If you’re a Tapo or TP-Link user , this is a fantastic piece of equipment ! I have mine over my garage door and it detects , records, and operates perfectly ! The LED lights are bright with great area coverage and the camera has terrific clarity . It IS hardwired to your existing spotlight wiring.

Fantastic Security Camera!
Wanted to add a camera to the side walkway. This replaced the light fixture. The setup is easy- I also have one one of their cameras in my garage. The installation can be a little tricky, depending on how you existing fixture was installed. In my case, I had to rework the brackets and use my screws. After it was all done, it worked perfectly. Note: the camera mounting screws could be a longer so be prepared to have to work a little to get them started and tightened. The picture is great! After installation, you will have to spend some time adjusting the settings. I have other cameras so I was familiar with the process.

This camera works much better than their battery powered models. The connection to my Wi-Fi never drops out like the C425 models that I have installed around the house.I used it to replace a light that had gone bad on my shed, and I thought that it would be nice to have a camera there as well.The really cool feature that I love about this particular model is that you can have the light come on automatically after dark even when you put the camera in privacy mode.When in security mode, the camera works very well and I have never had any issues with it so far. I have had it operating for three months now. The installation was pretty easy for me since I have prior experience working with electrical installations.

Better than Google Nest
I bought the Tapo products off Black Friday. I figured: at that price how can you go wrong? I was right. First off, the setup is quick and easy. Download the app, follow the guides to install the camera and off you go. The app is not always intuitive though so you might have to fiddle with it to get it dialed in just how you want. Once you do though, it’s pretty seamless. I had the Nest products before this and between the reliability issues and app non-compatability, this is by far better.I gave it four stars instead of five for two reasons. 1) The app could use a bit of tweaking and 2) I’d prefer it if I could go back and review footage from when there wasn’t an alert (which Google does have an edge on them for). Other than those two relatively minor points though, I’m very happy with it thus far.

A great security light with fantastic AI detection and functionality without a subscription.
I purchased this security light for my driveway after purchasing and loving the TAPO doorbell. I’ve had it installed for a few months now and feel that its another great addition to my smart home. It shares all of the great features of the doorbell and captures all the animals that walk past my house.The camera provides nice high definition videos that are easy to access via the application. Audio is crisp and understandable. Night vision is terrific and allows me to clearly see what’s happening in the middle of the night.The floodlight is nice and bright and easily adjustable to illuminate exactly where I wanted it to. I appreciate the ability to adjust the floodlight and camera sensitivity separately.The application is excellent and allows me to easily review events, zoom in or slow down videos, and download videos or save pictures to my phone. There is a slew of settings like reducing max brightness of the light or drawing detection zones to redue false positives.Two of the main reasons I purchased the tapo camera are as follows.1. It proides great AI detectopm that allows me to set specific areas for vehicle/movement/pet/person detection and its fairly accurate and quick.2. It offers a lot of functionality without requiring their additional subscription. This was huge for me as other brands severly limit what can be done without having to pay a monthly fee.As a quick note make sure to get a “high endurance” micro SD card for this, or any other camera device, as normal cheap cards can’t handle the frequent write cycles for cameras like this.My only minor quibbles with the unit are that the included mount doesn’t align a tight seal with a standard round juntion box. While I don’t expect this to be an issue since the camera housing is separate from the mounting bracket I was still concerned enough to use an additional small gasket. The only other thing is that night videos always begin with an adible “click” as the floodlight turns on…. Definitely not a big deal but worth mentioning.Overall I’d definitely recommend this camera to a friend and think it offers a ton of value.

Très efficace et facile à installer. La caméra capte très bien tous les mouvements de véhicule, dâhumain ou dâanimaux. A tel point quâon doit réduire la sensibilité parce que meme un insecte volant nocturne provoque le déclenchement. Je lâai installé en remplacement des simples projecteurs qui étaient déjà au mur. De jour comme de nuit lâimage est très claire. Aussi la possibilité dâutilisation dâune carte micro SD permet le stockage des images sans avoir besoin dâun abonnement mensuel en nuage.

Quickly responds to load videos and the light is really bright. The motion sensor and alarm does get triggered from thick fog and heavy snow though.

All good but one issue. The electrical box in my outside wall did not permit the brace to be mounted horizontally. The electrician that installed the electrical box 23 years ago placed it so the only 2 screw holes for the brace were corner to corner. So… No easy way to adjust. I had to customize a brace and then mount the bracket. If your electrical box screws are Horizontal – simple process. If not, get creative. And, online documents or support had nothing on the problem.As a security camera with 512Gb micro SD – it’s pretty good but false detects some tall and narrow evergreens as a person when wind blows. The LED lights are awesome. I have a big backyard and only run them at 50%. It’s good… If it was $50 less I would be happier.

Tried a few like this, but like this because it doesn’t require monthly fee. However, it would been nice if this had pan/tilt feature. Also, the sensor seems to be a bit too sensitive. Still a pretty good buy and am happy with it.

This product can detect movement across my street with sensitivity set to the lowest setting. This leads to multiple notifications. Also the only way the lights work is if it’s setup through smart actions and even still it doesn’t always turn on. I would recommend keeping a normal security light and buy a different camera.
