The Safety 1st Décor Easy Install Tall & Wide Baby and Pet Gate is ideal for creating child and pet-friendly areas within your home. The baby gates for stairs and baby gates for dogs offer additional height protection with its 36-inch-tall frame. This pressure mounted baby gate requires no tools or drilling. The adjustable width fits openings from 29 to 47 inches, making it suitable for wide doorways and hallways. Equipped with the SecureTech indicator on the top rail, you can see when your gate is securely locked. Pressure-installed gate is quick to set up and easy to take down when not in use. Designed for versatility, this gate functions as a child gate for doorways or a dog gate. The walk through baby gate with door allows for easy pass-through without reinstallation. Ideal for pet owners, it serves as an indoor dog gate with door, suitable for the bottom of stairways or wide hallways. Perfect for children 6–24 months and great for pets, too. JPMA certified and meets CPSC requirements.
KEEP IT SECURE: The tall baby gate includes a red-to-green SecureTech visual indicator on the top rail that allows you to see when your gate is securely locked.
ESTABLISH CLEAR BOUNDARIES: The wide baby gate with door can be removed for periods of non-use, establishing clear boundaries for your little one or pet. Fits most doorways and works between rooms or at the bottom of the stairs.
QUICK-LIFT HANDLE: The pressure mounted baby gate easily lifts and unlocks with one hand, so you can move freely from room to room. When the walk thru baby gate is shut, the handle design is tough for little fingers to release and open.
WIDE AND ADJUSTABLE FIT: The adjustable baby gate is suitable for spaces between 29″” and 47″” wide and 36″” high. 4 wall cups included. Must install with wall cups to keep gate in place.
VERSATILE USAGE: Great as indoor dog gates or walk through child gates, it adjusts to fit most doorways and works between rooms or at the bottom of the stairs. To prevent falls, never use pressure-installed gate at top of stairs.

Great value
We ordered 2 and 1 is great the other the lock sticks and is hard for my 7 year old to open. We had a safety 1st gate when my 7 year old was baby and so since we had a lot of luck with it you bought 2 for our 1 year old. They look a lot nicer than most baby gates. A little more decorative. I like they are higher. They are very sturdy. My 1 year old tries to shake it and doesnât budge.

Perfect and classy solution
This gate was purchased to be used to confine my energetic puppy to a specific part of the house. After installing it, I could not be happier. I selected it because it was so much prettier than the standard styles available. It blends nicely with the rest of the decor and many visitors have commented on how nice it is. It is taller than most and very sturdy. Installation was quite easy and I love the fact that it has a visual indicator regarding the tension. It has been up over a month and has required absolutely no adjustment. A quick glance at the indicator confirms that! Because we were not using it as a âbaby gate,â we removed the secondary lock. If using as a child gate I think this would be very secure (assuming proper installation).I am so happy with this gate, I will be ordering another one to replace a very heavy and cumbersome non walk though gate.

Solid Mount & Well Made
May I preface my review by saying I am reviewing after installation with minimal use and reserve the right to post further after extended use. My experience with this type of gate is limited to two. One that I returned and this one. This gate is A+!! The gate is well packaged by the manufacture and will take a little time to have all components accessible. This is not a negative as it facilitated my gate to be in perfect condition upon arrival. That being said, it still only took about 20 minutes to unpack and install. It truly is “Easy Install” as the product says. The installation is impressively solid! The pressure mounts are rubber covered and provided an excellent anti slip surface for installation. As my installation was on a finished door jamb I was concerned about the pressure mount staying in place while in use as well as potential damage to the finished surfaces. My concerns were unfounded as the rubber on the pressure mount created a zero slip and cushioned well enough so as not to damage my my finished jamb. My wife has some arthritis in her hands and found the latch requires two hands to open. I have no problem with one hand. Needless to say, the latch is secure and that’s a plus! I had concerns that the gate at 36″ tall would look odd. It does not and and actually goes well with our traditional decor. Another big plus is the gate opening width. The 22″ walk through is a comfortable opening as opposed to what seems to be the industry standard of 18″. The finish is well done. It is dark brown in color and appears to be a baked on enamel or powder coat. The extensions that came with the gate are as follows; 2 ea. @ 6 1/8″ and 1 ea. @ 3 1/8″. I have suggested to the seller that they publish additional information concerning the extension sizes included so as to allow you to make sure that the gate will fit your opening. They were very helpful in supplying me with that additional information upon my request. I have only one less than 5 star comment. Attached to each side of the gate frame are two white warning stickers that run almost the entire height of the gate. Those stickers took almost as much time to remove as it did to install the gate. I understand the need for the warning label but be prepared for some patience in their removal. All in all I could not be happier. Buy it!

