I am an absolute beginner at acrylic. Let me tell you about my experience. So the kit came with everything I could possibly need. There was three brushes of different sizes. Three shades of acrylic one being clear. A dappin dish. Gel polish, in the form of top coat, base coat, nude, pink and white. There was a mini lamp. There was a ton of nail art supplies and tools for shaping and prepping nails.So it took me a little bit of time to get the hang of the liquid to powder ratio since I don’t have any experience at all and I was having to experiment most of the time. I kept getting my beads too dry because I was afraid if they were wetter they would drip off my brush. So that ended with me having to use the brush like a plaster paddle and pushing the acrylic into position with the densest part of the brush near the base of the bristles. This was incorrect. Once I finally let my beads be wetter they were a lot easier to move and I didn’t have to paint them on. I just had to guide them into place. Wetter is better. You will definitely want to make sure you’re wiping your brush frequently between dips so that the acrylic does not clog up your brush. The brushes starting out are sturdy in their shape, but the more you go, the more the bristles loosen up and spread and mine started to take on a flatter shape which was great for spreading. I haven’t decided if I prefer the medium size brush or the smallest brush because they were both helpful but for different things. I was able to build decent structure but filing really crisped everything up. The drill that came with the kit was tiny yet powerful. It’s just a handpiece and a power cord with the controls on the cord and it doesn’t have a locking mechanism. It holds the bit with tension so you just push it in there and it holds it tight. I only used my drill on about half speed but it could have gone up much higher. I definitely learned a lot through my first trial application and I know on my second try it will be better because I will be able to take the knowledge that I gained. I didn’t get a chance to use most of the nail art items because there is just too many for one set of nails.This kit really is great if you don’t have anything and you want to get into the acrylic game. It comes with two practice fingers and some full cover nail tips and half cover nail tips. I would recommend you practice a lot before you move on to doing it on your own fingers. The biggest issue with working on your own hand is damaging your nails and getting the product on your skin which can cause allergies. But I fully believe this kit is sufficient to get many sets of nails with many different art styles. The monomer bottle was only 4 oz which is relatively small, but it is enough to get you through at least a few sets of nails. I wasted a lot because I’m learning but I only made it through about a quarter of the bottle. And I knocked over a whole dappin dish full of it. The smell is quite strong so you will want to work with ventilation and air circulation.I would definitely recommend this kit for starting out and saviland does also have a lot of additional acrylic options as well as gel and nail art for when you’re ready to expand your collection. The price is quite reasonable compared to many other kits with less products. The acrylic jars are about the size of a dip powder jar, but that is still plenty. You don’t really use a whole lot of powder per nail set and since you’re just starting out, you don’t need a giant container. This kit also includes a lot of staple items for doing nails so you won’t have to buy those separately. Introductory Kit Only !
This acrylic kit comes with virtually everything you would need to start doing your acrylics at home and for a fraction of the price than going to the salon. However I do have some major issues with it. And some people might wanna just pass on this altogether and purchase more professional/intermediate grade kits.My main gripe about this kit is the cheap and AWFUL acrylic powder. It dries SO fast and is SO glue-like it takes a LOT of monomer to get it to move at all down the nail, but it dries before you can even get a bead of it spread out.It’s somehow tacky and dries terribly. This left me with bumpy acrylic nails that I had to file down smooth. The acrylic powder colors themselves are bizarre. The pink acrylic is NOT like at a salon..it’s oddly translucent. And the white looks like chalk.The gel colors included are a small sample size and includes only very basic colors and the pink and beige were an odd hue.My next big issue was that the LED lamp included is a lower watt lamp and not at all strong. You may need to keep nails under the lamp for a lot longer just to get them to dry. It seems SO cheap that I was honestly surprised it even worked at all.I have done two sets of nails with this kit and both times my nails only lasted a week before they started to chip/break in half.It’s a cheaply priced kit and you get what you pay for. The kit includes everything you need to PRACTICE doing acrylic nails so for that reason I think it’s worth the minimal price tag.But you will quickly outgrow its usefulness and want to buy a separate lamp, better gel colors, new Filer, Plastic Nail Tips, and absolutely need a better quality acrylic powder/monomer kit.I would still encourage first timers to purchase it and try it out. it’s great as a one or two time experience. But anyone looking to get good at nails and continually do them at home…look into better quality kits.
