Best Over-Ear Headphones at This Pricepoint
These are perhaps the best headphones at their price point available on Amazon. If you don’t want to spend more than this, you can stop looking. There are better headphones at higher price points but none below this price point compare favorably. The SRH440 punches well above its weight-class, outperforming many competitor products that are priced at several multiples of the SRH440. Though the SRH440 lacks a bit in raw resolution, it produces sound EQ’d in a pleasant Harmon curve. The cups are not as noise-cancelling as other options, but are comfortable and fit snugly without placing undo pressure on the ears or head. The cord has plenty of length and can detach from the headphones without damaging the unit if it is accidentally pulled too far. The performance of these headphones pleasantly surprised me and has me curious about Shure’s more expensive headphones, such as the SRH840 and the SRH1540.

Comfortable, true, clean sound
We use them for HD TV and YouTube going through a Denon receiver every day wearing eyeglasses.Very comfortable for sitting, not jumping around. Wear for hours without impressions on head.Nice large cups to fully fit over ears with generous headband that easily adjusts. No sweating.Sound is not enhanced, very true to source.Soft pads so does a good job of decreasing outside sounds though my $350 noise cancelling headsets do a better job at cancelling outside sounds.Wired, which I wanted. Nice large wire so sturdy. They are much better than my prior highly rated headsets at the same price point.I actually purchased two and these won over the new set and my old set.

Headphones That Mean Business (Even with a Princess Leia Twist)
These Shure SRH440A professional-grade headphones are designed with podcasters, home recording artists, and studio professionals in mind, and are offered at a price point that makes them accessible to most budgets. They fit snuggly and comfortably. Sound quality is crisp.ProsComfortable Fit: The circumaural, closed-back design ensures comfort during extended recording or listening sessions. The grip is secure without being viselike. Iâve worn these for hours without discomfort, though I wish the grip was more adjustable.Outstanding Sound Quality: With a wide frequency range (5 Hz – 25 kHz) and high sensitivity, these headphones deliver crisp natural-sounding audio from treble to bass.Excellent Construction: Well-built headphones, with a combination of heavy plastic and (faux?) leather ear cups that perform durably and reliably like all Shure products. These headphones do not fold for travel.Superior Value: Competitively priced for most budgets.ConsNo Noise Cancellation: Lacks active noise-canceling technology. The headphones do a pretty good job of isolating the listener without thisâand you might not want or need noise canceling tech in a studioâbut know that these arenât meant for noisy environments.Wired Design: Not wireless, which might limit mobility. The headphones come with a straight cord about 10 feet long that plugs into a Shure Mic without locking there. Cable management can be an issue, so give thought to this. The cord plugs into the base of the left side speaker; it is not a Y cord.Aesthetic Quirk: The large cup design might give the wearer a “Princess Leia” headset look. I donât mind this but people do comment on their size.Overall, Iâm pleased with these headphones. While I wish they were a little smaller, a little lighter, and wireless, they offer excellent value for this price point.

Freaking Amazing
Crisp balanced sound! Amazing professional or entry level recording headphones! They display very crisp lows highs and good solid lows. The fit is adjustable, and is nicely made. These feel solid and durable. These can be used for everyday listening as well as studio recording.

These headphones are excellent for the price
The fit, adjustability, cord length, and sound are as good as other headphones which cost 5 times as much. I would rate them 10 out of 10

Very little usage and lost connection to music
Iâve had this product 2-3 weeks and used it less than the $30 headset I had before this. The cord is bad already. Now I have to revert back to my other headset to play my drums since Shure gave me a cheap choppy (ultimately horrible) set up to play pro music. Very disappointed. Everything sounds GREAT but the cord gave out so fast I canât enjoy it. (No I donât do anything crazy with it)ThanksIâm writing a review now because I left this on the table for weeks before I tried it again. I really got robbed. Iâd expect this from my $30 headset.

Great For Accurate Tuning of Podcast-Microphone Audio
With a near flat response in the ever so important midrange these phones are GREAT for tuning audio signatures in OTA (over the air) Radio Broadcast Transmitters and PODCAST microphone audio. The only negative point I have for the SRH-840A is that the optional coiled cord is way over priced (IMO) at $28.00.FYI: Although the plug ends on the SRH-840A cable looks to be exactly the same as plug ends on the cables that came with my Shure SRH940 .. they are not. My SRH-940 cables do not work with my newly purchased SRH-840A phones.

Llegó el producto sin problema y muy bien. –
Muy buen producto, lo uso para monitoreo y me funciona perfecto, cancela bastante bien el ruido y el audio es de buena calidad. Tal vez solo hace falta un estuche.

Great sound and build quality. Ive had them for a few years now and they still work the same.Only issue is if you need or want to replace the cable it is hard to find one that fits the same locking mechanism on the headphones side. Even some that are advertised as replacements don’t quite fit. Would prefer if it were something more standard.
