I pulled one star just because it is hard to clean. Overall this is a nice slushy machine. It’s a little on the smaller sided for my family but we just got smaller cups and it works fine for us.As for making slushys it does work great. We haven’t bothered with any pre-made mixes yet but we have made a lot of fresh fruit slushies from recipes we found online.Now for cleaning, this is where things get tough, it does pull apart to be washed but the main cylinder that does the cooling stays on the machine and the sealing surface at the machine is almost impossible to get to and if you don’t clean it right away you are in for a real headache. It’s hard enough to get to fresh, but if it sits overnight you are in for a long process trying to get to it with whatever you can find that will fit and scrub the lower section of the o-ring. I think that could be designed better.

Decent icy slush, some issues
I was very excited to start using this slushie maker, not just for parties but for everyday summer refreshment! Everything was off to a pretty good start. First time assembly, and starting it up, are simple enough. Adding liquids is very easy to do with clear min/max indicators. You can choose on a touch panel what type of drink/consistency you’re going for. It spins and freezes for a long while and eventually beeps to let you know it’s done. Sometimes it LOOKS done for a long time and doesn’t beep… I’m not sure why… but it doesn’t hurt to start dispensing early if you think it’s ready. Actually, when it gets to full slushiness, it is sometimes too chunky and needs to be eaten with a spoon rather than sipped through a straw. Besides the coolness of having it in my home, I’d get more enjoyment from several hundred pre-made slushes at the gas station for the same price.The main downside to this machine is how not-much it makes. I know it’s not the industrial grade machines at the gas station (although it works on a similar principle), but still, it’s like 4-6 servings at most. For a party, that’s not going to be a lot of fun when the first few people get a great slush and the rest have to wait 15-20 more minutes.Additionally, I have an issue with mine that came up after about 5 uses. The rubber stopper that holds the slush in until you pull the dispenser handle is removable for washing but now, it “removes itself” every other time I pull the handle down. It’s hard to explain but it sort of pops off the spring and results in any remaining slush in the container slowly but freely flowing out with nothing holding it back. It’s really frustrating and I would not have expected this from a $400 machine. Maybe the part is replaceable but it happened way too early in the product’s life.

The Perfect Slushy Machine!
THIS… Is the Inoviva Slushie machine, a 68Oz feature packed slushy machine with several ease of use features that have you coming back for more. Out of the box, the only real thing you need to do is add the drip plate and plug it in. The instructions are honestly really clear on what it can and cant do when it comes to turning your beverage into a slushy treat.Out of the box, this unit is obviously made very well. From the textured siding and chrome accents, to the easy to use touch screen and smooth handle, this slushy machine is built to go the distance. It also isn’t overly complicated; there is an obvious inlet for drinks, and a handle for the output. The only thing I would note is that it does put off heat in the rear, but that is expected from a machine that refrigerates as it goes. Something cool about the touch screen is that once you are going, it has a ‘lock’ button that turns on to keep you from accidentally turning it off or changing the settings. This is just a one stop ‘lock’ and pressing the lock icon lets you easily take control again.Ok so starting this beast up, there are a few easy tips that Inoviva added. If it is an alcoholic drink it needs to be between 2 and 16% abv content – and for all other drinks Inoviva says that it needs to be a sugary drink or that you need to add about two tablespoons of sugar (or another sugary substance), or you will need to buy a sugar free substitute. Why the need for sugar? The sugar works as an ‘anti freeze’ to keep the drink from freezing to a solid block, and if your drink doesn’t have enough the Slushie will stop working to prevent it from breaking. That being said, I started with Diet Cherry Pepsi, and I had to add enough sugar to get it to slush up that I would honestly just not recommend any diet drinks at all unless you plan on buying the specific sugar free substitute, as adding sugar just ended up being more of a hassle than its worth. Outside of the typical drink, this turns coffee’s into frappe’s, wines into a very fun slushie, it can make MARGS at home!!! And it also does a good job at turning fruit blends into a milkshake – that being said, the fruit needs to be well blended. Once selecting your option, it takes the slushy machine a claimed 15-60 minutes to turn your beverage into a treat. I found it to average around 30-35 minutes on average, really depending on volume just as much as WHAT you are slushifying as well. There are also 5 levels of ‘thickness’, from rather soft slushy to a more firm milkshake style consistency. While running the machine also isn’t really that loud, and while I can hear it in a quiet room, it is something that can be easily talked over and forgotten in your daily commotions.Ok, making slushys is cool… but how well and how EASY does it clean? And honestly, way easier than I would have expected. The slushy machine has a self cleaning feature, and all you really need to do is empty and clean the condensing tray in between treats. Deep cleaning is also a breeze as everything just slides out and can be easily hand washed.Overall, I couldn’t be more satisfied with not only the variety of options I have with creating a treat… but just how EASY it is to not only make, but clean up after. The touch controls are intuitive, and there isn’t any excess to get tripped up on. Inoviva has really hit it out of the park with this, and it has my wife and I racing to make breakfast frappes for work, and margaritas easily while we make dinner. I couldn’t be happier, and I can’t think of a way to truly make this process easier.
