A simply excellent phone case
I have been a longtime advocate for Smartish (formerly Silk!) cases. They make incredible products that look and feel great. This is probably my 7th case Iâve bought, and now as soon as I upgrade phones my next purchase is the Smartish case to go with it. Iâve gotten all of my friends and family buying them too, and there is unanimous agreement that they love these cases too. If you like the style, buy one, you will not regret it.

Great case
I usually never use cases on my phones, but i may have umm destroyed my iPhone 15Pro Max. I have since got a new iPhone 17, and decided it was small enough for a case. The case feels nice, has great texture on the edges, is not bulky, and has no uncomfortable edges/lines.

Pros: It fits the iPhone 17 Pro well. The buttons feel good, camera control is very responsive. Areas around front screen and camera bumps are raised enough to protect them from setting the phone down.Cons: It looks and feels cheap. Despite its name, itâs not as âgrippyâ as Iâd like. Lastly, the drop protection is questionable.Summary: ok for light use, but stay away if you are accident prone or want something that looks and feels nice nice.

Full disclosure – I havenât received my new iPhone 17 Pro Max yet – but Iâm using a similar Smartish case on my current iPhone 16 Pro Max so when I saw Smartish had these out for the new phones I immediately ordered it so Iâd have it ready to go.Iâve always kept my phones in a case, mostly because I know Iâm likely to drop my phone from time to time and I want to do everything I can to protect it and keep it in the best possible shape.Iâve used cases from a lot of different brands over the years – until I found out about Smartish. Before I found this brand, I had a clear plastic case on my phone. The problem though is the case was slippery, and on these larger Pro Max size phones, that was a problem for me. I started hunting for a case that was more âgrippyâ but it also had to still be slim. Smartish cases fit the bill perfectly. They are extremely well designed, theyâre extremely durable – Iâve dropped my phone several times with a Smartish case on it and the phone (and case) has survived unscathed. The back is smooth, the inside has a soft microfiber like finish, but the sides have this amazing grippy material. They even added subtle finger grooves. Itâs just so nice holding the phone with this case. You can see the texture in the photo I added to my review.I have no doubts that the cutouts for the new camera housing and all of the buttons will be aligned perfectly. I canât wait to get this case on my new phone. If youâre like me and trying to find a slim, lightweight case, that feels great in the hand, offers a really nice grip and feel, thatâs still super durable and protective, then good news – youâve found it!

My Phone’s Knight in Synthetic Rubber and Thermoplastic Polyurethane Armor
I can’t vouch for this specific Smartish case on the latest model of iPhone, but I can comment on Smartish cases for older phones. Smartish has been my phone’s knight in Synthetic Rubber and Thermoplastic Polyurethane armor for years now. I probably do that juggle-drop-catch thing with my phone once a month (I have the worst butter fingers. It’s like some sort of disease….). And the case’s “Grippy Not Sticky” sides — I always call them “Grippy Yet Slicky” sides because the grippies feel so slick (I think the marketing writer and I are on the same wavelength…) — has allowed me to catch the phone most of the time. And when I don’t catch it, who cares! The shock absorbers in the case protect it. You can confidently forgo AppleCare coverage with this case. I dropped my phone while running through a busy intersection once. A Toyota Corolla ran the phone over. I thought the phone was done for. But was it? No! The phone, securely shielded by my Smartish knight, worked just fine!Huzzah!
