Chopped strand mat on one side as a bond layer. Stitched (not woven) for flatter and stronger layers. Compatible with all resins. Drapes and wets out well. Most commonly used cloth for structural projects. ¼” strands of chopped glass fibers for mixing with resin as a filler or reinforcement. Used to create strong castings, filleting, filler and fairing. Much stronger than using powdered materials for thickening resin.

Very good wet out and high build rate (.044″)
The opposing (+45°/-45°) fiber alignment helps prevent twisting
Non-woven construction allows for more conform-ability of the material
Used for boat construction, wind turbine blades, snowboards, skateboards, skis and auto body repair
Higher glass to resin ratio compared to woven roving.
Customers say
Customers find the fiberglass material works well, with one mentioning its successful use in building a subwoofer box. Moreover, the material receives positive feedback for its quality and ease of cutting. However, customers disagree on how well it wets out. Additionally, the thickness receives mixed reviews, with some describing it as thick while others find it very dense.

NWRIDER –
Really nice product
I used this product to rebuild an anchor locker and it worked great. I paired this with Totalboat laminating resin and was really pleased with the finished result . I ran out of this 1708 Biaxial at one point and tired to use another brand from a marine store and ended up tearing out the other product due to how bad it performed. The marine store 1708 would not absorb the resin for some reason and I wasted a ton of resin trying to wet it out.

Great Price.

Terry –
Easy to work with cuts great
I like this 1708 fabric it was easy to lay out and cuts good with a razor blade
JJ119CRF –
Great product for the price!
Worked great for building a subwoofer box. Compliant enough to get into tight corners, but thick enough to only require a couple layers for a really strong enclosure. Also wets out really easily.

Delayed but worth the wait
Was not happy that it came a week later then promised, but I put the job on hold but got it done. Worked great, good quality glass
Teresa T –

Too dense for me
I give it 2 stars because its very dense and likely does a good job, unless you are shoring up a boat’s keel (which I am doing). It’s so heavy that it comes off the boat (by gravity) even though Its fille with epoxy.