Nice option for a taller safety gate
Needed a 36″ tall gate to use effectively as a pet barrier. There are fewer options for 36″ than 24″. So that weeded out a lot of options. Looked in to those remaining and liked the options and featured of this model. It looks nice, installs easy and is fairly sturdy. It’s mostly metal with some plastic for the latch and hinge mechanisms. That said, the plastic bits are the more durable variety of plastic. Install was easy and, if you just read the instructions, you should be fine. If you rush, you will probably not be too happy and the install will be less sturdy. I will also add that most all options will have strengths and weaknesses. For this price point, you won’t find that perfect gate. You can find a very good one and with the right install you will likely be very pleased with this option. To that point, here are a few useful install tips…1. Order the pressure gate wall protector cups that go between the gate’s pressure tension screws and the surfaces that the tension screws will be pressing against. These make a huge difference in stability, allows more flexibility in where you can install, and you have the option of mounting the cups with a single screw through the middle if you want even further stability and peace of mine. I opted to mount the wall protector cups on the top two pressure tension screws where they meet the wall. I opted to leave the bottom two as simple wall protectors with pressure only. The top two because that is where the majority of the pressure will be applied when opening and closing the gate which would make the top of the gate more prone to slipping over time. It made a world of difference with the stability of the gate.2. When you install a pressure gate, take the time to think about which way you want the gate to open. It’s best the gate can open against a wall for when you want to leave the gate open and keep it out of your way.3. Take the time to be sure your safety gate is level top to bottom and front to back. It’s easy to do and will ensure the gate opens and closes as it should while providing an overall studier install. Just get the gate installed with enough pressure so that you can nudge it with a bit or pressure and make small adjustments until it is level. Then, fully tighten up the pressure screws. It will make a big difference in the stability of your gate.4. If using extensions, put the largest extensions on the hinge side. It is the studier side. The open side inherently has less stability and adding extensions to that side makes that weak point more prevalent. This is not a design flaw. It is just the reality of any pressure gate that the open side will be the weakest point.5. Try to evenly adjust the depth of the pressure screws. This will keep the gate square and more sturdy overall. These little things take very little time, but will make any pressure gate install far sturdier and reliable.

Ok. I did countless hours of research on baby dates before getting these because theyâre all too short, not wide enough, have reviews of missing or easily broken pieces, mark your walls, etc.But these gates are awesome!!! I bought two and on one accidentally cut the zip tie it says to leave on until the end (didnât see that sign fast enough). You leave it to make installation easier and oh man does it lol could install it on my own VERY easily.I love that you can just swing it behind you and it self-closes (SO convenient when carrying a baby and a thousand other things). I needed the extra wide for approx 43â and 45â. For 43â, I used two medium bars (take out the single bar) and for the 45â I used everything included. Really just followed the manual that tells you which bars to use for each size range. Fool proof. Now I didnât need the extra tall but oh man does it make a difference on your back. I bought for convenience and it really is convenient! It was an added bonus that the design is so modern and nice. Really looks great and is sturdy. We didnât use the wall plugs to hold it in place because we didnât want to put holes in the wall. The pressure mounts with just fine for now with baby pulling herself up to stand. Itâs only been a week but theyâve been superb.

We LOVE this gate! It’s nice and tall, with a wide opening to get in and out. It’s easy to use – even our older children can easily open and close the gate without having to ask mom or dad to open/close the gate for them. We’ve received many compliments on it’s stylish look and appearance. We’ll definitely be recommending this gate to our friends and family.

Great safety gate, with a few comments if youâre picky like me:Easy to install. No tools required, except for a tape measure if you donât want to install it twice. Very sturdy once I got it installed correctly – there is no way a toddler is breaking through this. Although it is pressure mounted, the instructions do require you either screw or sticker fasten a wall cup to your wall (which will definitely remove paint later onâ¦). I chose to buy some cheaper wall cup protectors on Amazon for $10 and it fully protects my banister now. Works great.***Word of caution: The gate itself measures 27â and as the instructions state, there are 3 extender pieces that can be added to fit up to a 47â gap. My space is 32â wide on the top, and 31â wide on the bottom, which made it too narrow for any extender to be added making the gate very wobbly (the pressure bolts had to be fully extended which makes the connection loose). Fortunately the gate comes with a few male-to-male attachments meant to connect other extender pieces – I had to use my drill to modify the hole to extend the gate and now it fits great (picture attached). So if your dimensions are complicated like mine (for example, baseboard trim on the bottom where the gate will connect), be prepared for a bit of McGivorâing.

I bought this gate to keep the deer off my deck. I loved the look of the gate when I first saw it. The only thing I would say is make the Do Not cut sign bigger and do not attach the box you need for parts to it. Also it would have been nice if there had been more sticky pads. But all together the gate works great on the outside wall and the stairs metal railing. I might buy another one for my other deck and get rid of the plastic baby gate I have there. I live in a ground floor apartment.

Got the gate today. It looks quite sturdy and elaborated from the technical/manufactured point of view but, when I’ve tried to install the extensions (I need both sides) realized that the describet upper and lower extensions “were missing”, but. after giving more consideration to the matter, realized that instead of being in the small cardboard box (with all the described parts/accessories) both extension pairs (upper and lower ones) were already installed to the extension modules. So, instead of getting alarmed about those parts missing, just check out the extension modules, in case you need to use them (one for an doorway up to 41″, both for an doorway of 41-47″, or the three of them, for a doorway maximum opening span of 48″…). Two tips: a) once you have removed the existing plastic parts frommboth the upper and lower sides of the main gate, in order to make room for the extension/connection parts (A and B, as per the manufacturer’s instructions) you’ll need only the lower pieces from the gate to install in the upper cavities of the extension modules (as the lower ones are factory installed already); I know it might sound tricky, but you’ll se how logical and “self-explaining” it’ll be; b) the closer you’ll come with the width of the whole gate assembly to the widht of the doorway (in other words, the less the tampons will have to protuberate out of the gate assemblly in order to secure them by pressure to the side jambs of the doorway, the sturdier the whole gate structure wll be (for instance, our doorway witdth is of 42″, and with two extension modules it got fixed to the door jumbs extremly sturdy, without having to use the round caps with their adhesive caps to the doorjumbs (impossible to remove if necessary in the future without peeling off even the sturdier oil paints, in my experience). Good luck!
