy.Reolink Pro 3 Positive pointsImage quality is very goodEasy to install and add to your wifiSupport is decent considering they are somewhere in China or Hong Kong. It will take a day or two to respond.Reolink Pro 3 Negative pointsThe battery charge last less than a week and stops working at about 15% charge. You can set the sensitivity to a lower setting but you will miss over 75% of the action. This defeats the purpose of the camera. I have it set it to minimum and still have to charge it weekly. Leave on a week’s vacation and you will miss lots of recordings. By the way, none of the other cameras’ batteries last that long either, even the ones that claim to do so!Bottom line is that none of the battery operated cameras function the way the manufacturer tells you, or the way the reviewers tell you. Are they lying? Maybe exaggerating! they review these units with optimal set ups. In other words, their routers, their wifi, is a one to one set up for review. They can control the distance to the camera and every other aspect. We, the normal users, do not have similar capabilities. We can’t control the distance between the router and the camera, we can not control the bandwidth, and we have a dozen other pieces of equipment sucking up bandwidth from yours router, e.g. iPhones, iPads, tvs, games, etc. etc.Keeping that in mind, is it worth it to have a battery operated security camera? Only you can answer that. Is something better than nothing? You decide, but be aware that the unit will not likely operate exactly, or even close, to the way you expect!

Great product, app and user friendly.
This is my 3 rd purchase product from Reolink. I already purchase 8 home cameras and NVR. After that I added a reolink doorbell camera to my app and now I purchased this individual camera and solar charger for my boat at a different location.I am super impressed about reolinks app and ease of setting up and adding their cameras. Also love the fact that you don’t really need a subscription. Get the SD cards for doorbell or individual camera or hard wire your home cameras directly to a NVR.The product is very well made and doesn’t feel cheap. Best camera system so far for reasonable pricing for me.

I’ve been using Reolink cameras for over a decade. The latest camera mounted on my garage was the Argus 2 which served me very well for the last 3 or 4 years, but it’s 1080p resolution and low light performance were somewhat limited when compared to modern cameras. The Argus 3 Pro is the perfect upgrade. The camera has a very similar physical appearance and dimensions, so I can install it in the same spot, neatly hidden under my roof, yet with a full view of my driveway.Argus 3 Pro improves on the older model with a 2K resolution and significantly upgraded video quality. It’s not just the extra pixels, the video is less noisy and less compressed. Night time mode is a massive improvement capturing really quite detailed footage instead of the smudgy one from the old camera. The camera has a 120 degree wide field of view. The passive infrared sensor responsible for motion detection covers about 100 degrees of that and from about a week of experience, the slight gap on the sides doesn’t make any difference, and the motion detection has both better range and better accuracy than on Argus 2.There are two modes of night vision. There is the typical black & white where the camera turns on its infrared light to illuminate the frame – works very well, my preference for my pitch black backyard. And as an alternative there is a full colour mode in which the camera uses it’s small but pretty powerful spotlights. This works really well for my driveway where the street lights and my porch light partially light up the area and the camera lights flood the space directly in front of the garage. The colour mode is really surprisingly good!I have fully charged the Argus before installation and have it set up with the solar panel. The panel, thanks to long cable, is installed on the side of the garage to maximize the sun exposure. So far in about 10 days, the battery didn’t drop down below 95% and the 95% was because I was experimenting with motion detection. The battery life is very good and the panel is capable of providing a charge even on partially overcast days. The app has a nice widget showing statistics of the solar charging and battery state.Argus 3 Pro is fully compatible with Home Hub control centre/recorder, but if you don’t have one, it will still fully function as a standalone item. One of nice features of Reolink cameras is their ability to simultaneously record to an internal memory card and to the drive in the Home Hub. This offers additional redundancy in case of WiFi connection/power problems. The managment and viewing of the camera footage is accomplished via the Reolink app. Over the years Reolink really improved the experience, and overall I find it a full featured and capable app. If you have more than one Reolink camera, then the app can easily control all the units. The app works well and compared to an Eufy system I looked at recently, it is a much faster and more polished program.Overall, the Argus 3 is a mature, well designed and very capable camera, offering very good video quality and advanced features at a very reasonable price.

The “Reolink” branded 5MP Security Panel caught my eye when I saw the listing. I actually already own other Reolink branded Security camercas but those are hard wired, POE types which connect to a wired NVR. I did not currently own any with Solar Panel charging and a battery pack and was very interested in seeing if this could be integrated with my current hardwired setup. This product comes in retail style packaging as is typical with other Reolink products. Unpacking reveals quality components with good build construction. The outer shells are sturdy and durable enough for their intended uses. The Solar Panel is surprisingly compact and I like that. It does not take up much room in a installation. Initial setup is a fairly straightforward affair and is DIY friendly.. especially if you have ever installed any Reolink branded camera previously as it is basically the same procedure. However, I would recommend you do all the initial setup indoors on a table prior to actually going up on a ladder to mount it in its final location. In actual use this is functioning just as described and as intended. The video quality is quite good and it has decent low light performance. I wanted this unit to set up further back from my home in a tree line to get a view of the rear of the property looking back towards the house and it works well (about 150′ distance from back wall). I made use of a Samsung branded 128GB SD card for local storage backup with no issues. NOTE”: It is important to install an SD Card as these wireless Reolink units do NOT have the ability to view video or record to/from a Reolink NVR. However, I can confirm you can integrate this Camera within the Reolink mobile app and combine it with your hardwired system that way. This is great! I now have a wired 8 camera NVR system along with this 1 wireless solar unit all controllable from within the same Reolink app. This allows for the creation of a versatile, mixed use system. In the end, I am very pleased with the Reolink 5MP Solar Camera. It is well made as is typical for Reolink devices and performs well. The ability to easily incorporate it into my existing Reolink system via simple App integration is a standout feature for me. At the original listing price of $119.99, I feel this is reasonable for what you are getting here. This is a feature rich camera and it a good choice for not only a standalone system, but also adding to an existing Reolink based one. This is certainly worth considering in my opinion. It has exceeded my expectations.

