CLASSIC DESIGN: These siding nails by Simpson Strong-Tie are given a diamond point for easy driving, the most common point type in most hardware. These are manufactured with a head diameter of 0.092 inches, and length of 2-1/2 inches.
SECURE ATTACHMENT: Each of these nails have an annular ring shank which increases the withdrawal resistance to provide a strong and secure attachment. This greatly reduces the cupping of siding boards or wall panels that can occur when they are not properly secured.
CHECKER PATTERN: The Checker pattern on the head of these nails blends seamlessly with the wood grain, while also reducing glare from sunlight. This prevents them from standing out in the wood, creating an overall cleaner look, an important element in woodworking.
STAINLESS STEEL: These exterior nails come in Type 304 and Type 316 Stainless Steel, which in general provide corrosion resistance. However, it is best to pick Type our 316 stainless steel nails for seaside applications, or in applications where extra corrosion resistance is needed.
SIMPSON STRONG-TIE RELIABILITY: At Simpson Strong-Tie, our mission is to provide solutions that help people design and build safer, stronger structures. As a pioneer in the building industry, we have an unmatched passion for problem solving through skillful engineering and thoughtful innovation.

Bend/Jam easily
I bought these nails and used all of them last summer doing a hardie lap siding job. I bought 2.5″ because i was going through hardie, 3/8 inch plywood furring strips, then 3/4″ sheathing then hitting studs. I found they bent way too easily. Thought it might be my freeman nailer but when i bought the 2.5″ bosch .099 galv. nails i found they were extremely strong. I could nail over another nail and it would just find its path around and not bend or jam. With these SS nails I had a jam probably every 10-20 nails on average

Excellent nails – stainless steel is the best
Excellent nails I use in my Bostitch coil nail gun for fastening half log siding to my house. Every 16 inches, the stud gets 2 nails – one through the top of the log and one through the bottom – both at an angle due to the round shape of the siding. Stainless steel is definitely worth the extra cost when doing something so permanent and long term as attaching siding.

It does the job, but many double nails problems (2 nails thatr come out at once). Still when looking at the price, I would recommend it. I would buy it again.
