Best Quality TV Money Can Buy
The TCL 65-Inch Class QM8K Series QD-Mini LED is an impressive TV that delivers on almost every front. Motion quality is smooth and consistent, making fast-paced sports and action movies easy to enjoy without blur. The picture is outstandingâclear, bright, and crisp with excellent color depth that makes everything pop. Setup was quick and straightforward, and once up and running, the TV performs flawlessly with virtually no lag, whether streaming, gaming, or just navigating menus. The only drawback is the remote, which seems to burn through batteries much faster than expected. Itâs a small inconvenience compared to the overall performance of the TV, but worth noting.Overall, this TCL QM8K is a fantastic choice if youâre looking for premium functionality and picture quality at a competitive price point.

Darn Good Picture
I’m pleased with the picture quality, sound, ease of setup, and the price of this product. It has replaced a much more expensive name-brand item and is just as nice. This one costs a third of what similar name-brand products do, and even if I need to buy three of them over the next ten years, I will still come out ahead. I wish I had considered this approach years ago.

Love this as a large monitor
I got this to act as a PC monitor to play games, but it is so clear and bright I can work on it if I needed to as I work from home. It is connected to my RTX 5080, no issues getting it posted and working. The picture I took doesn’t do it justice, my phone is overexposing it. The actual tv picture is beautiful, fonts are clear, inky blacks, good refresh rate, game mode and sound quality are all amazing. I also have a PS5 Pro hooked up to it and it works just as good as my PC. Just know that HDMI ports 3 & 4 (eARC) are only 60mhz. I love the size, but to be honest I would have gone bigger the next time as my room is huge and I could move my recliner back further. This replaced a Hisense 65 U8Q which is a very nice tv, but I feel this picture is better for gaming even though I was getting high refresh from the Hisense.

Bright, Immersive, but Room for Improvement â Still a Strong Choice!
Coming from a Samsung QN90A, and having tried the LG G4 and G5, I just couldnât get behind OLEDs â they lack the brightness and immersion I want, especially at this price point. Decided to take a shot on the 75â TCL QM8K, and Iâm still figuring out just how good it is.Pros:â Once I dialed in the settings, the brightness is impressive â though I do wish it could go a bit brighter.â HDR performance is excellent for movies, and 4K Blu-rays look absolutely amazing.â Gaming performance is top-notch â fast response and bright picture overall.â The OS is snappy, intuitive, and changing settings is a breeze.â From the front, the design is sleek and modern.Cons:â Viewing angles are definitely lacking â you lose brightness and color pretty quickly off-center.â The screen is very glossy, which isnât great if your room gets a lot of light.â Thereâs a strange dimming issue that pops up in some games and a few movies â Iâm really hoping TCL can fix this with a firmware update.â Brightness can be inconsistent; highlights donât always pop the way Iâd like.â The TV is pretty bulky when viewed from the side or back â not the best look if your setup exposes those angles.Overall, Iâd recommend the QM8K if youâre looking for a bright, immersive experience without going OLED. It delivers excellent performance for movies and gaming, but Iâm crossing my fingers TCL fixes some of these quirks with future updates.

Awesome TV
This TV is awesome! Very bright, and the audio is not bad, granted I’m not an audiophile. The remote works well, but you do need good batteries otherwise they won’t last very long.

Didnât work
I revieved this item and after going through all the trouble of unpacking and setting up I turn it on and it doesnât work after a little bit of research I realized it had a software or OS glitch so it was stuck on a boot up screen with only restart and developer options that didnât do anything. After calling they confirmed it and told me a replacement and pickup would take 3 weeks so after going through the hassle of packing everything up I decided to just return it and not get a replacement

Work the Settings. Reap the Rewards. Setting Suggestions Included.
For the record, Iâm picture picky. To get the âWoWâ picture, I had to work the settings. It took several weeks to get everything right. There were lots of choices. It was complicated. This may help you find âWoWâ a bit quicker.First choose Mode (Movie Picture with Google or Dolby Vision IQ with a Fire Stick)Choose your Gamma (2.2 plus or minus 1)Then set Global Contrast and Local Contrast levels to maxAdjust Black Level (48 plus or minus 1) and then reduce Brightness (40 plus or minus 10)Peak Luminance (High or Standard if your eyes Fatigue easily)Color Saturation (50 plus or minus 2) and Tint (62 plus or minus 2)Color Temp (3 Warm plus or minus 1), Sharpness (10) and Motion (Custom Blur 2, Judder 2)This will get you close. Once dialed in, the picture is very good.Almost alive with a perception of depth.Rant:I donât get manufacturers bragging about their tv being over say 2500 nits. This tv is bright over kill and it will cause eye fatigue, especially at night, if you donât reduce brilliance. Thankfully, the QM8k isnât as bright as TCLâs flagship from last year. I see all kinds of reviewers panning the tv because of that. Ridiculous. TCL correctly realized improving dark level performance and color accuracy were key to better visuals. The picture, once calibrated, is more color accurate than its competing rival and at $995, on par with twice as expensive models, all OLED. Over $2000 the OLEDâs win. But I ainât paying $2000 for a TV.However, Buyer Beware:Too many people are getting defective panels. Panel Lottery is a red flag that TCL will have to address. And double check to insure you have the latest FirmWare update. As for mine, it is now three months old and performing perfectly.
