Worked well for me.
This item was well worth the money in my opinion. I first tried a small lower branch with about a 3″ diameter, about 15 feet up. I did it by myself and that produces problems with pinching the chain as the sides get cut. The chain was nice and sharp and the kit components were built well. After succeeding with the small branch I got the help of my son for the real branch which was 40 foot up and about 10″ in diameter. The job of getting the weighted bag over the limb where you want it is definitely a challenge. We ended up using a vortex football with heavy fishing line tied to the tail fins to get it done. Then we pulled the rope over. The rope supplied was nice but not ling enough for this limb so i used rope I had here. The cut went well but we did get bound up a few times but with gentle back and forth movement we got it to release and cut again. We had the best cutting when we were about 50 foot apart and used smooth and even cutting pressure on the pull and return strokes. You have to work in time with each other. I guess it took about 15 minutes to get through it. I wasn’t concerned with this but it id impossible to eliminate stripping some bark off the trunk without an under score cut to prevent it. All in all it saved me about 500 bucks over getting a bucket lift or a climber to do it, I do believe you need to be careful to learn what works best before attempting a cut that if half finished and bound up would still require the professional assistance and cost. It’s a good tool for me to have around. will never replace a chainsaw but has it’s value.

Rope Saw 55 inch High
I must admit that I was actually taken aback by the efficient performance of this saw, considering that it is such a little and lightweight instrument. Because I had numerous branches that were hanging over my patio and were unable to reach with a conventional pruning saw, it came at the perfect moment for me to have someone to help me. When it comes to cutting through heavier branches, the saw’s seventy sharp teeth are a genuine game-changer, and I discovered that both sides of the blade functioned effectively. The fact that the blade is double-sided was a huge benefit since it didn’t matter which way it was thrown over the branch; I could immediately start cutting without having to worry about the orientation of the blade. The length of the rope that was supplied was sufficient to reach the upper branches on my trees, which are around 25 to 30 feet in height. The length of the blade itself, which was 55 inches, made it possible for me to make a clean cut with little effort. The fact that this product may be carried about easily is among its many benefits. The fact that it can be readily stored in a tiny bag or even a pocket makes it far easier to transport throughout the yard. One of the things that struck me was how fast I was able to cut through a branch that was six inches thick. Sawing becomes a rhythmic and efficient action if you get the feel of it and become proficient at it. Because it allows you to work securely from the ground, I believe that everyone who has difficulty mounting ladders or who does not feel comfortable climbing should give this a try.

Solid Performer But Rope Sucked.
I was very surprised how well this saw cuts. I threw away the rope that came with this unit and used what I had. Takes some practice with the throw bag to get it over the limb. Once in place, no problem taking off a 3″ diameter Maple branch.

Powerful and Effective â Perfect for Outdoor Enthusiasts!
This 55-Inch high limb rope saw is a game-changer for anyone who needs to trim high branches or tackle tough tree work. Made with high-strength carbon and manganese steel, itâs incredibly durable and powerful. The 70 sharp teeth are evenly distributed on both sides, making cutting through thick 15-17 inch trunks fast and efficient. I was amazed at how quickly it sliced through large branches! The included 14oz throw weight bag is a great bonus and makes it easy to get the rope over high limbs without having to find rocks. Itâs a bit tricky to get the hang of, but with a little practice, itâs very effective. This saw is versatile and rugged enough for tree work and cutting logs for the wood burning stove. Highly recommended for anyone needing a reliable, portable cutting tool for the outdoors!

Good gear
This is a nice kit for the price! The chain is as sharp as it needs to be, the handles are comfortable and sturdy, the rope isn’t elastic, so you get a true pull. The throw bag is a good size, and it comes with all of the necessary connectors. Nice carrying case fits it all in neatly and stores in my camping gear easily. Very reasonably priced for the quality and completion of the kit. Definitely recommend it. Works probably better than advertised.

It works
I use this at work. I am a professional tree climber. It comes in handy when I don’t feel like climbing 65 feet high only to cut a single limb. I use this rope saw with a 200ft Dynemma throw line and it works very well. I usually tie a knot midline to attach the handles, the knot I use is called a “Bowline on a bite.” When it feels like it’s getting hung up; I jerk one side of the line to the other side and it usually finishes the cut or peels the limb down. It works flawlessly. The only way I could think of improving on its design is if it was constructed similar to a cord saw/quarry saw. Yes, it works. My coworkers and I laugh at it every time we use it but it gets the limbs down. We get thrilled every time we use it, it’s like a cheat code we don’t show the boss. When you first start cutting you can feel a number of teeth biting into the wood but as you work your way through the cut: it becomes harder to pull and less teeth are used until you get down to using one tooth and then POP! Here comes the limb falling down. The reason I use so much line is so I can stand away from the drop zone. Make sure to cut on the side of the limb where all the weight is at or you’ll peel the limb off the wrong way and it could bind up. So far I haven’t gotten it stuck because I haven’t cut anything too big or heavy or anything too close to the main trunk. I usually use it half way out on limbs that are sticking out too far.
