Customers say
Customers find the glue sticks superior to standard hot glue and effective on metal surfaces, with positive feedback about their heat resistance. The bond strength and adhesion receive mixed reviews – while some find them stronger than regular glue sticks and adhere more strongly, others report poor adhesion. Customers disagree on the value for money, with some considering it worth the price while others find it expensive. Additionally, the adhesive size receives negative feedback, with one customer noting the sticks are too small for their glue gun.

Strong Bond!
I was attempting to put together a foam costume and absolutely nothing would stick to the high density foam! I was at my wits end!!After doing some research I found this glue and thought “What the heck?!” the only other alternative was starting from scratch with a different medium… THIS STUFF WORKS!I was so glad to have finally found a product that works! It’s not only hot but very sticky! One warning: It dries a lot faster than regular high-temp hot glue. So you have a shorter window to glue down your item. Once it’s stuck it’s stuck good!

Great for woodwork
Great for wood. Most hot glue doesnât hold but this does very well.

Great so far for use on plastics.
What I like is the performance of the adhesive on a plastic to plastic bond. I used it to repair a Halloween animatronic that I’ve had since 2008. It’s the first adhesive that has worked effectively on it. This same adhesive was not available locally. What I didn’t like was the delivery. It was purchased on November 1st and indicated next day delivery. There’s no minimum charge for this next day delivery. It only arrived today, and I really needed it yesterday as promised. The glue sticks are a little pricey, but considering the value of the animatronic, it was well worth it.

Tightly bonds polypropylene and everything else!
I have used these glue sticks in a Surebonder PRO8000A (a beastly 180-watt glue gun) to bond sheets of corrugated polypropylene (Coroplast) to EVA foam and polypropylene to itself. The adhesion between the glue and the polypropylene sheets is so strong that the plastic stretches before the glue detaches. Likewise, the EVA foam tears before the glue fails. I have also used this glue on wood, glass, and metal, and it outperforms the typical all-purpose glue sticks in every case. This glue needs to reach very high temperatures (380 degrees F) for proper tack, so you will need an appropriate glue gun. Also, if your work has a large thermal mass, you may need to preheat it with a heat gun so it doesn’t cool the glue down toon much before it has time to set.Furthermore, for some plastics, you may need to use sandpaper or heat and solvent to prepare the surface for bonding. As others have noted, this glue is just rebranded tecbond 260, so if you can find that product cheaper elsewhere (like ebay), go for it.When applied properly, this glue bonds low-surface-energy plastics better than most plastic-weld epoxies, and it’s so much easier and quicker – so it’s highly recommended in my book.

Creates Much Stronger Bonds Than Average Glue Sticks
These glue sticks are an excellent adhesive. I bought them when an item that I had bonded with regular glue sticks came apart under normal usage. After cleaning and re-bonding the items they have held together not only under normal use, but under heavy stress as well. The adhesive sets very quickly, it seems to me even somewhat quicker than regular hot melt glue. As a result, just be sure that you apply it carefully and with a good quality glue gun that doesn’t drip.

Soft glue sticks.
Soft glue that performed VERY poorly for my use attaching plastic/rubber light strip to painted wood. I re-attached after cleaning with acetone and the light strip fell off again. A drip of glue on the wood can be pushed and rolled into a sticky ball with your thumb. Maybe an excuse…..the work is in a motorhome and it’s 85-90* outside. The multi-purpose replacement sticks I bought from True Value have held.

Best hot glue I have ever used! The Best! This is the strongest and most versatile hot glue I have found.
Best hot glue I have ever used! The Best! This is the strongest and most versatile hot glue I have found. Works great for woodworking as a temporary clamp. Seals boxes for heavy duty shipping. This is expensive in my opinion but it is extremely useful for all kinds of projects.Steinel 04043 GF 260 High Strength 12″ Glue Sticks, 15 Sticks
