I bought this on sale and was very surprised how easy it was to get started. Great video that downloads to your phone in seconds. You have front videos. Rear Videos and single photos to choose from the memory card. I play back the 4K videos on a computer monitor and the quality is fantastic. I checked around several shops and they all wanted almost $300 to install this front/rear camera, I was shocked at that price and decided to try it myself. Very easy to tuck in the wires so you don’t see anything. The hard part is to HARD WIRE this unit to your fuse panel. You have to purchase the ROVE hard wire kit which basically has 3 wires to connect. One constant hot. One hot with the key on and a ground. You have to hardwire the unit if you want to take advantage of the parking/surveillance and G sensor features. I ran into a problem with my 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee the fuse box is under the front hood. There are no interior fuse locations. You would have to run the wires through the fire wall into the hood. Crazy. Maybe that’s why it is so expensive. If you have a normal car with a fuse box in the interior of your car the hardwire kit is a must. I ended up getting a OBD2 – to USB type C connector cord. $30.00 The OBD2 connector is the small 16 pin connector on the drives side that mechanics use to OBD (onboard diagnostics port) That jumper cord has only 3 pins in it (2 ground pins and one constant hot) . The camera is great. My installation problems are from my car and not this product.

Great 4k dual dash cam for a ridiculous low price
Iâve purchased several higher priced dash cams than the Rove, and quite frankly the Rove offers far superior performance at a far lower price point. I mean the value is incredible for what you get. The tech specs on this are actually more impressive than the flagship Garmin X310 cam that I also recently purchased. What separates the two is ease of use; the Garmin is easier to set up and easier to use, and also offers cloud based subscription services that arenât offered by Rove. The Garmin cams are also smaller and less obtrusive, with higher quality matte plastic. But as far as features and video quality for the money, this Rove is unmatched. You get a front 4k dash cam plus a rear dash cam, plus all necessary installation hardware, including a memory card, for 1/3 the cost of a comparable Garmin. The Rove doesnât have a touch screen, and setup is somewhat tedious even for someone such as myself who is very tech savvy. All said and done though, this camera is proof that you can have an outstanding flagship device for very low cost, provided youâre willing to deal with some tedious installation and setup as well as forgo any extra cloud based support.

The STARVIS 2 sensor really makes a difference â daytime footage is crystal clear, and night vision is surprisingly good. I replaced my old camera (Vantrue) with this camera. I LOVE it! Simple to use and set up. What I didn’t like was trying to set up my I phone with it – took several attempts. I was hoping to use my previous cables but no such luck so had to spend another $30 for the cable adaptors. My old dash cam didn’t show the picture after 30 seconds (but was recording) but this camera shows my picture continuously. I also like being able to pull it up on my phone and have play back to see what I want to see. My old camera didn’t have this capability – I am waiting for my brother to hard wire it (to the fuse box) but until then, I am running it via the cigarette lighter. (I deducted one star due to having issues with the app).

I bought 2 …. they were easy to setup in the house (about 1 hr for the first one and 20 minutes for the second one) before going into the vehicles … user manual well written … with intuitive prompts on the cameras… located below the rear view mirrors as they are small enough so no view obstruction.. once mounted it took about 1.5 hours each for the vehicles … very good display … only CAUTION … if you use your iPhone port or cigarette lighter port which are live whether or not the vehicle is on or not the camera will stay powered up even if the vehicle is off … so you would have to buy the hard-wire $45 kit … I decided to just turn off the unit when I leave the vehicle … lucky my wife’s vehicle is older Rouge so cigarette lighter is only powered when car is on …. worth the piece of mind with all of the challenges on the roads to-day ….
