Watching it dry is actually fun! This bath mat is worth its weight in gold. I absolutely love it, worth every penny! I donât enjoy the constant bath mat washing machine cycles so I followed my gut and bought this one. It is lower maintenance and easy to wipe & steam clean. Iâve used the steamer a couple of times just for sanitary purposes and itâs still a good-looking quick-drying machine! It has kept my bathroom floor dry, even right outside of my shower that doesnât have a door. We have a bigger walk-in shower that can leave us with a very wet marble floor, but this thing seems to be absorbing all. I didnât notice a weird smell and I have a sensitive nose. If it does begin to smell, I will edit my review to add a timeline. The size is perfect for my shower too. Buying more for the other bathrooms!

This bath mat is amazing. It really does do what it says it does. The water disappears almost instantly. I would recommend this to anyone that hates having a wet smelly bath mat in your bathroom. My husband gets water everywhere and this mat sucks it up and makes it disappear right away.

The Asou Stone Foldable Diatomaceous Earth Bath Mat is quite an interesting concept for the bathroom. It is somewhat smaller in size than a traditional bath mat, but fits very nicely in my small bathroom and big enough that it does not occupy lot of floor area.I am trying hard to be as critical as possible, and cannot yet find anything negative to write.For sure, this is not going to be soft like a regular high pile bath mat, and it should be handled with care. Once laid down, there is no real reason for me to fold it, unless I am cleaning the floor.Coming from the shower, and landing on the mat is not at all uncomfortable, and on the contrary, it has a good feel with water drying almost instantly.As the colour is dark grey, there is no sign of any off colour, because of water dripping on it. It comes with a fine grit circular piece to clean, if needed.I like the foldable design, as I can roll it to put it aside, while cleaning the floor. The bottom backing is transparent, sturdy but flexible and anti-skid.Overall, I much prefer this Diatomaceous Earth Bath Mat than a regular fabric mat.Tip: When wet feet are on this mat, lift the foot carefully, heel first, as sometimes the mat can stick to the sole as the water dries up too fast forming a temporary bond.

Diatomite is a sediment rock made from fossilized diatomes which is a type of algae. That’s pretty fascinating in itself. Can’t get more natural than that. The stepping mat gives off a spa look that I really like. Because it naturally absorbs liquids, having it in this grey color versus white minimizes the potential of staining it. Now for the cons; it is on the smaller side but that’s the dimensions given so. Under the planks is held with a sticky substance so it’s still a bit sticky between the planks, I’m hoping that with the more water gets on it, the less sticky it will get. It’s not overly sticky but it is a bit. I don’t like the silicone type place mat it comes with to put under the diatomite mat. It’s a rectangle shape, it’s not cut to the oval shape to match it so you can see the corners. I’m not sure why it’s not pre-cut but I could cut it myself though I’m just opting out on using it all together.

I tried a regular stone mat and after a couple months it cracked in half because drying warped it. Found this mat to be just as absorbent but way easier to store and we havenât had any cracking issues. Love it enough to buy a second one for the other bathroom!