What’s included:- Reolink Argus 3 Pro- Solar Panel- Solar Panel Mount- User guides and manuals- Mounting accessories for both camera and solar panel- Charging cable- Mounting strapsReolink’s Argue 3 Pro is a very good battery camera for it’s size, but because of that size requires regular charging. The camera is well built and durable. It looks like many of Reolink’s cameras and has the controls at the bottom of the camera, where a MicroSD card slot, reset button and on/off switch are found. There is also a second compartment which contains the USB-C charging port where the camera should be charged from. The camera is relatively small and fits in hand and mounting is quite simple, as Reolink provides everything necessary to mount the camera, minus the screwdriver of which a Phillips screwdriver is necessary to have on hand. This Reolink camera like others requires the Reolink app to be installed in order to be able to operate and get any benefit from the camera.Additionally, the ability to use a MicroSD card over paying for a subscription is something that Reolink continues to do with this camera which I really like. There are some important technical details to note that I will summarize now because they are meaningful when it comes to a purchasing decision, so here are some of the specs. below…- 5MP, 2K resolution (2880×1620)- Color night vision- Dual band wifi (2.4GHz/5GHz)- Smart detection which includes: Person, vehicle and animals- Black and white night vision- Smart home integration- Spotlights- Privacy Mask- Reolink Client- 2 way audio- 6000 mAh batteryWith those specs out of the way, let me talk about how well this camera works based on my experience.First of all, the camera works really well. The 5MP camera, while it drains more battery, is a very clear and crips picture. There is also the ability to lower the image quality if the camera’s 5MP resolution is a problem for your internet.Second, when it comes to internet connection, this is about average in terms of connectivity. It occasionally requires having to try to open up the feed in the app a couple of times every once in a while, but that’s about the average industry standard based on my experience with battery cameras.Third, the standard night vision using IR LEDs is good and Reolink allows you to increase brightness if needed in the app to get an even clearer black and white picture at night. The FPS with the typical IR LEDs tends to be higher for me than the colour night vision – I will say more on that in a moment. As far as the color night vision goes, it works fine and is not pixelated (which I was concerned about) and is relatively clear and really helps to add some detail when it comes to identifying features due to the inclusion of color. As far as the FPs between the two, the standard IR LEDs tends to get me 15 FPS while the color night vision tends to be a little lower at about 12 FPS. For me, I prefer the colour night vision and so I am willing to accept a slight drop in the FPS (frames per second) at least for now.Fourth, Reolink cameras have always had an issue with ghosting during the night and by ghosting I mean, for example, if a person walks across the camera’s field of view, the legs may become partially see-through and the faster an object moves the worse it can be. With this Argus 3 Pro, ghosting is quite good, but that’s on par with the non-colour version of the camera and I do notice the colour night vision has a little bit more ghosting than the standard IR LEDs.As far as cool down period goes, this too is about industry standard and about 30-45 seconds. By cool down period, I mean getting an initial message about an object being detected and then how long before a second notification is sent if the object remains in the camera’s field of view. To me, anything less than a minute is reasonable and anything above a minute is not a security camera but a hobby camera because so much can happen in the span of 30 seconds to a minute. As far as the person/vehicle and animal detection features go, its good. I don’t really keep the camera set to detect animals because that is an unnecessary drain on the battery in my opinion, unless there is a specific reason to want to see some animal ie damaging the garden etc. Thus, the person detection is good but it does take a bit of finessing with the app to get it right.Lastly, I just want to touch upon the camera’s battery. For this size camera, it has a smaller battery at just 6000 mAh and so that requires being charged pretty frequently, like every few weeks. In my case the camera is in a convenient location so it’s not much of a burden but if you plan on putting this camera somewhere that is very challenging to get to, the necessity to recharge the battery every few weeks is something to think about.Overall, this Reolink camera is quite good for a small battery wifi operated camera. Its quite reliable, has good night vision (colour or black and white), and a good supporting app. On the not so good side is the frequency with which the battery needs to be charged, and still some small ghosting issues depending on the circumstances as well as the fact that 10-15 FPS in my opinion in late 2025 is not good enough. Yes its a battery operated camera, but FPS really does impact clarity of images in my humble opinion.I did not test or use the solar panel because of the camera’s location so I cannot say anything on that, but one thing I think Reolink does really well is the use of Reolink Client and so this camera will work with that system which can create a desktop NVR if one wishes – very convenient and handy.Cheers,

Companies so called PIR sensor up to 33ft. Only works when someone comes very slowly and stay right in front for awhile, otherwise you won’t know who comes and passes by. Battery won’t last for even 2 months. It always stay not connected mode whenever I opens my app and have to reconnect it again every time.Won’t worth your hard earned money 👎👎
